Fixing A Whirlpool/Kenmore/Amana Washer That Is Stuck On The Rinse Cycle!

How to fix an older style Whirlpool/Kenmore/Amana/Maytag washing machine that is stuck on the rinse cycle. This video covers the two main reasons why your machine might be stuck on rinse! You can sometimes clean the old ones up. Use some CLR type cleaner and just a LITTLE acetone (too much acetone can melt the plastic) mixed with white vinegar.. it’s always worth a shot, especially if money is tight.

The timer is not spinning it catch the water but I spin it to wash and it only wash for 5 seconds please help

I have one that agitates and rinsed fine but skips Spin and the pump keeps pumping all the way to Off.
Timer?
Motor?
Transmission?
My dumbass just went and out it on Rinse and it just started pumping.
I think that tells me the motor/transmission is reversing so the transmission must be bad.
I have a neutral drain kit I bought to do out in two washers that I thought were spinning and draining at the same time. I thought this was one of them. Still not sure it wasn’t and the transmission needs rebuilding.
That is my next move. If nothing else I will have a rebuilt transmission for one down the road.

Mine was rinsing fine with the hot water now it will fill up but stops at the rent cycle
Yes, it agitates through the wash, but when it’s finished, agitating it stops and does not progress from there

My washing machine gets stuck on every cycle, I have to manually move it on from beginning to end. I did turn the water cycle to cold and the water is coming out…What can I do to repair that?

If it is getting stuck at the "rinse" of every cycle, then most likely, the cold water valve is clogged/failed. If it just gets stuck randomly, then you have a bad timer

My washer is having the same issue but when I put it on cold it just fills with warm water and continues the load and still gets stuck on rinse

That sounds like an issue with the cold water valve. Replace the valves!

Either it's the cold water valve that is bad or the timer. Does it rinse in other modes? If it does, then there is an issue with the timer. If it does not rinse in any of the settings, then it is most likely the water valves (easy and cheap fix)
