gina i really love your channel! i'm not sure if i said this and i don't want to be redundant, but i'm glad somebody spoke highly of you on the dog grooming subreddit. you're always so kind and willing to respond extensively to anyone who wants to know more. keep up the amazing work! i'm a cat owner but i think dog grooming is so interesting and more technically complex than people give groomers credit for.
Thank you so very much! Your comment is not only incredibly appreciated, but your encouragement is the fuel that keeps this engine running! 🙏 Aw, I miss having kitties in my life and wish I had more on my channel! But thanks for appreciating the complexity of dog coats (it is a really big subject and am doing my best to explain it in bite size pieces.) Your feedback means the world! Sending my best to you and your feline(s), lol! 😻
And again, a matted doodle, oh how I wish their owners had researched more the grooming requirements of these dogs. There is sooo much information out there, seriously it's no excuse. Thanks for a simple breakdown for reasons to shave.
@@mountainstream8351 coat change is irrelevant; regular brushing prevents matting regardless 😊 oh, and regular grooming appointments as soon as they've had their vaccinations will also prevent matting coupled with regular home brushing . It really is that simple 😊
@@mountainstream8351I have 2 full coated havanese, 1 went through puppy coat change, I used many different slickers, brushes, grooming sprays, combs, you name it but I successfully got thru that phase. It's hard work but it's worth it. I also have given out slickers, free, to 2 doodle owners that had no clue about grooming. Both their dogs look so much better, education was key. P.S. my 2 havs have never had their hair cut ever, going on 6 years, my breeder/groomer friend is astonished at how amazing they both look.
I have 2 full coated hav, 1 went thru a coat change, I used multiple slickers, brushes, combs, sprays, it was difficult but figured it out. I have also given out appropriate slickers to neighbors for their doodles, Samoyed and Bernese because I care and also researched. My 2 have never been shaved nor cut down since we rescued them, 6 years now and my male is a stunning looking dog. @@mountainstream8351
Thanks, Dotty! I will say that the word on proper Doodle maintenance is getting out (people are doing better!), so I am staying positive that we're going in the right direction! 🤞 But little Charlie got swept up in coat change (and some pool activities), so he was not set up for success in this case, lol! Thanks so much for your comment! 🐾😍
