Hey world travelers! Did we forget anything? Please share your Aruba travel tips below!
Also, we are just getting started with our journey through the Caribbean Islands. Do you have any favorite islands we should check out?
About how long do you allow for the customs?
I already had the bridge in mind, but will definitely be looking into the rock formations and winery. Also, thanks for the tip on the reusable bags - this is the first I heard about those.
Question for you regarding passports. Does Aruba have the 6 month rule? My sister’s passport expires in Sept. is she ok for a trip in May?
Favorites are Aruba & Anguilla!!
@roiijamez33 Nice! We haven’t been to Anguilla yet. Thanks for putting itit on our radar!
@@LucasWorldTravel All The Best!!
True about the dogs - walked from Talk Of The Town hotel to downtown, decided to cut through the neighborhood & there were stray dogs everywhere! (former mailman )😊
Glad your mailman skills could help you with the dogs! 😄 I'm sure you've seen your fair share of scary dogs in your career.
@@LucasWorldTravel Yep - learned to watch my back for sure - Take Care! PS heading to AUA Sunday! #WooHooooo
@@roiijamez33 Nice enjoy!

Love this guide!!! Great tips and yes, we definitely invested in our own snorkling gear.
Nice! We had a hour-long snorkel yesterday. I still can't believe we were out in the water that long. We've come a long way with our swimming.

I need to try that Keshi Yena, looks amazing
It is amazing! You won't regret trying keshi yena! Enjoy Aruba!
Great video, and a beautiful island. We own at the Ocean Club, and go almost every year, but i still learned a few things from watching your video.
Wow! Glad that we could show you even more of the island. Your Ocean Club sounds lovely! Enjoy!
My family leaving for Aruba soon thanks for the helpful review
Sure! Enjoy Aruba!
I just left Aruba 2 days ago. The weather on average is 90 during the day and 80 at night.
Also, maybe give current crime, not from 2008, 16 years ago.
Aruba residents are very honest! If you lose something of value, it will most likely be turned in. My friend lost her bank card and the front desk had it. A person dropped $400 cash at Super Foods and it was turned in.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing your travel information with us, it's extremely helpful...I'm looking forward to this trip soon. Since I love the turquoise ⛱️ beaches.
Please find out about Martinique...the same information you provided for Aruba...thank you n stay safe!🎉🎉👌👍
Will do! We’ll go to Martinique next month!
From hearing about your experiences I think we would love Aruba! We would opt for the 4x4 at least for a day to go see the more rugged areas. That stew with Gouda on top looked so delicious!
And I'm still craving that stew too! It was so good!
Aruba 🇦🇼🇦🇼 is truly a gem in the Caribbean. 😊❤
Agreed!
Hello there… I really like your video , you are a very nice couple, I took notes because I’ll be visiting Aruba in a few days for tourism and for a Mariah Carey concert ! I’m so exited! Thank you guys ! Wish me luck!
Sounds fun! Enjoy the concert and Aruba!
Great video, thanks! We’re exploring it for a family vacation next year, and you may have sold us! 12 robberies per year?!
I know! That surprised us too! Crime is impressively low.
Great video. My wife ate starting a travel channel. Thank you for the video
Thanks! Good luck with your channel!
Where did you eat the blackend fish filet and shrimp in the video? It looks SOOOOOOO good!
Red fish restaurant
Hi! Thank you for this informative video!! I am planning a trip in June do you think the weather be nice for this month? 😅
As far as we know, the weather is good in Aruba year-round. There are no bad times to go. Enjoy!
@@LucasWorldTravel Thank you for this info! :)
I have never been to any Caribbean destinations out of US I have been to Hawaii twice but would love to visit the Dominican Republic, Polynesian Islands and other tropical destinations looks so beautiful and relaxing hot also 😊
All of the above is correct! We like it hot though so it suits us. Exploring the Caribbean has been so fun though. It’s definitely worth doing!
So informative, is tipping required? Is it similar to NY at 18% + USD?
Tipping is around 10-15%.
I really enjoyed the video. I'll be in Aruba this summer. I'm staying in a VRBO on Eagle Beach. I already have Red Fish on my list for dinner and you just confirmed my decision. I was planning on walking to Terrazza Italiana since it's so close to my condo but now I'm feeling concerned about the dog situation. Otherwise, I don't plan to walk in any residential areas during my vacation.
I would still walk. I don't consider Terrazza Italiiana to be a residential area. It's still mostly resorts and commercial properties. Plus, any dogs on the beach boardwalk are very friendly. So, I wouldn't worry about walking around Eagle Beach at all. It's the neighborhoods behind the Super Foods that have the more territorial dogs.
@@LucasWorldTravel thank you for providing additional details on the area I'll be staying in while I'm there.
Great video my wife is Panamanian and we have thus far only visited Aruba for a day, but we are planning a week visit. How are the food trucks for those of us budget minded individuals?
Yes, there are a few food trucks and we hear good things about them. We didn't really try any though.
Just got back it’s way to crowded beaches and roads are packed there were 3 cruise ships in in one day . Not like it used to be at all
Literally about to head to the airport in about an hour to head there and I have no idea what to do lol
You’ll be fine! Enjoy Aruba!
Good to know about the currency when paying by credit card. As a Canadian I don't want to convert to USD. How available is paying by debit card there?
They laccept credit cards nearly everywhere. I’m not sure about debit cards though.
Debit cards can be used at most places where they take any cards
Greetings from Aruba! We made it and have loved it. We head back to the U.S. tomorrow. I'm reading about how long it takes to get through the airport here to your gate.. My guess is your experience was different, because you traveled to another island rather than back to the U.S. If you know about the experience of leaving Aruba and traveling back to the U.S., you may want to share that.
Yes, we went to another island so we don't know about the experience going back to the US. As far as I know, you go through US immigration in Aruba, but I think as long has you allow the advised 3 hours before departure that you should be fine.
should I buy a unlocked phone and purchase a sim card at the airport, or can I add a e sim card to my iphone
I'd recommend an eSim. We've used Airalo many time and they have some of the best prices. Check them out here! airalo.pxf.io/c/4123914/1268485/15608
All i can say is don't go MISSING!
Can we pay bus with card... in bus, or do we need to buy before
You must use cash for the bus. They can make change in both Florin and dollars but they don’t take credit cards.
First time I see Lucas’ face so open. Although Aruba is a Dutch territory, the euro is not used?
Correct, Aruba was a Dutch colony but has been independent since 1986 and has never used the Euro.
What about cell phone service?
We use Google Fi as our cell phone provider so it works normally almost everywhere. Check Google Fi out here. g.co/fi/r/D3YJXA
If you don't want to change phone plans though, you can use an eSim for data. We like Airalo airalo.pxf.io/c/4123914/1268485/15608
Exchange rates got mixed up there. 1 Aruban Florin = $0.56 ( in US dollars)!
We are directly citing Google and the exchange rates we saw posted in stores. There is no mix up.
@@LucasWorldTravel exactly which you made that very clear in the video.
Can I drive over there
Yes, just show your license at the rental office.
Can I find work there as a cook???
We have no idea. You will have to look at the job boards and the hotel job postings for that.
In the Carribean, dogs are traditionally well trained to protect the property. As long as you keep walking, they won't go after you. If you stop or look like you want to go onto someone's property, then they might charge at you.
All I know of this dog in Aruba came from behind the fence crossed the street and followed us down the street barking and growling. It should not be that way. Guard dogs should be confined to the yard for everyone’s safety.
@@LucasWorldTravel I hear you, and I'm certain it was a terrifying experience. I was born in Jamaica but came to the US as a child, so I am familiar with and comfortable in each country's culture.
After 15 years in the US, I returned to Jamaica to spend time with my grandparents at their home in the country. When I got out of the car, their dogs immediately ran towards me, barking and growling all the way. With one word from my grandmother, they stopped in their tracks and returned to her. I stayed at her home for a month, and the dogs paid me no attention because of that first call back. She even had me feed them a couple of times (raw chicken with bones and other scraps). During that time, I was able to observe their behavior, which consisted of warning anyone and everyone not approved by my grandparents to stay away from the property line. Sometimes the dogs would give chase to ensure the potential intruder didn't try to be slick. I never saw them bite or attack anyone because everyone that pass the property got the message.
The only dog attack that I'm aware of was here in the US. My brother was very badly bitten at our friend's house in Washington DC. Her dog was poorly trained and only understood attack mode, so when he managed to escape from a locked room in the house and quickly found him in the livingroom preparing to leave with us for school. My brother's initial scream was terrifying. He continued to scream, however, because the dog had locked his jaw into the bite and wouldn't release. The adults at the house struggled to free my brother (age 9 at the time). The bite went to the bone and required an emergency room visit, bed rest for several days, and crutches for sometime thereafter.
Can't always count on this lol
@@user-bg5vv1zi7d On the islands, if you have dogs and they are biting people, the owner will be criminally libel and fined. Something else to know, dogs usually aren't treated as pets on the Islands. They are working animals trained to guard property or atleast alert the owner to an intruder.
Is it possible for us to agree that the Lucas's encountered one of many cultural differences between the islands and the US?
Hi! Thanks for the tips! Heading there in a week. First time traveling to Caribbean not “all inclusive”. Wondering what is it gonna be like…
You’re going to enjoy it! Plus you will get to explore the island at liberty as you won’t be tied to your resort.
Literally about to head to the airport in about an hour to head there and I have no idea what to do lol
So, how's Aruba? Everything going well?
@@LucasWorldTravel it’s chill, went to the natural bridge and California lighthouse yesterday and also the flying Fishbone. First night we went to zeerovers and chilled. It’s too hot and dry for my taste, but definitely an experience lol
@@elitealice Glad you are enjoying the chill vibe. Enjoy your vacation!
