Welcome to Aruba… Part 1 of 4! Also known as “One Happy Island”, this nearly 75 square mile slice of paradise definitely lives up to its moniker! We had the pleasure of spending a week exploring this beautiful and unique desert island and we truly enjoyed our time!
For this first video in our 4 part Aruba series we spent the day exploring some of the more popular areas and sites on the island like the capital city, Oranjestad; the 2nd highest point on the island, Hooiberg; the Aruba Aloe Factory & Museum; the Donkey Sanctuary; Eagle Beach, and MORE!

Really brave of you guys going to the Hooiberg at that time with the sun and heat 😅 and yes the sunrise and sunsets there are the best 🌅⛰️. I have watched this a few times, and dying laughing with you, when the donkeys were "mugging" Matt. Him leaving immediately, reminds me of ME, during a Drive thru Safari. We were in Texas, outside of Fort Sam Houston, one that you got to feed the animals. There were Ostriches or Emus, but they were running full speed towards our vehicle, and I screamed, and rolled up the window. Then I told my husband I was going to be brave, rolled the window down, and the bird's big beak, attached to his long neck, came pecking into the car. But it was so erratic, I swear he was going to peck my eyes out. I threw the food out the window, continued to say nope nope nope, as my hubby drove me to safety. What a drama queen 😂🤣

😂😂 It was a stressful situation! Lol... But yes, we ended up on good terms by the end! 😂😂 We probably should've read ALL of the guidelines/rules before entering the gated area. Like the one that said that if you try to feed the donkeys inside the fence that THEY WILL SWARM YOU! Lol... Can confirm in fact, they will swarm you! Lol... Thanks for watching!😊

We spent our honeymoon in Aruba 45 years ago! We only went back once on a cruise and didn’t get to see much. I remember the constant wind 45 years ago. It made the heat bearable. Definitely need to go back. Loved your video!!
Those stairs without the railing did look a bit terrifying. But I did comment out loud, ok miss Angel's Landing, right before you said, at least it had a chain. I then said , you're completely correct. 😁
My 16 year old son talked me into climbing Hooiberg with him. Pretty sure he was trying to kill me...almost positive. 🤣🤣 Love Aruba! We've been twice now and can't wait to start planning our third trip back.

Great video never went to the Dutch Pancake place we went to Lindas Pancakes The other restaurant yes very good. The donkey farm is great never brave enough to go in. We also went to the aloe place ended up buying Aloe for the sunburn. Super Foods is great everything you need. Can relate to the wind and sand. This video brought back many memories from our visits to Aruba. Looking forward to the next three video. We never climbed to the top what was tougher that or Dimond Head .

It was awesome! I just used it when I burnt myself with a curling iron and it healed it so fast & never got a scar! Going to Aruba for our honeymoon in 3 weeks! I cant wait! we are undecided if we need a car rental to explore the island. what do you recommend?
Aww... Congrats!!🎉🍾 🥂 So exciting! We definitely recommend renting a car if you want to explore beyond your resort area... Which we also recommend! Not that there's anything wrong with the more touristy areas (Palm Beach and Eagle Beach), but we just LOVED how chill and relaxing the beaches on the north end of the island were (Arashi Beach, Boca Catalina Beach, & Malmok Beach). And you may not need a car for your entire visit, but I don't think you would regret having one for at least a few days. I hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching! 😊 -Matt

The apartment that we rented (Turiban Plaza) came with 2 chairs and a small beach cooler! We hope you have so much fun in Aruba!

I'll be going to Aruba in June with a couple friends. Just curious about visiting the animal farms and then coming back into the US. Did they give you any issues? My friends are a bit concerned about doing that because the form coming back into the US ask if you have been in contact with any animals. Just curious?
We didn’t have any issues coming back. 🤷🏼♀️
Mat, where do you get your swimsuits?
I heard the storm hit a while back have the beaches been cleaned up?
We haven't been back since filming this in June/July of 2022, so we're probably not the best people to ask, but even when we were there right after the storm that rolled through during our trip, the beaches were great. Thanks for watching!
How,long did it take you to climb Hooieberg
It took us about an hour round trip, but that's including us hanging out at the top for 15-20 mins. Hope this helps! Thanks so much for watching!😊
