    The clickbait title is misleading!!
From listening to this full interview I have come to the conclusion that he actually still does have tinnitus but has the tools not to focus on it. I have tinnitus for 25 years. Caused by noise induced hearing loss from not wearing proper ear protection. In the last couple of years my right ear has got really bad. The volume of ringing is really high. I will definitely try some of the techniques he has mentioned.
When I go out to the pub to socialize I will wear ear plugs. Everyone should. It's surprising how much easier it is to have a conversation in a loud environment like a crowded pub when using them. You can hear everyone perfect and no need to shout.
When it comes to food I find eating a lot of sugar or salt can make the tinnitus volume high. Just eat good wholesome foods. Avoid added sugar and salt ,sweets, chocolates, fizzy drinks etc.
    All the best. JohnO

      Hi John
That's for taking the time to comment. I'm afraid I have to disagree, the title is 100% on point. Without being able to go into too much detail Jamie has done incredibly well to detach himself from the negative influences of his tinnitus. Which I can also echo with my experiences with tinnitus too.
I do agree with all of your other points! Thank you for sharing :) Matthew

@@TheHearingGuy Hi Matthew. But he still has tinnitus. This means he can hear it if he wants but chooses not too. No such a thing as silence if you have tinnitus. EXAMPLE: I can hear it in my ears right now as I talk about it to you. This is because I am paying attention to it as I write this comment. In another few minutes when I get busy working again I will not notice it, but it is still there. So there is no such thing as silence when you have tinnitus. :)

@@JohnOsCreations thanks again. No worries we’ll disagree. The main thing is that his tinnitus no longer owns him. Have a great day

I got tinnitus nearly 2 years ago. I've slowly gotten use to it however, I'm experiencing intermittent clicking/thumping sounds and it's far worse than the constant ringing, it feels like my eardrum is spasming. I've spoken to an audiologist about it but they weren't much help and just told me to ignore it.

for me it's both stress and sound. i wear earplugs and earmuffs when vacuuming, using the blender, etc. it all helps. white noise machine is good too. good points about not going too loud. i play guitar and every 6 months, when I am feeling great, I turn it up and then suffer for days or weeks after. ive had it about a decade- get used to it most days as long as i don't push it. it's a drag though since i was finally getting good at guitar to be so limited e.g., can't play with a band or I will pay big time afterwards.

@@TheHearingGuy I stay on top as much as it stays on top of me. Some days are better than others. I can even achieve silent periods which I value. Not sure the mechanism of action on play there- would like to figure it out, bottle and sell it. When it feels good, like today, I tend to push it e.g., play my guitar a little loud and it comes right back. It's a tricky thing. Wearing ear plugs helps. Stress also has some strange connection to it. In some ways I like it- it's a built in stress detector. It's just a drag not being able to play my music how I would like to (w/both ears and no plugs at a decent volume.) I suppose my condition keeps my wife and my neighbors happy.

Try making peace with it. Tinnitus becomes a horrible cycle because the more you hate it the more it attacks you. Vipassana meditation helped me a lot because it’s about observing the sensations (including your tinnitus) and making peace with it. After I did a 10 day retreat it literally reduced like a 80%. Not saying that the solution is this technique. Just that making peace with it and accepting it makes things much easier. Things will get better ❤️‍🩹
