@@virgilhilts3924how does that heal our societies traumas? Many children are abused and if they don't receive adequate trauma therapy they use substances to treat their emotional pain. It's our sick society with the rampant CSA. What we force on people is unnatural.
Why do you believe certain humans are expendable? Fear?

I'm glad I live an area where we don't trip about homeless people. There was a homeless person sleeping right across a sidewalk. People made sure he was okay and looked out for his needs then found a comfortable shady grassy area for him in front of a nice condo community. The condo complex didn't mind at all. People are people.

This good man that talked about his homeless story reminded me of that . Wish him the best for his future. He is a very humble man for sure!!! He's well educated and has a very strong spirit. He uses that knowledge to survive in the world he lives in. It's so sad that he's having to live the homeless life, he deserves so much more than this!! He needs to be given a home and the chance to speak for the homeless to help figure out a real solution for homelessness. He of all people knows what the problems are and if only given that chance he could change the world of the homeless and how the world feels about the homeless!!!

To all the christians in the comments. God didnt end 12 years of homelessness for him, and only an evil god would do such a thing.
Jesus was a cult leader, nothing else.
We cant use dieties as an excuse to pray away the suffering. We have to make the world better ourselves.
Jesus aint comin back. Just saying.

There's so many beliefs out there. Coming from a minority religion I was taught not to rely on prayers and begging for the world's problems to end. It may feel good but it's just filler. Actions speak louder than words as the saying goes.

San Francisco sending homeless people to other states

    • @notadvertiserfriendly6084

Fact: The “Journey Home” program sends homeless people *not originally from SF* back to their previous location. Many homeless people in SF are not from SF. So SF got fed up with other CA cities and other states passing their problems on to SF.
If you’re outside of CA it probably won’t affect you much because a small portion of homeless people in SF are from other states.
I know certain political parties love to talk shit on SF, but tbh i think it’s a fair response to other cities and states failing to address their own homelessness problems. All these homeless people coming in to SF from other places puts unfair strain on the SF social services system.

My states largest city has spent over 25 million taxpayer dollars over the last few years on a "Tiny Home Village" for vagrants that includes treatment, rehab, skill building, edu, counseling, etc, etc, etc. It has remained nearly empty since day one, yet the streets directly outside the facility are littered with camps. When asked why they do not use it, the answer is always the same... "Too many rules"... With the main one being no drugs or alcohol inside the facility. That should tell you where their priorities are... Getting drunk and/or high.

I do a little research. Biden has invested more in preventing and ending homelessness than any other president. If you look at how this all started, Ronald Reagan cut cut $15 billion worth of affordable housing funding which is about $35 billion and today’s money that started all this. You’re a Trump supporter. Trump did absolutely nothing to help the middle class or lower income. he only helped the very rich which created an $8 trillion deficit.
Democrats do dumb stuff too, but if you’re going to blame homelessness on a political party, you’ve gotta look for the right

All of the trillions in such handouts come from the taxPAYer. So every time you people demand more "free stuff" from government you are hurting yourself by taking more out of your own pocket. No different than when you demand businesses pay higher taxes, those costs are simply passed along to you.

If you're homeless for 12 years, you ain't trying to get off the street. Simple as that. He's exactly where he wants to be based on the effort put in. In reality, the real homeless that can be saved, the ones that actually want to do what it takes to get off the streets, are generally homeless for 6 months or less before they get back on their feet. We need to stop focusing on the people who are what can be described as professionally homeless. There isn't anything to save. They're exactly where they want to be, based on the effort put in. Being not homeless comes with costs and responsibilities that people like this do not want. You can't just give everyone a home, because bills need to be paid, stuff needs to be repaired, taxes need to be paid, etc. You give everyone a "free" home, "free" utilities....it still won't last, because eventually stuff needs maintenance and replacement, so stuff crumbles when it isn't done. Nothing is free though. Everything costs someone something. Free shelter for one, is enslavement of the ones who provide it with the sweat of their brow. Free isn't free. Free is slavery by a different name.
