We just hit 4 thousand subs lets go!
@@atsf2926 that’s awesome! Now let’s get to 5k and onward!
Congratulations! I'm also making a documentary on your beloved steam locomotive by the way.
Man that whistle and the chugging sound is such a beauty, and you can tell that 2926 was just getting warmed up, she wants to be pulling a passenger train and roaring down the tracks and letting the rest of the city of Albuquerque and the whole state of New Mexico that The Duchess has returned. 🚂

@@daniel17319boowomp steam locomotives have been around for 2 centuries already things aren’t gonna fall apart because you expect them to
If I ever own any trackage in and around the LA or Albuquerque area notify me for availability of 2926 or 3751 for passenger run
@@Nate-sq9vd that would be an excellent idea if that ever was a possibility but that's a hell of a dream.
@@TheSteamGuy5125 sadly yes best chance is if Amtrak feels sorry for stopping excursion services
I never get tired of seeing this old girl run: I swear she's the happiest engine I've ever seen.
Whether it's 3751, 2926, the love of steam that you guys bring just makes my heart sore that the younger generations understand exactly where we came from, and to take pride in the Machinery that was made by the older generations and to keep it alive for the rest of us.
Thank you crew of 2926 for keeping the spirit that made this country alive again.
I am pleased that 2926 is restored and running. I do hope one day 3751 and 2926 will be back together and do an excursion.
Meetup in Williams, AZ for a double-header run to the Grand Canyon. I'm pretty sure both NMHR and SBRHS are in talks to do that someday in the hopefully not too distant future.
The vision and goal to have 2926 housed back in the old ?ATSF shops is 🔥🔥🔥
May that become a reality!!!
The journey, the photo shoot, the overnight stay, the run back to 2926’s current shed and this video - all beyond excellent!!
Pollute who gives a hoot
@@daniel17319 who gives a hoot what you think?
I love seeing 2926 run, especially with the shops, because this is the last steam engine that my great grandfather worked on in the shops. Kudos to you all and I hope to see 2926 really get to stretch her legs in the future!
Someday a portion of the Roundhouse could be rebuilt, run it as an interactive museum with the states help.
Anything can happen. Never say never.
@@markhenry5294 So very true.
@@tropicalties3806 Sometimes, *we* have to be the ones to bring a dream into reality.
something like the Oregon Rail Heritage Center in Portland, OR. The City of Albuquerque has big plans for that whole Railyard area, converting the old shops buildings into a public space with retail stores, restaurants, green space, etc., which does appear to include leaving space for a rail museum.
This is EXACTLY what a REAL Steam guy loves to see. No more in and out stuff. As a HUGE GTW guy, there was little to see, (especially on video), of 6325's re-build except Jason Johnson's EXCELLENT still photos. (P.S. He's they CMO of the T-1 project if you're unfamiliar with the name). That's another story, but ya'll "nailed" it here...'nothing left to the imagination here. Keep up the excellent work and 'can't wait to see her double headed with 3751 on the main. God Bless your Blood, Sweat and Tears by bringing this "Monster" back to life !!!
Absolutely beautiful!!!! Ecstatic to see some of the younger generation still excited about our heritage!!!!!❤
🍻cheers, TO THE 2900S
I ran from Needles to Winslow and all over California. I’m about to end my career and retire. I’m glad people like this group exist.
Thank for filming the video.
That is the most BEAUTIFUL STEAM ENGINE I've ever seen!
Not to mention that whistle. Yeew!
Something beautiful and spiritual hearing 2926 roar from inside the shops, like a ghost from the past being the voice of her sisters preserved and deceased.
"Keeper 'er movin'."
amazing as always guys, lets keep her running for year to come
2926 could easily be the most beautiful restoration I’ve ever seen. Three cheers to the entire team of volunteers! Looking forward to seeing 2926 in person!
I may be a Northeastern railfan, but this makes my heart skip a beat I can't even put into words how joyful this makes me feel and the stack talk is beautiful i hope you guys reach your goal of making the engine house near the turntable 2926's home and I am just flabbergasted how far you guys went from home base even though i was not there seemed like one hell of a trip
That these guys have got this monster up and running is beyond awesome. The future looks bright.
I'm so excited for what the future is in store for this engine, and hopefully we'll she her thunder down the mainline to the Grand Canyon
Oh so well done on the composition of this video - visions of spaghetti westerns abound
I love Greenbriars but Santa Fe Northerns just look so damn good. I hope you fellows succeed in creating your dream of getting a Northern into the Albuquerque shops again.
Amazing work by everyone involved! You should all be proud of yourselves for the work that has been done, no matter how big or small. I look forward to seeing the baggage car returned to ‘Santa Fe’ silver splendour (maybe with shadowlining?) with your groups name on it. Are there any plans to acquire other ex- Santa Fe rolling stock as well?
For the railyard, I’m sure I speak for many others when I say that it will be glorious to see 2926 return “home”. Here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada the old roundhouse (ex-CN?) was repurposed into a railway museum with operation turntable, furniture store and brewery (Steamwhistle Pilsner) so this could be a potential idea to pitch to the city. I hope that some of the old machine shops and the transfer table will also be used to house, repair and restore future railway equipment as well as maybe be turned into other potential business development opportunities not only for your organization but for the city as well.
Whatever happens, best of luck and may every single one of you carry your heads held high for the amazing work that you have done.
Your best video yet! Well done.
I hope one day, we can see these mighty Engines again, working along side with the Disesl and Electric Engines, maybe one day tho.
Outstanding effort and a huge thank-you to all those volunteers that made this possible. It's great to see another steam locomotive saved and back on the high iron... BUT... can't we have at least one without 26L and digital TMS? It completely ruins the cab and seriously takes away from the restoration. Oh, and as for the air-ride seats? Come on, that's just silly! Those of us in the steam community need to work harder (recognizing how incredibly hard many work already!) to get away from this trend toward "resto-mod" and work toward true restoration.
I'm just glad to be here.
Fantastic locomotive! Hope you guys can get her out on the main and up to speed some day.
The generators on 2926 sound like the p ws on a Boeing 757 on full throttle
I hope this is all leading up to an excursion. Maybe to L.A. to meet up with #3751. I bet that trip would sell out in hours! Santa Fe, all the way!
She’s running good 😊😊🖤🤍
GREAT production. Thank you !
🥰 I remember going to the park to see this engine. Was very sad when it dissappeared. So HAPPY to see it back up and running.
Great job team! 👍👍😁
Would love to see part of the roundhouse re-built to be the home for the locomotive as well as the locomotive shops in some fashion, maybe a small portion for rebuilds and the other as display for railroad artifact and or motive power for the town (cars/trucks/plane etc)
As previous donors to the cause and active donors for where we live and donate (North Carolina Transportation Museum) we realize this could be done. Hopefully before the locomotive shops are lost forever!
What is the story on the cabooses in the lot next to old beer building? Those would be nice to house in the shops for display
love the video and learning the history of such an important state locomotive.
I need to take a trip and see it in person. Nice video.
Yall love using TF2 Soundtracks do ya?
Everybody gangsta till 2926 is relettered for Mann Co.😳
Always a treat to see big steam stretching its legs. Here’s to a future of 2926 running mainline excursions galore out of the old shops.
Also, I notice the underbody generator that the tool car has, and I presume there has also been more progress made on its Amtrak certification. I for one would LOVE to see an in depth video behind the process of taking that car and getting it Amtrak certified. To my knowledge, it would be the first video on YT to do that. Also, massive props to you guys for Amtrak certifying the tool car. AFAIK, y’all’s car is roughly one of three or four fully Amtrak certified tool cars out there, because there’s the 4449’s, the 261’s, the 3751’s future tool car, and y’all’s tool car that could theoretically be smacked into the middle of an Amtrak train and everything be fine from an operational standpoint. All air hoses laced, HEP, MU, and COMM cabling plugged up and working, all that fun stuff.
Mind boggling video of Santa Fe 2926.
Subscribed!
I was there the Tuesday before you guys moved her.. dropping of rebar to the metal supply company next door loved hearing the whistle. wanted to make an excuse for the truck to break down so i could get a good loot athe the 2926 but alas no i could not oh well maybe next time she sure sounded good
It'd be something to see 2926 haul one of those autorack trains out of town, either way, great to see BNSF letting her limber up on their rails. Hopefully sometime in the future 2926 will get to stretch those big legs.
The tracks in Albuquerque are actually owned by the New Mexico Department of Transportation.
Love it steam on forever ❤🎉 I seen The RailRunner at work going through Albuquerque New Mexico
19:50 what a perfect coincidence to have Ex ATSF C44-9W 606 sitting there.
I didn't know that engine was ex ATSF. Thats pretty cool!
What's the deal?
Love the 26 brake stand
all aboard 2926
Seems like yall hit some higher track speed this time!
ALL HAIL THE POWERFUL BUSH
Sounds like 2926 is loosening up nicely. Hopefully she'll get to stretch those big legs.

@@daniel17319lmao shut up it’s a steam locomotive
@daniel17319 the more time the fireman gets the cleaner she'll run. Black smoke is wasting fuel, the closer the crew can get to clear stack the better.
@@bov634I have been trying to explain some of this stuff to this daniel guy, but of course he’s just in denial. He just wastes his time making stupid comments.

Brilliant!
What’s the story behind the stored cabooses along the main line?
I hope that this locomotive 2926 arrive in Mexico city, how the locomotive canadian pacífic 2816
Know what I'm thinking? I'm thinking that old Turntable yard would be the perfect place to have a Grand Heritage Steam Meet up. Get all the heritage steam loco's across the US that are in service again do a meet up there. Roundhouse may not exist but where the rail laid could be fixed up to support a lot of Loco's. That would be the rail event of the century right there.

HAIL THE BUSH
Love bush.
Bush love back!
The prodigal daughter comes home. Alas, the walls are torn asunder, her family gone.
This time to visit, in future to rebuild and breathe new life.
(New Mexico always can use some rain.)
I was so happy to actually catch the esthetic the rain brought in the video
some old railroad men rolled around in their graves when 2926's whistle was heard throughout the former shops. their help would be needed again soon.
Look at the size of those drivers! You know she can easily go past 100 mph!
Love that sound but I have a question could you schedule a excursion from Albuquerque to Roswell New Mexico or to El Dorado in charge for the Excursion run this way you would be able to stretch out her legs and be able to raise funds for future projects thank you
We need more folks to donate and become members of New Mexico Heritage Rail to make mainline excursions happen. Spread the word and encourage others to donate to NMHR.
Now it time for 2926 to pull freight train, passenger excursion, meet 3751 and tour together
My question is is there more deeper plains for new home sorta video or on 2926 web sit layout what new home may look like?
That "superheater header isolation" valve is interesting. Does that shut off steam TO or FROM the superheater header?
What is the current max speed allowed for the 2926 during these initial runs? Track speed and just limited by being within yard limits, or is there another restriction?
Granduating to end of the line ost now?
Unfathomably based
It would be nice to see this run somewhere instead of being shuffled back and forth between yards.
The society is working hard to make mainline excursions happen. Please donate to New Mexico Heritage Rail. Every donation gets them closer to big things to come!
is 2926 gonna carry the 1st excursion train.
so a good question when are you guys pulling the 2926 out and doing a speed run to stretch her legs out?
Great video I enjoy watching it. 2926 looks beautiful I love all the whistle blows. Keep making videos and I will be glad to watch them. Keep the big girl running
Do you one day plan to restore the shops to store the 2926? It seems like where she is now is rather small, and it be easier if you had a bigger workspace.
You can't just wave Harry Potter's wand and these things happen. Maybe if enough people contribute...
@@garryferrington811 I said one day not immediately.
Has BNSF allowed 2926 out on the main line to get up to speed? Maybe a day trip to Gallup or Tucumcari.
It has been said that the society is working with BNSF, Amtrak, and New Mexico Department of Transportation to make mainline excursions out of Albuquerque happen.
I seen that ozzy auto rack in a video the other day in ohio. He gets around 😅
The music is nice but annoying. It would be nice to just hear the mechanics. I was born during the steam age and do miss the sounds and smells.
Imagine if the roundhouse could be rebuilt? They built a new one in sugar creek ohio
That thing has PTC? lol
Not yet she has leap tc.
so why didn’t you use the abandoned building
Because that building was owned by the city of Albuquerque.
When is it gonna pull an excursion train.
The more donations made to this group, the sooner it will.
Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad had merged with Burlington Northern to become Burlington Northern Santa Fe, which is logically the owner of ATSF #2926. Technically it's BNSF #2926.
Nope. 2926 was donated to the city of albuquerque 1956 than bought by us in 2000.
She is the dutchess of Duke city and is owned by us the NMHR.
No offense to BNSF. The public and us has put more effort into this thing than bnsf has to any steam locomotive for the passed 70 years. But they do help us and we are most appreciative.
2926 is not owned by BNSF. It was taken off of the Santa Fe roster when it was donated to the city of Albuquerque, NM.
This locomotive is ready to go for a while now. Why hasn't it done any excursions yet? Nowhere to run it?
That’s not true. New Mexico Heritage Rail folks have said they are working with NMDOT, Amtrak, and BNSF on mainline excursions out of Albuquerque, NM. Also, the group is working on preparing their new site (the old Santa Fe shops in Albuquerque) for 2926 and fully equip their tool car for mainline excursions. Actual mainline excursions will happen, but more preparations are needed than some may think. Become a member of NMHR, as well as donating to their tool car.
@@chooch1764 Does Amtrak still have that weird policy that doesn't allow foreign railways on their line?
@@dalecherne5377 What? Amtrak has just raised the rates on moving private cars around and aren’t willing to support excursion trains under their insurance umbrella. Therefore mainline excursions are possible, especially when you can work out something with Amtrak. 2926 will run mainline excursions in the future. Please be patient.
@@chooch1764 Fingers crossed! 🤞
@@dalecherne5377 No need to have fingers crossed. I’m 100% confident that mainline excursions powered by 2926 will happen.
Why didn’t you guys try to put 2926 on the turntable ?
The turntable is in the process of being worked on to be 100% ready.
The turntable is awaiting restoration it has no rails or no deck right now so..
Also in the state the deck was in 2926 would of fell through the table.
Oh my bad well either way once the turntable is working and it has rails and a deck could you make a video of 2926 spinning around on it
Perhaps you could contribute or volunteer.
It’s a true shame that such an impressive locomotive hasn’t hit the mainline yet
It clearly ran on the mainline. It’s NMDOT tracks. You’re clearly not watching the video.
@@chooch1764 That’s not what I mean when I say mainline. I mean ACTUAL mainline service. Sure, she briefly crossed over what’s considered “mainline”, but I’m talking about knuckling into a dozen car train and hauling ass
@@BMMEC6000 Well, the organization still needs our financial support to set up their operations. Folks have also said that the society is working with the state’s department of transportation, Amtrak, and BNSF on excursions. Please be patient.
Not a fan of upbeat music over ambient sound of steam train. Other than that, a great video
That's a lot of locomotive (and clearly a lot of time, effort and money spent) to simply potter around a yard. Is there a roadmap to revenue earning service? Clock is ticking on that boiler ticket no doubt?
You got of understand its not 2000 anymore the scene and the stigmas in the industry have changed.
The only engines that do revenue service are locos like the big boy who has the backing of a entire first class railroad.
What does that mean?
It means that putting this engine into passenger service takes alot of time money and energy to get to that point. This thing was only finished a year and a half ago.
Please be patient. We are all working hard for that goal. However puttering around is the only way to get to that point we go father and farther each time!
Sorry to be that guy, but: "Me and many others ..." is grossly incorrect grammar. When listing a group of people, the speaker or writer must always list themselves last, as in "Many others and I ..."
I officially deem you, "that guy"
They got some weird guy who narrates these videos who probably pick the music. The music adds nothing. I think the guy’s name is semi circle or half a circle or part of a semi circle. The guys seems delusional.
Im fine with being delusional...

Idk what your on but this music goes insanely hard
Lose the music.
Nnnnno
Too bad, engineer rick.
I'll tell you what, because of the great presentation and video quality, how about no music when the engine is chuffing and making steam engine sounds and leave the rest of it. That's all I have to say about that.
Turn the damn western background music. Want to hear the engine, not your crap Idea of program background music.
No..
There's an old saying: you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar.

Oh no my feelings. Lol
