    The only way to stop homelessness is to give jobs to people. Problem with some homeless people is that they choose to be so because they don't want to work. Or give excuses. Not all. Some are in mental issues and abuse or being fired.

    • @InvisiblePeople
      @InvisiblePeople  2 года назад +2

      that is not true. Homelessness is far more work than having a job, and there is never a day or vacation days. A homeless person has to work hard every day just to survive. Walking miles to get food, water, or find bathrooms. You can't lock a tent, so there is no security. People and police harass homeless people constantly. If you are sick, you still have to recycle or panhandle to get money to survive. There's NO laying in bed to get better. Imagine living without bathrooms or showers, and no privacy. HOMELESS PEOPLE ARE NOT LAZY! Again - homelessness is far harder than any job!
      The leading cause of homelessness is the lack of affordable housing and lack of a living wage. In America, minium wage has not changed in 12 years while rents continue to skyrocket

    • @elizabethd5264
      @elizabethd5264 2 года назад +1

      @@InvisiblePeople Never said they were lazy. Sometimes it's a choice. Of course sometimes its something worst. But you can't deny having jobs readily available would not be a good solution. It's whether they want to work. Eventually you can save enough to afford housing. Never said being homeless was easy. Who would even think that. But working and waking up and being responsible is different. As hard as homelessness is, it's far more convenient on their own time and terms. Not saying they are deliberately lazy, but I have spoken to a few, and some refuse even food from me and just want money straight up. So it depends on the situation. It's different if someone was laid off and unable to find work.

    This guy is being honest, at least. I must admit, I am a bit annoyed at him. I am homeless myself, sleeping in a tent, not far from where I work. No easy money for me, I work for every penny I have, no hand outs from the public for me, I don’t ask for it nor do I want it. I used to help a young homeless guy with money, but stopped because he always had excuses as to why he could not get work. I don’t want anyone becoming dependent on me or anyone, better he stands on his own two feet. And if they don’t want to, then they don’t deserve it.
    I will help someone, but they have to put in some effort themselves or they will never be off the streets. A lot of the guys don’t want to be off the streets, they just want the hand outs and don’t want to get up and go to work on time, like the man in this video.

      @@TimTatarsky I am in Bristol, been sleeping in in tent, going from one agency job to another since Dec 2017. Currently working for DPD, who I thank are a great employer. I could get a flat, somewhere, but just don't want the stress of paying endless bills and mounting debt, which is what drove me to homelessness in the first place. The last flat I rented had a damp problem, and I hated living there. I have found that asking family to use their address as a care of address, to gain employment is the best way to go while homeless.
      I was thinking about getting a camper van, but I am not happy with what I am seeing happening with green initiatives, petrol and diesel seem to be on their way out, and second hand vans are rocketing in price, along with parts, so am staying in a tent for now. I hide my tent in a rural area. I found a great spot, a tiny wood, next to a motorway with a river bank cutting off access to the back, where no one goes anywhere near.

    I saw this guy on the tube a long, long time ago, late at night leaving central London. I ran onto the carriage before the doors closed behind me & I can tell the guy I passed had been drinking (stank of booze). After the tube doors closed he started yelling out. I thought he was yelling at himself or everyone present - couldn’t work it out, which was uncomfortable as I was on my own, I decided next stop I’d change carriages.. but in the space of 2mins it turned out he had it in for another passenger. I looked around & there were two other people in the tube carriage, plus him. Not anywhere near him! They avoided looking at him, me too. Then just as the tube was about to stop at the station, he completely walked up, crossed the carriage & punches this man (a business man minding his own business) right up into his nose and breaks it. I heard the crack. The man was in total disbelief - a grown man writhing around in pain and crying his eyes out. Totally unexpected. Traumatised. This wise guy kept ranting about Londoners being better than what they think they are.. I managed to drag the man off the train carriage before the doors quickly shut again & steered him toward exit escalators. I ran up the escalators to get help. No guard. The victim was devastated and just wanted to go home. I called the police when we got to ground level but they took forever to respond. This guy got away. I swore I’d never forget his face and here he is. Drugs or being so sloshed you can’t think straight in my experience creates monsters. The actions these people do to themselves and others in this state is truly horrifying.

I receive £147 a month from the government, straight into my bank account. and that's to tax and insure my Mazda Bongo van to sleep in at night. But I'm left with no food or clothing, and hardly any means to be clean. I was in a long term realtionship for over 20 years, and when it ended I signed the house over to my Ex and Children, I cannot get help from anyone, I dread waking up every day as I fear no hope at the age of 43, I'd much rather going to prison if I'm honest but I'm being good so I'm always in my Children's lives...... You know you don't mean that about EVERYONE....
      Now you KNOW some people don't deserve a home, or even a life, right?
      (Yes, I'm being sarcastic, for certain reasons.)
      Some people who have been convicted of certain crimes, whether they actually did those things or not, are treated differently, no matter if their debt to society has been paid in full.
      I know someone who was convicted of something he didn't do, simply because he was young, and signed a confession after over 9 hours of harassment by the LEOs questioning him.
      Now his life is completely ruined for the rest of his life, and he's been homeless for over 4 years, and because of the wonderful, God fearing hypocrites in the area where he lives, he'll most likely die homeless, especially after just being diagnosed with a progressive respiratory illness, and sleeping rough.
      So I have to believe that most of the time, most people mean (especially all those God fearing church going hypocrites) that only SOME people deserve a roof over their heads.
      And yes, I'm angry that certain people have to live in these situations, because things seem to work differently for them, for some reason.
      The person I'm referring to is actually my son, who I try to help as best I can, just to try to help him survive, because he's actually given up on himself, due to his situation, and is becoming severely depressed, and isn't even trying to take care of his medical condition now, because he said why should he care what happens to him now, he doesn't have a life anymore.
      For a Mom, it's the hardest thing to hear your child say, even if he's an adult.
      And, before you ask, I can't even allow him into my apartment, because it's a government run building, so he isn't even allowed in to visit me.

      @@janicem9225 who are we to judge them??

    • @jasongates-
      @jasongates- 2 года назад

      @@janicem9225 "God fearing?" If they put on a shirt that says "church" and it has a cross on it, then they help everyone but the homeless, they're not God fearing. Even the book of James talks about that. Chapter 1, if someone knocks on your door to ask for a coat, and you tell them "Go forth and be warm," and then you shut your door in their face, what good does that do? That chapter says. Give them your coat, then they will "be warm." These "church" people you're talking about need to hear that. But, just know that the people you're referring to aren't EVERYONE in the church. It's just THOSE church people. That's a bad group in the church.
      Also, the reason you're so angry about it all is because he's your son. You love your son. I'm sorry he was falsely convicted. But, most people should have a home. If you're going to say someone does not deserve a home, only say that about convicted murderers. Not about groups that you don't like.
      And, be just as angry at the government as you are at the **cough **cough "church." It's not fair for them to not allow you to have visitors, especially when he's your son. It's not like you're letting people move in who aren't on the lease. It's not like you're throwing lavish parties with whomever attending. Direct that anger equally to the government, for that, as you are the church, for not helping your son. It's a government run building, but it's also your home. You should be allowed to have visitors in your home. Especially family. Especially for Christmas or birthdays. That rule is not fair. Just because it's "government run," they think they can make whatever rules they want, no matter how unfair, and unfortunately, the only thing we can do about it is not live there if we don't like the rule.
