    Great vid! I have a pair of these due to tinnitis (I play drums in a progressive-folk rock band). I have used the earplugs for playing in a Killswitch Engage cover band, a Metallica-style metal situation, and my regular full-time progressive band. These earplugs are amazing in every way and my ears have been doing a lot better on stage and off when i use these for performance and practice.
    The only issues I have had with these are the price and the magnets. They are very expensive and the quality of the material feels cheaper. I understand why they are rhe price they are, but it would be nice if it was brought down even a little bit.
    Now: magnets. I had the magnets detach twice now. I contacted Minuendo and they have reimbursed me $20CAD for fixing rhe earplugs myself. Very great customer service. Even though this has happened, i still highly recommend these.

    Thanks for a great review - really professional and informative! You've really helped me justify the cost of these. I am buying them for when I'm drumming to avoid making my Tinnitus worse.

    Hey Matthew! Great video! Not sure about a magnet in the case, but the buds are magnetic which allows you to "fasten" the buds together while you have them attached to the leash around your neck, but not plugged into your ear. A very nice feature 👍

      Hey KCBass, yes I agree! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Matthew

    Definitely a game changer, although I wonder about migration for vocalists. A little concha scaffold like on BOSE QC earbuds would have been a great optional

      Yes you're right, although I havent had issues with migration I'm not much of a singer. It would be interesting if they can develop a sleeve that could be retro fitted as an add on and lock into the helix/concha. Thanks for watching.

    I recently started hearing the ringing of tinnitus on my left ear. I work in the Fire Alarm industry and due to testing and the general loud atmosphere of construction sites and power tools I am looking for a way to prevent any more damage and mitigate the ringing. seeing a video like this that is so informative makes me justify this as a purchase.

    Interesting, although for a concertgoer the price is similar to a custom made hearing protection. In the last few years of using "musician" protection I have not found a moment, when I'd need to change the level of protection (I mean most if not all events I go to are responsible enough to keep the sound levels in the "safe zone"). So between those two I'd go for the comfort of custom fit, especially for a music festival where I have some kind of plugs in for most of the time (I sleep with plugs on festivals, and can't imagine sleeping with these in).
    And as for musicians, they are mostly using IEMs now.

    incredible review - thanks - I think I might dive in and trial at some techno events... agreed the 'clicked steps' or even small dots to know the levels (when removed to see therefore defeating the main benefit) would be a great improvement. I'll follow the 'landlord timer lights' rule where 'half-way' is between 30 seconds and 30 minutes lol. Only dbuds have a 'slider' that shifts between two fixed levels of -11and -24.... so these would make reasonable alternative at £45.

      Hey Designer_London, Thank you for watching and your great feedback! Ill check out the dbuds. That's great of you to suggest them! Have a great day.

    _What do you think to adjusting the attenuation on your hearing protection?_

  • @Ramdapanda
    @Ramdapanda 2 года назад

    Not sure if it changed since this video was publish but looking at their site now the warranty "only" covers 1 year which is a bit of a shame. 10 years is definitly a really long time to offer warranty for but 1 year on the other hand feels really short for its price point.

    I got tinnitus from staring too close to a speaker at a concert. I’ve had to stop going to any concerts because of it. I wonder would these let me return to concerts and stop my tinnitus getting any worse?

    Than you for the review - would these kinds of ear plugs lower wind noise when cycling, while still allowing for hearing traffic? The alternative (Cat Ears Airstreamz) look a bit ridiculous and don't work that well.

    U mentioned a custom set of tips could be made...would that be from Minuendo?

    • @TheHearingGuy

      Hey Joe
      That depends where you are. In the UK you'd need to see an audiologist, they'll take an impression and should be able to send it to the earmould lab that they work with. Thanks for watching. Matthew

      Hey Drone
      Great question. I think it really depends on the individual and the capacity in which you play. You'll see from the video that they both have their pros and cons. Thanks for watching.

    Do they really protect up to to 120 decibels? I'm a machine Operator and the normal 34 nrr doesn't seem like enough that we are provided with. Thank you!

    • @TheHearingGuy
      @TheHearingGuy  3 года назад +1

      Hey Victor, Thanks for watching! It al depends on how tightly they're fitted in your ears. Do you need to be able to communicated at the same time as using the protection?
