I had to take a good look at that animal to make sure it didn't end its' final days up there. But, no bones, so we were good! Cooties was such a great game when I was little. That one and "Don't Break the Ice" were classics!

Awesome intro, and great to see you and Tony working together again. Seems that this household got some kiddies who grew up in the 80s/90s. I like the Matchbox Super Garage set in it´s original package, highly collectible. Don´t mind your lighting, for a place like that it was perfect. 👌Keep it up, Renée, and don´t hesitate to give us further impressions of this cleanout job (if the owner of this property allows it) 😉. Some 1942 Winter vacation photos from and around Munich arrived today and will be added to my next package to Bloomsbury. 🌨Greets from GER, U.

Those photos sound wonderful! Thank you! And correct, kids that grew up in the 70s/80s.... wish they would have put more of their toys or clothes up in the attic! Tony might be getting another cleanout in a few weeks, so I'll be able to record more then. For the rest of the attic, there's one little part to go through but then I'll be up & down that ladder carrying things down. Luckily we can utilize one of the windows to throw stuff out for the dumpster. I better finish that attic before we get our cold spell - next week only in the upper 40s! Eek!

The tires on those first couple toy cars looked like Stompers battery powered toys. If so, they can be worth a ton of money. They can easily be mistaken for random common cheap toys but even pieces are worth a good amount.

Renee, you have the cutest little laugh I think that I’ve ever heard! Get that handsome boyfriend of yours to laugh a little more too. He’s all together just too serious for a boy his age! You make such a darling couple. Take it from this old lady…. before you realize it your life will be coming towards the end and, like me, you’ll have no idea where all of the years that our good Lord graciously gave you have gone. You’ll start to look at different Christmas ornaments and you’ll try to remember where you got them from. Some are so beautiful, handmade and from all over the world but for all the tea in China you won’t be able to recall where they came from. Then from somewhere in the back of your mind you’ll hear the words, “It’s okay, it doesn’t matter anyway!” And it really doesn’t! Honey try not to let Taco waste much more time being so damn shy! It’s plain to see that he loves you he’s just a little bit scared. It’s a big step for him. I think you’re going to have to put on a slinky little nightgown and robe. Make him a nice dinner, nothing too fancy. A casserole of some kind would be nice. Keep the lights down low and after dinner fill up your wine glasses one more time and make your move!! Neither one of you are getting any younger! Now get going on this foolproof plan before you two die of old age. What a beautiful bride you’ll be! The two of you together will look like Barbie and Ken!❤🥰✝️God bless you!!

The Atari console in the attic looks like it could be a 'heavy 6' or a 'light 6' (because it has 6 switches on the front). The heavy 6 I believe is quite desirable in the collector's world. Only the early Ataris have the Difficulty A/B switch on the front. Later Atari consoles only have 4 switches on the front and then some much smaller switches just behind them for the difficulty switches for left player and right player. Looks like you have some well-loved stuff in that attic!

Wow, it's again, amazing what homeowners toss and forget in basements or attics...all my explorations were in basements! Looks like I'd have to have you along, as to 80's toys, do not relate to them at all. My interest goes back to the 1920s-1960. My toy era was my childhood... during the late 40s-mid 50s. "Cootie"...I remember that one, as well as Mr. Potato Head. Lionel Trains are still part of my extended childhood!! Yes it was, In 1983, Atari infamously buried unsold E.T. video game cartridges in a New Mexico landfill due to several key factors: The rushed development of a poor-quality game, massive overproduction in anticipation of high demand, financial troubles at Atari, and the decision to cut losses by landfill disposal. This event, surrounded by myths and controversies, is emblematic of the video game industry's failures. It wasn't until 2014 that the cartridges were unearthed, cementing this episode as a cautionary tale about rushed development and overproduction in the gaming industry.

So ... was it a real "dead thang." Seems like there were a range of games spanning 20+ years. Multiple kids, I suppose. Pulling out Amigo's half body gave me a little start - appropriate for the Halloween season. Hope the SEGA & Atari work and do well for you. I saw a portable AM / FM radio - those are hard to find new these days! I guess phones get reception. A friend of mine had those big GI Joe figures and they all ended up looking like that. Such indignity. I hope there' a 6 Million Dollar Man action figure up there somewhere - bionic eye, lifted a car engine, rolled up his arm skin to find computer components underneath! Saw a piece of Spirograph, I think. Used to love that. Garland on Christmas trees was all the rage in the 70s & early 80s - it seems to have gone out of fashion. Based on our family photos, tinsel was big in the 50s & 60s? Why kind of shape is that house in? Looked like the 2 x 4 next to you about 15:00 had some bug damage. Thanks for a really interesting tour of that attic. Good luck to you all in cleaning the whole thing out - sounds like a Herculean effort! Have a great Thursday afternoon and weekend!

I'll have to order the piece to test out the Atari. It looks to be in better condition than the one I have from another cleanout & if it works, well I shall find myself maybe playing a game or two of Pac-Man and Donkey Kong! The rest of the house is nice. It is an older home that has great charm, but does need work in some areas. Some holes in walls, needs updated bathrooms, some ceilings look a little iffy, but otherwise move-in ready! Garland was big when I was little, but I always heard stories from my mom how they had the "rain" (the single string tinsel) when she was little & my grandmother would make them pick each piece off the tree so they could save it to use the next year. I don't use garland when I decorate, but perhaps this year I'll do a strand of simple beads. We shall see! Had another adventure today, but that video will be out next week! Heard the word no Tote Man at the flea market this weekend, so I might be able to sleep in!

@@PaperandMoose Looking forward to that next adventure! The tinsel tradition sounds very nice. Sleeping in on a Saturday - how decadent. My mother got hooked on Donkey Kong back in the nineties for a couple of months and stayed up all night playing then went to work. We thought we might find her sprawled over the controls and expired one morning. But the compulsion passed and she’s still with us thankfully.

Why do people leave such a mess for their children or others to clean up? I’ve been doing the death cleaning for awhile. I’m not leaving all this crap for my kids to deal with.

Will you still be helping Tony with the remainder of the house?
Also, not to overstep, but are you having trouble with tmj? I thought I noticed just a slight alteration to your speech last couple videos, but couldn't be sure. If so, you have my sincere sympathy...had it since I was 18...one side of my mandible grew slightly longer than the left. Couldn't bear the thought of an osteotomy, so I've learned how to position through the years, but still have my appliance.

No TMJ, but over the last month I've had a root canal and the start of a crown to replace a cracked crown (which is what resulted in the root canal). This has resulted in a little pain in the area where the work was done. Also, when I get hungry and my sugar starts to decrease, my speech does become a bit different as I get "brain fog" and my energy level drops.

Why would the family care that you filmed or not? Makes you wonder, yikes!
