I wish I had started 3d printing a little while ago when I bought the a1 mini instead of 2 years ago with an ender 3 neo. I have printed more with the mini in a month an a whole YEAR with the ender 3 neo because the Bambu Labs printer just..... works. It just works. It prints. You want a thing and it makes the thing. Gone are the days of tinkering after every print. Bambu Labs is to 3d printing as apple is to phones.

I bought a mini to supplement my resin printer so that I wouldn't necessarily have to suit up just to print a simple file and I have not been disappointed. This little thing is a beast. Haven't had it for long so it's unclear how it will hold up over time, but it certainly is excellent so far.

Its my first printer and I have been using it to print much needed terrain for my wargaming hobby. No longer need to play with a sparse green mat and just some small trees.

You can print more on banbu printer because you can use nearly the WHOLE plate. This can be understated because on aPrusa, Creality, Anycubic machines the further you get from the center of the machine the less they print. So we usually start worrying after 75-100 mm from center in any direction. So to get 185 out of a printer to 250mm without sweating is pretty awesome and not commented enough on.... Anyone can do a benchy. Try a corner to corner table top gaming layout like you are without warping......good stuff! thx

This is exactly what I’m going through right now. I realize that this machine is completely useable so it makes it about the same size as my 220mm cubed machine. I’m about to buy a second one while’s it’s on sale

I received my A1 Mini a week ago - and this is my very first 3D printer! Still 'playing' with it at the moment, but will eventually start to try finding stuff for model railways! It is a great little printer though!

If it had an Apple logo on it, you wouldn't be surprised.

I have tremors, so I was lucky to be able to press my selection on the display with or without a speedy response. I found it much easier to use a stylus (one of those rubber things on the end of a ball-point pen). It made it much easier for my shaky hands and I do believe it's more responsive. You might give it a try. Good video.

Nice video - you can print a little poop guard that stops it flinging it so far, and a power cable bend-protector. I've just pre-ordered a mini as my first printer, can't wait

The non-detachable power cable issue . . . . 20 minutes with some snipers and a soldering iron and you can convert it to a standard IEC ("kettle") cable / socket. In fact if you don't want to cut a hole in the A1-mini's casing for a socket, you can put a plug / socket inline with the cable itself, so you'd have a short (say 10cm) cable coming out of the A1mini - with a female socket on the end - then just a standard IEC lead plus into that . . . which if you know what you're doing is a 5 minute job.

  • @abatter

I've been torn about whether to get the A1 or A1 mini. I'm leaning towards the mini. I have an Ender 3 that I dont enjoy because of the speed and quality, so the ease of use and speed of the Bambu line sound amazing. With the mini being $250 it seems like a no-brainer. I'm only unsure about the print size.

I've also seen reviewers comment that there are printable downloads for a custom mount to put the spools on top of the printer itself -- evidently mounts on top of the vertical "pole" of the printer. Others have commented that it works very well, but I have no experience with it.

@@GrayScalpMiniatures well, since i'm not printing very large items, I don't mind using a lot of supports and taking a lot of time. I just want bottom surfaces (large curved supported ones) to look nice. It seems like I'm just not getting a broad enough area supported. I want supports to wrap around curves but they're not really doing it. And if you had any tips on making the most of an AMS and support interface filament (PETG for PLA or vice versa) I'd be extremely grateful. So far my results have been underwhelming.

One of the issues I have with my Neptune 2s and 3 is first layer adhesion. I don’t why, I have adjusted it up and down and unless I use water washable school glue sticks I have repeated fails. How does this one do if I may ask? (look, viewer engagement!😉)

I have the A1 Mini...I think I've had 2 prints where the first layer had an issue. But washing with hot water and some Dawn dish soap fixed the issue with no glue needed. In between prints, I use 99% isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber towel to "wash" the bed. Bed adhesion has been great!

Using PLA and PETG there are very little in the way of fumes. Other filaments can be tricky and I would not print anything in a space without ventilation. The cleaning of the pieces is where you might get plastic particles.
