    • @SiMo_OfficiaI
      @SiMo_OfficiaI 5 лет назад +868

      I get what you're saying but it was meant to be a Test flight not an ad. They just needed some dummy payload so why not a Tesla? It was a bonus and a lot cheaper than just launching a rocket for an ad.

    • @TheSpacecraftX
      @TheSpacecraftX 5 лет назад +251

      That was my gut reaction too but the rocket was going to be launched anyway. As long as the mounting hardware cost less than a concrete dummy weight being made and mounted it's advertising cost functionally zero.

    • @michelstronguin6974
      @michelstronguin6974 5 лет назад +149

      Gotta put some payload in a test flight anyway, so it was either loading up a big block of concrete or loading something else that is heavy enough to prove that the falcon heavy can carry the load to orbit. The Roadster was Musk's own car (on which he payed full price as he always does), so it cost the company zero dollars to do this, yet it shattered the internet:-)

    • @TheDiscrazy
      @TheDiscrazy 5 лет назад +90

      Also, Tesla didn’t pay for anything. The car was Musk’s and the launch was paid for by SpaceX. So, yes, $0.

      Step 1: make a product so good while so cheap, that none of your competitors can offer anything similar. Both Tesla and SpaceX are first of all a revolution in terms both in terms of the technology to create the product, which lowered the cost a lot, but on top of that the products themselfs are a revolution. Self driving electic cars with a range long enough so it would be a reasonable car for your family or as a business car (not to mention not looking like shit like the BMW car lol).

    Man, your voice has potential to be a great narrator... With a little practice and age I believe you would get there. Thanks for the video!

    Breaking cybertruck window on purpose live was also an example of $0 marketing.
    That window memes spread like 🔥

      Unfortunately, we are such a small team that we can't reliably upload but we TRY to make one video a month. As you can see we don't always hit these targets.
      You have heard it a million times, but the best way to make sure to stay up to date with our content is by pressing the bell icon near the subscribe button below our video.
      Hope you enjoy our content!

    they didn't send a "brand new tesla roadster" as far as I'm aware, it came out in 2008?

    Yes but if I only have a car company then I can't do it for $0, to do it I first need to build a Space company and a rocket to do that $0 advertising. It's like Google sells it's Pixel smart phone by advertising on Google website whereas Samsung has to spend on marketing because it does not have a search engine website like Google.

    Yeah look at the cyber truck, not one single ad but it managed to become a meme

    This is a good presentation about a smart way of marketing with authenticity. Lot of traditional marketing consumes a lot of $$$ that may or may not work. That $ would otherwise be invested more about the product/services.*there would be exceptions of course*

    I find curious nobody pointed out that 2 years ago tesla was struggling to manufacture 5k cars a week, a goal that meant the company was profitable -- you can Google that easily. They had a long waiting list. Maybe (I honestly don't know) they didn't really need new customers at that time.
