The worst part is that the food didn't even seem to be THAT bad all they needed is a small adjustments, but they refuse to take criticism and think they're above everyone, they can't force ppl to eat there
Small adjustments as far as the food is concerned, maybe. But the way these two had been treating not only patrons, but also staff is ALSO important! And as far as that is concerned, particularly Amy is a pathologically abusive individual, who should maybe live in a mental hospital under professional supervision, so she can’t victimize people any more. She’s a ticking bomb.
@@namenom9524 Though I see what you‘re saying, I still beg to differ. I have watched a shit-ton of Kitchen Nightmares episodes by now, and I recall a whole plethora of episodes where Gordon addressed very many issues with restaurants outside of the quality of food alone. His main focus, the way I see it is the survival and financial sustainability of restaurants. In many cases, the quality of food wasn’t even the main issue - but that the restaurant was financially unsustainable the way it was run (for instance, the fanciest foods - EVEN IF OF GOOD QUALITY - is entirely pointless, when local customers have no interest in that particular offer. A successful restaurant exists in a fruitful exchange between the GUESTS and the restaurant. Amy can make all the nice cakes that she likes and put them in her showcase - so long as she alienates entire generations of waitresses and calls customers all kinds of insulting names, it is irrelevant! By the way, apparently both Amy and her partner had apparently been criminals before Gordon ever showed up. Both had spent time in prison. In fact, Amy’s partner had done such bad things that he is banned for life from several Central European countries! By the time this episode aired, the immigration authorities in America were coming after - what’s his name? Sammy? - and they have by now both left the country for Israel. So they both have issues integrating themselves into society. What can be seen in Kitchen Nightmares are just some of the symptoms of a much broader problem.
I’m convinced this restaurant was just a money laundering scheme. Owner doesn’t want the police called, doesn’t let anyone handle money but him or input orders.
@Pan Polski well how would the producers know, after all it’s just a theory. But when you start to analyze the way Sammy behaved and how anxious he got when Gordon mentioned money, tips, how the servers can’t use the POS. Also the fact that Sammy kept “forgetting” to put some food orders into the POS. It’s super clear that there was so shady stuff happening in that restaurant.
@Pan PolskiObviously it's just a speculation but you can see they are highly delusional? Also you can see Samy hiding the littlest of things from Amy so chances are she doesn't even know most of the things. And this isn't the first time. One example was the episode from season 1 with a restaurant named Pete's. The owner of that restaurant was connected to the Russian mob I think and later on got in trouble for that.
Maybe. Or he was just skimming off the top. Like if you have 10 orders and input all of them in the POS, the cheque will come to the right amount for the work and cost etc. and it will be reported as income. If you have 10 orders but input 8, then verbally order the food, you end up with money in your pocket for the last two orders. The cost of those two orders is negligible so you could theoretically do it and not collapse the business. And you end up with non-taxable dollars that you don't have to report as income (edit you don't have to meaning the government isn't aware of the money, so they can't ask for it, this is all highly illegal). Same with the tips, they're not being reported, therefore they're not being taxed. Maybe he was laundering proceeds of crime but it could be just an illegal scam to evade taxes.
“Details of Amy's past including a criminal conviction for social security fraud to obtain credit have surfaced. It was also reported that Samy was subject to an immigration case after failing to declare previous charges including drug charges and trafficking.” Money laundering was definitely happening
When both Amy & Sammy insisted for the customer to paid some food that didn't even showed up at his table, it was a hideous spectacle to behold 💀 I never thought such level of entitlement exists in reality until I saw this episode.
The Federal Labor Standards Act strictly says that employers can't take tips from their fellow employees. If I were those girls I would have sued the living the shit out of Amy and that so called husband.
I also noticed that no matter how much he hates the food he ALWAYS says thank you to the server. And on masterchef he says thank you to the chefs for (almost) every single dish
You can really hear the tiredness in his voice when Gordon talked to them in the last few minutes of this episode. The thing is, when Gordon wants people to succeed he usually raises his voice so that people could get his point across. But when he talked to both Amy and Sammy he seemed so astonished of their hard- headiness and felt like that there's no hope for both of them. He just practically gave up because he felt that there's no way getting those two out of their delusional little world.
Indeed. I feel like, in most episodes, Gordon actually tries to do something related to the restaurant. He inspects kitchen and talks to the people. Things he did early in the episode. Then he plays therapist 90% of the episode. However, here it's just Gordon witnessing horror after horror. He tries to talk roughly to Sammy, but ends up picking a fight, because Sammy & Amy don't actually want to change. So he actually ends up just being mad the entire episode about how shitty they are and helping the waitress under the counter.
Class act. I used to manage a store. The carry out guys were not supposed to take tips. But I told them if they do, don't tell me. I did not want to screw them over.
I don't watch much Gordon Ramsay content, but seeing a clip of this as a short, I found this episode, I'm actually amazed how nice Gordon Ramsay really is. You see how well he dealt with that amount of bat shit crazy? And how nicely he treated the staff? He really is a good dude.
That's the real Gordon Ramsay. For most of time he's angry partly to play a character for both ratings and to push people. There were even times when he actually lowered his voice in cold anger because he lost hope.
"pay for what i didnt have anything" god the face the guy makes when he says that is priceless. he isnt scared by sammy, he is awe struck by the best customer service he has ever seen.
As horrible as Amy is, Sammy shouldn't be let off the hook either. He enabled his wife's toxic behaviour, and instead of trying harder to contain it, he borrowed some of it for himself. And that's not even mentioning him stealing his waitress's tips.

UPDATE: It has been heavily implied that Samy and Amy have split up. Samy’s Facebook states that he is “single” and made comments which suggested that Amy wasn’t faithful with him. I guess she found herself a new sugar daddy
Unfortunately common in the food service industry. We have so little actual protections that management and owners can basically abuse you all they want all while paying you a shit wage. I’ve witnessed these kinds of things often both first hand and from friends… I myself witnessed sexual harassment in my workplace while i was in a restaurant, and the owners being neglectful and not even giving us so much as a breakroom or even a chair to sit on for a couple minutes. The floors werent properly up to code either so after a few months of work i developed chronic pain and i wasnt working 11, 12 hour shifts like my immigrant coworkers were. Its horrible. Amy and samy, and people like them should be ashamed.
They could probably run the business better. One person runs the till how inefficient is that. And 1 chef doing everything. No buisness sense whatsoever. I'm an estj and would never run a business like these idiots do if I was running one.
I'm glad the place is closed for good. The employees deserved better especially Miranda. That poor girl never got her tips and I'm glad Gordon gave her a tip.
As a psychology student this is just my opinion but Amy almost certainly suffers from Narcissistic personality disorder. She was a lost cause from the start. She needs therapy but narcissists almost never seek therapy so she will be forever lost. Just tragic
I mean at the very start of the episode they were feeding themselves the idea that they were the best chefs in the world, blamed their failure on sabotage and believed they just needed Gordon there to tell everyone the place was great. The moment they realised Gordon wasnt there to praise them they immedately went to label him as a hater.
This episode gave me anxiety , I was staring at the kitchen knives hanging by the wall next to her, thinking that she would use them on someone at any moment . How delusional can someone be , she and he have major issues that no therapist can fix . Flipping hell
It's amazing how well Gordon's visit started - the place was pretty, the kitchen was clean and ordered, the dessert tasted good. And yet this ended up being the one establishment Gordon couldn't help.
They are in Israel now, and doing quite well apparently, Amy reportedly stated that she regrets how she acted in kitchen nightmares, saying that she acted a bit crazy.

@@sekhmet7774 Being bipolar is not a good excuse for behaving that way - unless she acknowledges and admits she has it, Im sorry I dont believe she deserves any kind of treatment for treating everyone like that just because she doesnt like opinions
Ramsay immediately asks if the desserts are store bought. He HAD to have known. I'm sure he's handled enough food to recognize the uniformity of mass produced goods.
Miranda was such a sweet and adorable waitress. with all these craziness in this episode, her good manner became underrated. Hope she's doing great now.
Yes, the final speech was crystal clear. Brought tears to my eyes. The episode could have been scraped. And I'm glad they did make this episode. There are so many owners abusing their staff and being delusional enough to blame that staff for their own pleasure (I'm purposely not saying "incompetence "). These bastards are way too sick.
It's always funny how Sammy tries to act like a tough mob boss when Amy is not presence, just to ended up acting like a puppy being manipulated when he's around her, lol.
“The majority of people of Arizona think that if you come to our restaurant, that we’re gonna yell at you, scream at you, and throw you outside. And that is not who we are.” **Proceeds to show them kicking people out**
Amazing how Gordon held himself back from criticizing the meal immediately, and saying he'll talk about it later; because he totally knew that Amy would freak the hell out.
Also, it's not legal for a restaurant to take tips away from servers in Arizona, under federal and state law. No wonder Sammy the gangsta didn't want the po-po called.
Holy shit 25:00 "Are you sure?" *"yOU cAn gO hOMe KaTTy"* What an absolute psycho, no wonder they went through over 100 staff members. I'm so happy they got shut down in 2015
Amy is the issue. Her husband at least was willing to hear criticism. She is insane, and the sad part is, she really could’ve had a great restaurant. It was clean and nice-looking, the cakes were amazing and the food was bad, but not horrible. Such a sad waste of potential on what could’ve been a great place, all because Amy was too fragile and unwilling to change.
this restaurant managed to get recordings of multiple crimal offenses punishable by law such as assault, battery, harrassment and a multitude of others. taking waiters' tips is also punishable in most states.
@@paul81491that's not the only place where this happens. And it's even worse as soon as you realise it does everywhere you work as a waiter. Down where I live it's pretty common to give tips to the owners. It's basically a rule. Awful init?
Looking into Amy’s eyes is staring into portals of madness. she genuinely believes what she says even though she’s in a whole other world as the mayor of Crazy Town.
So, if someone truly intimidating and bent on doing you actual harm said it to you in person you'd immediately go fetal, soil yourself and start screaming for help? Willingly pathetic for likes still somehow seems worse.
I love that when Amy threatens to call the police, Sammy starts panicking. Something tells me that $1m he invested was not exactly earned on the up-and-up. Disgusting people.
Loud Gordon: He sees there’s potential in you and is frustrated that it’s being squandered. Calm Gordon: He think you’re a lost cause and not worth the energy to get upset.
@@justsomeguywholovesberserk6375 Yeah that's what I'm saying! Them being such horrible owners/people is what made this episode so entertaining and popular!
Always thought Chef Ramsey was an angry person but having actually watched some of these episodes it's very clear he's just passionate about what he does (as he should be) and does not take any bullshit from anyone. Do it right or don't do it at all. I am impressed at his patience and understanding, he's more of a therapist than a chef in a lot of this. The waiter's tip and The Burger Kitchen episode shows how much of a good person he truly is and I'm sure there are copious examples of this. Hats off to Chef Ramsey, seriously.
He’s harsh, but he isn’t a bully. The guy in this episode particularly is just a bully, like when he’s trying to force customers who never got their food to pay. He’s trying to intimidate customers and staff, even watching it is making me uncomfortable. Ramsay seems like a fair guy, he’s shouty and loud, which I’m sure is way more intimidating when you’re on the receiving end but he doesn’t actually seem aggressive. When he insults people he sounds more exasperated, like he can’t believe it rather than angry.
Rare instance of the episode starting with Gordon complimenting how clean their kitchen is and how her cakes were good. Thats where the positivity stops.
That’s the beauty of a good edit. Most Kitchen Nightmares run as comedies-start low, end high. This is the only true tragedy-start high, end low. I bet Gordon was told to praise the cake after the crew got those insanity shots the night before. Honestly does look good.
I can't deny that this episode is AT LEAST in the top 10 of BEST reality show episodes. Everything in this episode is absolutely perfect. What makes it better is that it's genuine and the owners are unhinged. IT'S STILL PERFECT TO THIS DAY

Amy is completely insane. Calling a young girl who "gives you attitude" a "poisonous little viper" is hilariously crazy. You can see how deranged she is in her eyes and that slight twitch of her face when she tenses up at 39:50. I think everyone who's a bit internet/RUclips savvy knows that you already should nope out of a situation when the person starts talking about "haters" and "online bullies" (got some serious Gabbie Hanna vibes), too bad no one told Mister Ramsay that (but then again, we wouldn't have that gem of an episode existing). lol
She is absolutely crazy. But it's funny how her rationalisation of "I've never had any 'real' criticism, the only criticism is from 'haters' and 'trolls" is exactly what Disney and the like (and the people who defend them) do when they are criticised for their Star wars films, or the amazon lotr show, or the GoT finale, they say "oh it's all just hate and trolling racists, there's no real criticism, our film/tv show is perfect", which is exactly the same sentiment that Amy has here.
You shouldn't use this terrible excuse of a restaurant to justify online hatred and bullying towards people actually undeserving of such criticism. It's this sort of complacency that's helping cause the fall of various rights in the US and other places, all because the bottom of the barrel trash outnumbers intelligent people and society believes in hard democracy every single time. Sometimes the criticism is called for, but other times it isn't, no matter how wild sounding or far fetched the person's ideas may seem to be. And it's unfortunate people like Amy/Samy help idiots justify actual trolling/hater behavior towards people that may not deserve it. Truthfully, any person who's actually internet savvy/actually has a semblance of intelligence knows better.
@@tommysandal6930 I think there is a difference in people like Amy and her husband teasing the bull and feeling the horns (i.e. picking a fight with trolls) and people like them actually getting harassed and or death threats. These things are never okay because they surpase the "harmlessness" of mere trolling. However, I *am* aware that the difference and the boundary depends on each individual, so in the end, it's completely fair for you to disagree with my opinion or any other persons opinion.

The way it got so quiet at 38:45 was so eerie. No background music or anything, just Gordon and the white noise in the room. Insane. What an insane episode.
@@taxiuniversum yeah true, but what i mean is that Gordon main job is food and the food isn't that awful, but yeah they are a Lost cause
@@namenom9524 I actually got info about that the food Gordon liked was bought in a bakery nearby, and up the price by 2 folds when they serve them
@@namenom9524 Though I see what you‘re saying, I still beg to differ.
What can be seen in Kitchen Nightmares are just some of the symptoms of a much broader problem.
to be fair they didnt cook most of it.
I’m convinced this restaurant was just a money laundering scheme. Owner doesn’t want the police called, doesn’t let anyone handle money but him or input orders.
Samy got deported later on for some stuff I heard. So I guess that pretty much proves your suspicions. The entire resturant was just fishy.

Perfectly worded. I completely agree. I cant imagine how tired Gordon must have felt.
I mean, the first minute I saw her face and the way she talks I knew they are a lost cause.

I like how they're blaming all the online bullies for their business failing but at the same time telling all their customers to f*** off 😂😂

@@zaphod4245 and the end result of all this is getting movies like star wars 9
That woman reminds me of chris chan XD
PLOT TWIST: it came out later that the cakes are store bought too.
Such a shame. Sammy actually seemed inclined to change, but didn't want to go against his wife.
True. Sammy trys to go against his wife when firing the server but amy always wins
True i sensed that he could have changed if you got his trust but Amy lol she has a wide unnamed variety of mental issues 😂
narcissists always have to win
She does speak feline though so that’s impressive at least
Did not feel that way. Rude and violent... Ready to argue and fight with his customers...He happily keeps the waitress tips. If the wife behave like that is also thanks to his support. and viceversa. They compensate each other.
Amy be like “I don’t accept people with attitudes in here.” Literally her, the biggest attitude in the restaurant.
finally, the most infamous episode in kitchen nightmare's history.
Hello MY NAME IS NINOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
finally,
Dear God,Nino is the most down on earth man! He unlike those two pricks, was capable of change and started listening to Gordon and did a great job at the relaunch night! So I'll say:Don't make a comparsion,it's a big insult to Nino!
@@МиткоХристов-э9в Nino atleast had the courage to change, these lunatics didnt even think about changing
@@THEONEPIEEECE Does Nino's restaurant still open or has it closed?
I always come back to this video whenever I need to feel good about myself
38:44 Woah...the music stops and Gordon says the best answer ever and leaves. Never seen that ever in this show. Respect
Gordon absolutely handled that so well. I honestly think there’s something wrong with the owner mentally cause exactly like Gordon said this is not normal at all.
When Amy gets arrested, she says ‘you have the right to remain silence’ to the police officer.
This is gold lol
🤣
Hahaha
Or wait the feedback from REAL policeman.
And then the police tasers her as many times as possible
I feel so sorry for the server, she´s so nice and kind. She doesn´t deserve bosses like that
I wouldn't be surprised that they have PTSD from working in that place
Hi, hello! I’m only here because she made a post on FB 4 days ago saying all Reddit mentions must be taken down because they will not allow *this* any longer as it was 10 years ago… I have been laughing for 20 minutes cause how did I miss this chaos?! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
SHE’S STILL GOING, ARE YOU JOKING?? 😭😭💀💀
@@crypticbunny05 She shows all the signs of a severe malignant narcissistic personality disorder and antisocial personality disorder. She'll never stop.
This will forever be the greatest episode of Kitchen nightmares.
well, the ''i fk you, i fk you'' is the best thing ever in life in general, isareli style accents are the best.
The way Sammy constantly repeats “F**k you!” at 5:52 is hilarious. 😂
@@sonicfan9144 yep, reason to exist right there ''FUKK ME?'' '' I FUKK YOU''
AGREED
Burger Kitchen gets pretty close, though that one was more skewed toward drama and this one toward sheer insanity.
Gordon is such a good detective: picking the right questions for the right people and getting the most revealing responses. Even the dishes he orders are excellent crash tests for food quality and presentation
He would make a great Batman, he even got the rudeness for it
Would be funnier if he were Commissioner Gordon tho
Gordon Ramsay BatMan
