    Hey sweet Veronica.
    I have been a lurker for quite a while, but I have been wanting to thank you.
    For the moment I saw your artstyle I fell in love with it. I have been struggling so much with drawing myself, because of anxiety and perfectionism.
    Your videos made me able to draw again. I have never drawn the way you do, which made me able to feel less pressure and have fun. Every drawing I have made inspired by your style, brought me happiness and satisfaction. I haven’t felt that in years, so I’m very thankful I stumbled across your videos.
    I really hope you’ll keep creating videos, they bring me a lot of joy. I wish you the absolute best, I’ll always support you 🤍

      Hi darling! So nice to meet you :) Thank you so much for this comment. It warmed my heart. I'm really happy I'm being helpful with these videos, my main goal is to bring other artists the same help, motivation and comfort that I wished someone had given me when I was younger. So reading these comments really means a lot to me. I'll do my best to keep it up, and can't wait to draw more together :)

    Thank you so much for this honest art process! Its refreshing to see how even big youtubers or people on internet also struggle sometimes and show their process in art! Thank you so much ♥ ♥:)
    Your art style inspires me so much! And you've honestly re-lit my interest in art! Your art style is simple but also somewhat maximalistic? Its refreshing and amazing!

    This is by far your best video ever. It's comforting, informative, and gets me feeling like art is FUN again.
    I've been in a creative rut for years, I kept telling myself that art just isn't for me anymore. But seeing your whole, unfettered process- the fact that it's traditional (it feels like digit is all that's left!), using your phone to flip and check, the use of a grid to better catch mistakes (and you showing us how that can be done!), how much you erase/change/get ideas down on the page- it's all so genius, and it feels good to see how closely it resembles my own process. You just taught me so many techniques to use to break through issues I have in my own art, while also showing me a good mindset to have while creating art. I've been watching and trying for years to get this breakthrough, and you've done it in a measy 20 minutes.
    I can't thank you enough. For once in a long, long time, I'm excited to make art again! Thank you so so much for this invaluable video, you are truly my favourite (spooky) art teacher. 🖤

      THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS FEEDBACK! I had such a good time making this video so I'm super happy you all are liking it! To me it's very important to show fellow artists the "ugly" side, for it's a main factor in the act of making art! Nowadays we forget how much work, IMPERFECT WORK, requires to make something, so I'm very happy I was able to express this concept in a good way :) Thank you so much for your support and also for all your very kind words

    I was once told “If you are bored, you are boring.” It’s one of the most useful pieces of advice I ever heard, especially when it comes to finding inspiration in my art. Everything is fascinating if you are willing to search for why it is so.
    The funny thing is this advice was given to me talking about socializing and how to have a good conversation but I found it works pretty much everywhere in life. 😅

      Hi! I’ve been focusing on markers in the past couple of videos but I’ll definitely get back to my usual inked style! As for tips on hatching I’m actually very intuitive BUT I prepared a lesson before for my students about the basics of inking and hatching and I definitely can walk you through my notes from that lesson and provide some exercises 🫶🏻🦇♥️

    I’m not even through the video yet but the composition grid thing just blew my mind
    My sketchbook compositions always felt so “off” and unaligned with the rest of the page, kinda just floating… I figured everyone else just had better instinct about where they put stuff and how much space they took up and planning these things cohesively, while my sketchbooking process was more sporadic and chaotic.
    Why did I never consider drawing a non-permanent grid. Of course. Duh. I CAN ORGANIZE MY CHAOS.

    It's great to watch an honest process, I think Internet needs more like this and not fake processes.
    I also like that your processs is similar to me specifically because you use some references to create your own art.

    • @vespertiliu
      @vespertiliu  5 месяцев назад +1

      Absolutely! Using references is so important! It is very different from copying another artist’s work! Many people think using references is like cheating but we literally teach to use them in art schools!

    i keep getting stunned how good you are. Mind you I aspire to be like one of the greats (I know, I know), and studying quite a bit and therefore I'm aware of how hard it is to produce the work you do. But this video somewhat revealed some of your secrets. You said it; vibe. Your thought process was what was most interesting to me. Your design is intuitive and your mark making is excellent. Most of all, I enjoyed the vibe (again)it created. Thank you.

    Much thanks really good video. Mid last year was the first time i saw the work of Leonora carrington she is amazing now own an artbook. There have been so maney women ignored in art for example in the 19th - 20th century who were making the abstract spiritual art. Hilma af klint Georgiana Houhton and Sonia Delaunay made such great none objective works it is a shame they have been almost passed over up until recent years. Thank you for an informative tutorial.

    You said we can write questions you might would answer in an video but I'm not sure if that's a topic that's interesting enough, or if it's maybe too similar to the art style videos that exist. I don't want to know how to find my art style because I think that's covered quite well and even something that finds us? But how do I get confident on my art? that my style is fine as it is? accept that my art, my expression is fine/enough... (I don't speak of skill, we all can get better in things like anatomy or realism or color choice or whatever measurable skills)

    As a ginger, when I'm inking idk if I should fill in the hair, or leave it blank. Gingers in black and white photos have Grey hair, so I'm curious what u would do for a ginger character.

    • @vespertiliu
      @vespertiliu  5 месяцев назад +1

      Interesting question! I think I’d leave them white and focus on the texture and eventually add details to hint it’s ginger hair, like freckles on the skin for example. But actually, as you might have seen in my previous videos, for the longest time I’ve been drawing with 3 colors: black, white and red! And at one point I had this character who had red hair and I just went straight with a deep red while leaving everything else black and white :)
