I genuinely think that Alan and Jen didn't deserve that restaurant makeover, they deserve a trip to prison for stealing from their son
If I were the son, I wouldn't have bothered with the restaurant, I would have sought legal action. If that wouldn't have worked out, I would have gotten involved in the restaurant, only until I would have been able to get my money out.
but the son deserve it
P
@@ellingtonfeint13 Sadly legal actions would be pointless in terms of getting the money back since, as far as we know, they already spent all their money and you can't give back what you don't have. It's sort of the same reason people can cycle through credit cards without ever actually paying and can get to insane debt numbers without ever giving it back lol
@@Bzk-- They didn't just shell out the cash for csual spendings. They bought a business which beara title and is worth something.

😂😂😂 this is so true, I never actually noticed until you said it but he is remarkably chilled throughout this whole drama!
😂😂😂😂😂
Never.seen an episode where Gordon has said so little.
Son should sue his father for 250k and never speak to his parents again.
Right!!!!
The mom is extremely evil. Definitely the worst person ive seen on this show
Agreed
A real life Livia Soprano.
By a long way too.
she had an evil smile in part 1 when the dad was yelling at the son. If i was the son id say me and wendy are gone and never coming backl
Nah Alan is worse
Jen fake coughing in the first episode and straight up falling asleep in the second sent me into a coma😭😭😭
She needs to be put in coma
David’s burger almost sent her into a coma too
I know. Because I just ate a whole box of captain crunch berry crunch and a whole box of frosted flakes. With real cream milk. And I might go to KFC or have grub hub delivered. OMG 😱😳
Leaked secrets about Gen:
- she’s a 64 year old woman
- she’s a medium-rare girl
- not on Prozac (allegedly)
And she likes mushrooms because she's from Poland.*
She also tastes a strong taste
She is not that powerful
She’s not wearing a chef’s hat
She’s not swirling the pans
She’s not making the patties
She’s not chopping the mushrooms
Shes polish so she cares about the mushrooms
This episode is gordon just being a therapist
He's not the-rapist! Omg!

Alan: gets treated like shit by his dad, writes a book about it
Also Alan: treats his son like shit, doesnt even feel bad about it
It was insane when he said "How can a father do that to his child?" when he had done even worse to Danny.
@@tiner8414 idk if worse I mean his father was a mob boss and he forced him to do illegal stuff but yeah
Alan died in 2020. RIP is all I can say
He didn't even realise. It took Gordon telling him upfront for him to realise, he was the monster he himself hated.
thsts how abuse is.
Its a cycle.
You are treated like shit and in turn you treat others like shit.
The parents are textbook abusers. They dislike the girlfriend because she gives Danny wacky ideas about making his own decisions and being a free man. They stole his money and gaslight him when he talks about how that was a bad thing to do. The Karen does that thing where you slap someone and they slap you back in response and you act like they broke your arm.
They’re both monsters and it’s incredibly unfortunate that they found each other. I hope Danny escaped the cycle.
True. Not only that but you can see how toxic they were to the entire system. I wonder weather the chef at the start wasn’t 100% a victim although he was lashing out a lot. The whistle blower is an authentic person, and the narc JEN was after him because he would tell her truth to the world : she was a maniac.
It is fortunate that they found each other. Otherwise there will be 2 families destroyed instead of 1.
Karen acts like draco malfoy when he got hit by the hippogriff, gets dramatic every time someone makes a better point than she does and plays victim 💀🙄
Yet can you blame them, their parents were probably the same
Don't feel too bad. This episode is staged as fuck. Alan's father, the person he wrote the book about was Abe Saffron, an extremely notorious crime boss. He left a million each to all his children (He had 4 kids apart from Alan) and grandchildren. This is all verifiable and google-able. Some more research shows that Alan and Daniel had actually been planning on opening a burger restaurant for years and had been planning on opening more if the first one went well. It closed in 2011. Alan himself died in 2020.
Wendy is a queen standing up for Danny, he's lucky to have her and i hope after the restraunt closed down they moved far away from his awful family and are living happily
They're married and have two kids apparently 😊

In his defense it was 2008 when it was borderline trendy and he’s losing hair. It may have seemed a temporary low maintenance hair solution (I say as someone with unfortunate hair myself)
12:30 Daniel, "you don't have to be right all the God damn time."
Jen; turns away in pain like someone told her they put salt & wine in her mushrooms.
It was so damn heartbreaking, but I will say I am proud of Daniel for standing up to his parents.
Gen is just as despicable as Amy from Amy's Baking Company, but she is never caught red-handed. She blames and scapegoats David, trying to make him the reason why the restaurant is failing. She has the nerve to make herself the victim of the trouble she started when David got fed up with her control.

controlling cowardly Jen, no matter how many punches in the face would take her to admit her mistakes and all of the troubles she has caused

In my opinion, Gordon didn't tear into Alan and Gen enough, should've given them absolute hell
Ripping into Gen would be a lost cause methinks, a lot of fans think she’s got mental health issues and was beyond saving
he chose to focus on lifting daniel up instead. i'm sure he would have if it was only those two.
I think the Chef did enough of that before leaving. Probably stole the words out of Godon's mouth.
Unfortunately I don’t think that was his place. I like what someone else said about lifting the son up - I think that was the better choice. Tearing into them likely wouldn’t have fixed their long term generational trauma they are experiencing. They would need YEARS of therapy
Jen is in her 60s and acts like this, not even divine intervention is going to make a difference to her
"It's hard for a father to admit to a son that he made a terrible mistake."
No. No it's not. It's hard for a narcissistic father to do that. I sure hope your son never ends up being ANYTHING like you.
The fact that he said that proves he said it to feed his own ego.
He's actually patting himself on the back for admitting to being a horrible father
I think if he ever becomes like his Dad, Wendy will be there for him

Halleluja, I was rhinking the exact same thing. It is not hard to admit to have made a terrible mistake. It is hard to realize you have hurt the person you love most but it should be the easiest thing to admit it and apologize to try to fix at least a little bit and make your sons burden a bit lighter

-closed in 2012, apparently the burgers gordon designed didn't last
-daniel did open a lawsuit against his dad regarding the 250k (I couldn't find info on how it ended. it's behind paywalls)
-according to austrialian officials, Alan's dad (Abe) was a austrailian mobster
-dan and wendy got married and had 2 children!
-Alan sadly passed away due to a heart attack in 2020
I also heard they inherited way more money from him than they let on in this episode. Apparently it closer to a million. And this whole thing was just a set up so they could sell this business.
Alan's dad was a mobster who is frequently blamed for the Luna Park Sydney Ghost Train fire, which inspired the events of Five Nights at Freddy's 3. True story. This show has a link to FNAF.

@@thecommunistdoggo1008 Gordon is an executive producer. It is some of his money that goes into making over some of these shows. Sometimes $75,000 or more is put into the makeovers of some of these places. You need to look at the veins bulging out of Gordon Ramsay's neck in the scene in the restaurant booth , "For the sake of the family, the business. It's so sad to see the family ripped apart, the viciousness. I stayed up until 4 this morning." Gordon was working 5 shows in one year. Gordon went to foreign countries for National Geographic. Gordon doesn't just live his life regardless of if they fail or not. A month later he goes back to reevaluate these places. Years later media scrutinizes what happened to the places and the people he worked on. He does not live his life regardless of if they fail or not. So few viewers realize Gordon Ramsay will be blamed if he sees rotten food stored and going out to customers while he monitors the venue and watches the food go out. Gordon's reputation is on the line that he trained people, producing the result of the venue. Gordon's reputation is on the line. If the food succeeds or fails is attributed to Gordon's intervention. Many times you hear, "Word has gotten out that I'm here and customers have packed the place." I see in a number of these shows Chef Ramsay cleaning the places as in scrubbing the floors and walls. There have to be many days when he is away from his home and family.

I get this really strong taste, like I dunno what it is but I seem to think it might be Gen who is at the heart of all the problems. The menu, the chef, the dad having conflict with the son and his girlfriend, the yelp reviews.
Just go back and watch the two episodes back to back and watch specifically her manipulative behavior and the moments she can be caught laughing or smiling when the others are upset.
She watches her husband and son argue over the yelp thing and what does she do? Smile, then get bored, then wake back up and roll her eyes before smiling again when they shout at each other.
What does she do when her "burger" that she likes gets a bad Gordon review and the chefs burger gets a good review? Coughs and pretends the flavor is wrong or too strong then fake crying and run out the door rather than continue the conversation about which burger should be on the menu and which should be binned.
Sure the Chef was a nutjob, sure the Dad is probably not a great guy but I get this feeling that the issue between the son and father are caused by the mother and when Gordon lays out how he is repeating his own fathers mistakes he recognizes it and instantly wants to repair the relationship.
Meanwhile when the sons money that was used without his permission gets brought up and he asks to be listed as a co-owner officially what is her reaction? to smile. The dad is obviously guilty but his reaction isn't to take joy out of that.
Sure the son and his girlfriend were dramatic and emotional but put yourself in that position, having a fortune wrapped up in a company you have no control over that you are watching crumble and every time you try and step up your relationship with your parents begins to crumble along with the business and no changes are made because your mother has total control over what goes on the menu apparently, I reckon any of us would be at breaking point.
Watch back through both episodes back to back and watch 3 people have genuine reactions and one person manipulate everyone around them while smiling and faking emotional outbursts, the conclusion becomes kind of obvious the more you think about it.
Edit: To add the dad seems like a egotist and self obsessed but he also stated he didn't want to be working or running the restaurant, and if the son is looking to take charge you have to ask why he feels forced to do that, is it just his ego or is it his ego being pushed by his wifes manipulation.
I like the girlfriend in this when her boyfriend is crying she jumps over the chair to give him a hug and what does his mother do? Scoot around a little bit closer to him. You can tell the girlfriend loves him and I hope they are still together and happy

It's really hard being trauma for a long time that when you go out of that you have no idea how to do it on your own and end up doing same mistakes but when you realized hardly that it shouldn't be like the past trauma that you experienced. It's freeing. It's a new kind of healing. Restoring what was lost
*UPDATE* :
After Kitchen nightmares, the menu and kitchen staff at Burger Kitchen were changed numerous times.
In August 2011 the restaurant is said to have changed ownership and by October 2011 there was a rebranding, a new, smaller menu, a new team of Chefs and new management in place.
Yelp reviews continued to be negative and customers reported that none of the burgers that Gordon had created were on the menu.
The POS system installed as part of the revamp was also no longer used to take orders, burgers were still not cooked as ordered and service was very slow.
There was reportedly a for lease sign at the restaurant in mid January and the restaurant was shuttered in February.
Burger Kitchen was officially shut down in February 2012.
A restaurant named ‘Luigi's’ opened in it's place just a few weeks after they closed but this also shut down.
‘Jaffaa’, a Middle Eastern restaurant appears to have been the last restaurant to have been in its place, however it is unclear if this is still open.

To help a guy out with his relationship with his father, Gordon dropped the story about his own father like it was nothing, it was so sincere, clearly heartfelt and he didn't even blink. What a man.
HE DID BLINK THREE TIMES AT LEAST!!!
Yeah mad, my dad's a dkhead, nasty to my mum never talked to him for years, turned into actual fist fights multiple times when I was a teenager, years later I forgave him though he's never apolosed once, barely speak to him now, it's all about him, selfish angry man, he's 64 now, we're not on terrible terms but I sometimes wonder if I would've been better being estranged, he has helped me a bit over the years but really it was too little too late but I'd hate for him to pass being on bad terms, what's upsetting is over the years I've noticed so many similarities in myself, I strive to be better but sometime history really does repeat and the apple don't fall far from the tree
Shame the owners played Gordon. The son invested willingly and this whole episode was a way to plug Alan's book. Kitchen nightmares weren't aware they were played lol but tbf they probably realised and went w it bc they would cash in on the "drama"
@xxx yyy what's bs? The fact they did it or do u think they didn't? I can assure u there's proof they did it.
when you fix a problem from the past you can talk about it freely and you feel no restrain when you do that
Gordon Ramsay you're worth more money not only as business person, but a counsellor, you have brought that family to glory
Well done mate
Gordan didn't just fixed a restaurant, he actually fixed a family as well....
The restaurant closed after the parents fell back into old habits and then the dad died of a heart attack. Also Daniel got married.
After seeing half the customers walk out on the previous episode, how he thinks the yelp reviews aren’t real is literally insane
The dad is now dead 🙃

Damn chef David Blaine really got caught right in their family feud. He's capable but that toxic ass environment just broke the guy. Hope he finds good employment.

I really do not know how chef Ramsay pulls these sort of jobs off, they would send me around the bend, he is a very patient person, I could not do what he does. He is a Counsellor as well as an excellent Chef. Please keep up your excellent work.
This episode has become my favorite of all. It also shows how compassionate and caring Chef Gordan Ramsey is. I have watched many episodes but this one was truly good❤.
Allan and Gen are incredibly toxic people. They had great staff, a talented chef, a hard working son with a supporting girlfriend and fantastic location. They manage to drag everything through the mud with every single choice until Gordon intervened. Daniel did an amazing job despite them, its satisfying to see how proactive he is when he isn't being micromanaged. Wendy is incredibly supportive and just as hard working. However, Allen and Gen did not deserve the revised restaurant after all they did and I am not fully confident they will not backpedal some time after the show.
Allan died of a heart attack and Daniel and Wendy got married, so hopefully his son actually had money left over to inherit.

Wendy is goals tbh, she stands up for dan and immediately stands up to comfort him when he breaks down. I hope theyre still together

Wendy is an angel. She cares so much for Danny. She fights for him and is his shield. When his family was attacking him and she hugged him to put herself between him and his family. That’s a true, caring and compassionate person. I was happy to read here that they are doing well together.
wow this was rough, first of all the way wendy jumped up to defend her partner then hug him when he was upset was so sweet and i hope they are happy together also i can't believe the resstauant owners thought it was ok to steal at all from there son let alone that much
this was horrible to watch , that mother and father should be ashamed of themselves. Disgusting excuses of humans. I feel so bad for that kid.

After watching every single episode of Kitchen Nightmares I can honestly say that I find the mother Gen/Jen the absolute worst person on the show (I have seen the full length episode. a) She smiles when her husband talks about stealing their son's money b) she frowns when their cook actually cooked something that wasnt on the menu that Gordon enjoyed c) shes horrible to her son's wife d) she didnt even comfort her son when he was crying about how she treats him and worst of all she purposely fell asleep when her yelp customers where explaining why they dont like the food.
I agree 100%. To add on to that, I believe Gen is a psychopath. She says David’s burger is awful, but when Gordon makes a similar burger, its good? That’s bullshit.
don't think she is beating adele in terms of trash persona
@@murabula2092 Adele was nowhere near as bad as Gen - she never intentionally set out to hurt people's feelings, especially her daughters. She was just a grumpy old woman who was stuck in her ways!

Diana Downs is the women I am talking about. I think her and Gen are quite uncanny
When Gordon in the end said to the son I believe in you the smile on his face made me tear up I can see his confidence grow ❤

She didn't even care even when there's a celebrity chef next to her. It's true love right there. Also, the fact Wendy got comforted by his girlfriend at that time instead by his parents and his mom asking like a child "What do you want?" Many times is fucking ridicullous.
I don't believe the apologies from the SCUM and I agree with your view on Wendy and her man. I hope they have a great family of their own. And if they have the business it should be the son in charge and NO ANYTHING FROM THE SCUM!!!

Watching this episode was so stressful. I can feel the animosity through the screen. Wow
Those parents belong behind bars for theft and fraud.
This.
That son better have gotten that money. He was fucking abused by his 2 parents, whether it was physical, it was still abuse. His parents don’t listen, they take advantage of his son, they are manipulators, and unfortunately they are actually pretty good manipulators, but once you know they are manipulating you, it doesn’t work, and they stole his money and his mental health. So they are thieves and abusers who should be in jail

Both her and her husband are like that. In the Yelp/Restaurant manager scene you can see he's just rolling his eyes, making faces, and just generally being unattentive.
Gen knows best, just ask her.😂
Someone asked, "Why doesn't the son sue?". Well according to what I read, the money was put into a trust joint account where the son and father were the beneficiaries and both had access to the funds. So no matter what was said or their previous agreement beforehand. Once it was in that Trust account and an agreement has been sorted with their bank. The Dad has full access to that money. Some banks can be different and have different policies, however, it seems like the Son was lied to, and the Dad had the legal backing to take the money.
There was a lawsuit, however, I don't think it went anywhere or was dropped. So it looks like the Father and Wife has got away with it. This is an important lesson to everyone watching and hopefully, people don't make the mistake that the Son did. Losing $250k is something most people will regret....for the parents 500k, their son, and their reputation.
From what I understand the son did sue and what I did hear was the judge told the son because it was ina. Trust account that legally the father had the rights to it, even if 250k was the son, he however ripped the father because he knew that was his son money and took it saying “legally your in the clear, morally your a asshole”
I'm literally just saying what I heard from another youtube comment so I don't know if it's true, but the case was dropped because the father passed away

The son did sue. Not sure how it pan out since the dad died in 2020 and the suing is in that same period
