Thank you for creating a "discover your art style" that is actually helpful! I keep telling myself to trust what I love but the nargles always get in 😝 I love that you say it's already within you. I learned I didn't have to change in order to be loved, and now I need to apply that to art 🖤
Suddenly I've realised that I would like to focus on children illustration since I really like cute stuff. You're right, we don't find our style because it was so suddenly, I wasn't expecting it.
It's my birthday today and I've been feeling the birthday blues. Turning 20 is so weird when I still feel like a kid. But seeing my favorite artist post a video on my birthday made me feel a little less sad 🥺🖤
Happy belated birthday 🥳 hope you feel better than yesterday. I'm fast approaching 40 and I still feel like a kid. I see this as a good thing because it drives me to try all sorts of hobbies, interests, and keeps you active 😊
The bouquet metaphor is so correct and clever. I’d love to see a video on how to consistently make art and art content for socials without getting burnt out
I remember a video that said "I'm not a youtuber, I'm an artist with a youtube channel ". I guess that's kinda the core of the matter. But yeah, I'd love to see a full video on that
the bouquet metaphor is such a good way to teach people how to be inspired by other artists and incorporating what you love the most about their art into your work WITHOUT stealing their essence!! my gorgeous talented spooky wise babyyy sensei 💅🏼💅🏼♥️♥️
this was extremely helpful. I must say, you're an excellent teacher. teaching is much more than knowledge and you have that 'more' in very large quantities. Thank you.
100 heads challenge was a good challenge i used to "find" my art style. Having to draw them so many times I was able to pick things i did and didn't like from each time i drew them and i started leaning more towards a certain way i draw
The metaphor for describing your art style “bouquet of flowers” is something that describes what your inspired from your favorite artist or ideas that come to you when making art, in my opinion
That’s actually a great video to keep in mind. I have to admit that finding an art style is not something you’re looking for, it’s something that will come to you
Wonderful video (and I love your art style!) - and especially the "practice with final pieces" is something that really resonates with me! All the studies and sketches in the world don't help me if I don't also finish actual illustrations or paintings. Love the flower analogy!
Thanks for these videos, I find them so motivational. I've been doing art for years but have found myself getting stuck in a mid-career rut. So great to have a fresh take on the process :-)
Love the bouque metaphor and your composition video was very motivating. I would love to see a video on how you create backgrounds and scenes that complement characters
I really appreciate how you give us assignments with your videos. It helps me so much! Also, what pens are you using for inking in your sketchbook? I'm trying to settle on a new pen to use that doesn't bleed with Copics.
Hi! I'm using Ohuhu fineliners! Actually I always forget to mention they gave me a code for my community! You can use code "vespertiliu" to get 10% off of your order on their website :)
A person also needs to find out what art material they find works best for them, some people are good at graphite drawing but cannot use colored materials no matter how much they try, some are watercolor inclined, others ink is their thing. You should never push yourself to use something your not good with it will only cause frustration and discourage from further growth.
Hi much thanks you have very good teaching methods i find your tips very handy as someone starting the drawing arts when being as old as dinosaur poo cheers.
I have never read the HELLBOY comic books - i will meow admitting that 😹 - but i did see that 2004 movie, and it was OK 😸👍. Also, i could read the other comic books, SPAWN and LOBO, and possibly get some examples for drawing my own art works 🖋️🖊️✏️🖍️ 😺👍. Happy meowing drawing Caturday 🐈🐾 from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮 😺👍
@@vespertiliu If there's one movie from Guillermo Del Toro - which could definitely give meow some inspirations for drawing my own art works - that would be PAN'S LABYRINTH. I love that movie 😺👍. I better watch it, again 😹!

Your last sentence is SO PRECIOUS AND IMPORTANT. It is literally what took me 30 years to unpack. You beautifully merged it into one sentence T___T
Suddenly I've realised that I would like to focus on children illustration since I really like cute stuff.

Tried to draw like someon else. Tried semi realism. I sooked at it. So I developed my own crude, weird-4ss, shetty Art style and Im happy with it.
