How does anyone write anything like this? Listening to it is actually overwhelming. I feel every word.
This song feels like an honest genuine hug. The lyrics are so honest and yet so idyllic.
The magic of being packaged is amazing
What a beautiful sentiment. To me, the message is that you leave a snapshot of yourself in other's minds, so as long as you love yourself you can implicitly show love to everyone you meet. Then, you can love that idea of so many others who have a unique image of you, none exactly the same.
From the directness of Amelia’s “I love you” in response, to the freeing of the word free in auditory form, to the astute ending of the song.... gah, sheer perfection. It’s so refreshing to see artists be artists in their best possible form. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this album is the exact cure I needed for 2020. Thank you guys
Yes. Nick was right - this is absolutely a song that needed to be at the center of an album, one of those songs that feels like it has arrived here after a journey down the ages, passed down from heart to heart, sometimes resting in a tree or a stone for a thousand years, until the right person came along who had the ears and the heart to hear it and set it free in the world. My first impression hearing it is that it is inevitable, of course it says that, yes says my heart, exactly. You have freed the words in our heart. Thank you for being exactly who you, it makes this world a better place.

Well hot damn...This song could be written from the beating of my own overburdened heart. I have many people in my life, many people who I love, who love me, who need me, but who do not perhaps know me. They know this wonderful amazing person, this person who can always be there for them, always offer advice, always stand firm against the currents of life, whose burdens never seem to stand in the way of their caring for others. I...wish I knew that person. I'm so glad they have them in their life, the fact that they can feel so secure that that person is there for them is of great relief to me. The fact they think that person is me, it's something I never believe I will actually be able to be worthy of.
But it's also what keeps me going, chasing that feeling, that when they see me they see this person I know isn't real, isn't possible, not for me anyways. For brief moments, long enough to make an impression, long enough to fool even me, I see it too, I see this person standing in my place, and the silhouette fits me close enough I can fool myself into believing that's who I am. But then the angle I see it from shifts, and I am by myself, and I know it isn't real, it's just a shadow cast by the light of their expectation. The shape of who I am is so much more complicated than that, and I realize that silhouette hides a form that doesn't really resemble the image we were looking at, at all.

I feel you. But if they see it, it is only because you made the effort to make it so, and for those people you did more than the rest that ignored them, that never took the time to listen or tried to reach out. But yes, the image others see in us will never be but a dim shadow of what we really are, even so that doesn't mean you are fraud.
And trough empathy we will proceed to help others and feel rewarded in it, but I hope you find yourself someone with whom you can share your own problems and fears while not falling in the same trap of seeing them as something more than a human like you and me.

I feel lucky to have enjoyed this in a way I think might have been intended. Laying in bed late at night after finishing a chapter. First move on my phone is to watch this video. Headphones snug. I can hear your control in your voice, even in your breathes. Your look doesn’t trap me or pull me in, it lets me sink then float instead. Especially with the help of the camera withdrawing.
