Cool little printer. The reason the AMS is external is so they can reuse that design for the larger A1 and A1 Max. Someones going to print a stand that relocates it above the unit very quickly.
Sure, I would have been personally happier with a larger X1 carbon, but this is probably the best move for Bambu. It's setting itself up to be THE printer for folks brand new to the hobby to pick as their very first printer.
Exactly. Looking to buy a printer right now to print a few parts a year. This seems to be the perfect starting point. Pre-orders start shipping in January in Europe though.
@@eriorellana89 I would say even if you're experienced, if you want a printer that just prints quickly with minimal fuss, get the Bambu P1S. If that's too expensive, get the A1. If you can afford more and want to treat yourself, get the X1. The X1 is really only a minor upgrade from the P1S unless you want to print with a lot of abrasive and uncommon filaments. If you want a printer for tinkering with, I'd recommend building a Voron.
For prints with infill or un seen spaces there should be an option to use those for the color transitions rather than purge the plastic entirely. It would reduce waste potentially dramatically. There's also simply printing with the blended filament, if you don't specifically need a hard break in the color, a bit of blended color might not be a problem at all.
Bambu studio has the option to purge into both infill and supports. And at least for the X1 and P1 series you can choose to disable the prime tower and reduce the ''poop'' amount to your liking. It's all customizable, it's possible to print multi color with almost no waste if you're smart about it.
There is an option for that, "purge into infill", you can also adjust the purge amount to 0 if you want it to blend into the next color.... so both options currently exist

@ironplatypus7393 I wonder much of the purge could simply be used as infill instead, so less is being wasted. Only fill in the set number of perimeters in whatever color, and then purge into the infill. It would mean that the infill would be a stop and go affair, basically only do as much infill as is needed to purge the color, but it'd surely cut down on waste.

Seems to me, if I wanted a small printer for a print farm and didn't need multi-color, a KP3S would make more sense. Same print volume, great print quality, uses standard off the shelf parts, touch screen, linear rails, and is priced under $200. Thanks for being honest not like other reviewers. The printer alone is a good idea but as a combo it’s too big. Also….why did they call it ‘A1 Mini’ 🤔 there’s no normal size ‘A1’ 🤣🤣
If you get to keep the printer free of charge, or your agreement is to review the product if they send it to you, you are sponsored, and this is a form of payment.
I would be more afraid for Creality and friends, but they will bake up something similar (or update ongoing projects). Equally, not all new cars are Teslas 😉
Gesh, you've been having all the issues with new printers. I feel the title and coverage is closest to my views on this right now, so I don't have a huge amount to add. I love that top had ghost model, and found it hilarious how you kept warning "the fan's about to start" and you noticed. Noctua fans don't have the airflow, so ignoring them, it feels like printer manufacturers have done everything BUT try to deal with fans to reduce printer noise. So the number of times this kicked on was really emphasized.
I feel like they are trying to corner the market of 3d printer like DJI did with drones. I wouldn’t get this but I can see myself getting it for my nephew or recommending it to ppl who want to get into 3d printing. I just wanna know is where the single filament goes if you just want to use one color and no ams unit. I definitely like the fast swapping nozzle. This has to carry over to the P1 series. Also, if they can place a small screen on this and a ,looks to be, better camera on this machine, I’m hoping they bring that to the p1 series and sell it as an upgrade. Smart what they did with the poop. I was wondering about that. The ams unit is dope. I mainly like the part where there are motors that hold the filament and feed it into the printer at the correct speeds. Cool printer all in all, don’t like all the tubes but that just a personal preference. I can see anyone who has a Bambu printer now bashing this but they will sell many printer cause it’s going to take over the “Best printer for beginners” title. NOW GIVE US A PRUSA PRINTER CLONE WITH MULTI SWAPPABLE EXTRUDER HEADS AND A BIGGER BUILD VOLUME PLEASE😊

I have a P1P and I think this would be a good additional printer
This looks like you could buy extra long ptfe tube, and if you had the space or capability, put the lite below or above the printer itself and run it that way. Still takes room but maybe a small nook somewhere would work 🤷🏻♂️😊👍🏻
Wait why did you say "newly announced P1S" in the intro of the video? That's been out for a little while now.
One of the first mods for this will definitely be a wall mount for the AMS and a 4020 or 5015 fan duct.
Thanks for being honest not like other reviewers. The printer alone is a good idea but as a combo it’s too big. Also….why did they call it ‘A1 Mini’ 🤔 there’s no normal size ‘A1’ 🤣🤣
Where can I get that cloud controller stand?
HoloProps Patreon! Sorry had to cut that little segment to help get the video down in time a bit. Turned out awesome though!
Please tell me you'll be reviewing the Creality K1 Max?
I'm still waiting for a multi color attachment for all my enders and creality printers
Wow, your video looks crisper than usual....
Did you upgrade
*Hides behind rock because I read your Twitter*
Not sure why the ejection mechanism has to pop filament out uncontrolled from the side - why not drop it off somewhere, into a box of some sort?
Would be nice if there were a way to use the original AMS unit with this. I mean, if you already have one, why buy another.
If you get to keep the printer free of charge, or your agreement is to review the product if they send it to you, you are sponsored, and this is a form of payment.
Wow Bambu is really pressuring Prusa on all fronts .
All hail the undying Monoprice Mini
I was hoping they would release an x1c-XL Like the larger one prusa released
The Geeetech A10T is $260 rn and it’s a 3 color printer, and has bigger print area. I think I’d rather get that
