For anyone wondering about the black magic that is a steam injector, it uses a series of nozzles that forces steam into the water to increase it's velocity to force it into the boiler against it's own pressure. So basically instead if attempting to increase the pressure of tbe water, it just increases the speed it moves at to ram it past the check valve. It's ingenious, really. Thank the Scottish.
@@amtrak_121 No, it just puts water in the boiler from the tender to make sure there is still something to turn into steam! Can't have steam without water.
IT APPEARS IT HAS THE SAME BOOTH BURNER NOZZLE AS THE ONE ON 3751 !! AFTER CLEANING AN HOT FIREBOX FLOOR, I WAS READY TO GET OUT THE FIRE BOX DOOR , THEN THEY HANDED ME THE SLOT CLEANING BRASS TOOL! I FINISHED THIS TASK, EAGER TO COOL OFF IN THE 95 DEGREE COMFORT IN THE CAB!! KEEP THEM ROLLING BROTHERS!!👍👍
Man that tf2 music makes me kinda sad a bit. Not cause of the work here, but cause of how _atrocious_ the state of the game is rn. If you’ve seen the bot situation ya probably know what I mean. Good work as always keepin ol’ 2926 alive
Yes. We had normal triangular chucks that are used across a majority of railroads they worked fine for restoration when the engine was in pieces. however we learned if the engine is full of water and oil the chucks wouldn't hold the loco. So we got some very large chains put handles on them and they work much more efficient at holding the locomotive in place.

@@manitoba-op4jx right, the steam condenses as it hits the water which is great because you're not wasting as much potential energy
and let me guess: that multiplies the amount of power the locomotive can output?

I got worried as soon as "Right behind you" from TF2 started playing 😂
As a former US NAVY BT/Boiler technician, this is pretty cool.

...not anymore?
Excellently done video keep up the good work!
This is a beautiful living machine .
Maybe it would be good to make a casting of the burner assembly you can have a replacement.
Great informative video, thank god that people know how to work on these locomotives!!!
Thank you for that video! It's cool that you showed how you are firing up 2926.
Any plans to run up towards Trinidad, CO? It would be interesting to see steam run on the old mainline.
all aboard 2926
I really hope you guys can do a longer mainline run to Ft. Worth on BNSF. Time to give UP a run for their money
Can you make video about Santa Fe 3751
What is a headless Man?
Are those some sort of wheel chocks he’s putting in at around 1330?

When you guys started 2926 I thought it was amazing also wished you blew the whistle for the video. But keep 2926 rolling
