If I could make a wish. Just the right amount of success to make money singing awesome music, buy a house, retire comfortably, to do exactly this with my favorite person.
Something tells me that even without the Tiny Desk appearance or any public success, these two would still be making music and having just as much fun together. Love it!
These 2 make it look so easy to make music in your living room. He's just chilling making simple beats. She's just dancing and singing and having a good time. Sylvan Esso!
Their first concert was one of the shows that helped me fall in love with Tiny Desk to begin with. I hope everyone swayed like seaweed in Ursula's cave while listening.
Makes so much more sense now lol…I thought she said “seaweed in a earthless cave” Between the shattering of my mind from experiencing their music for the first time there just weren’t enough pieces left to unpack how you could have a cave with no earth, let alone one with seaweed inside
I love that they must have performed all three of those songs a thousand times before, and yet they still seem so completely immersed in the moment and rocking out. Great stuff!!
I saw them in Knoxville a few years ago on their What Now tour!! I bought a single ticket the morning of the show, and it was one of the best nights of my life
So happy this has happened. Sylvan esso has blessed us with 2 performances, 1 beautiful film, and entire live album during quarantine. Thank you guys for keeping me sane.
Her voice is so crisp and clear... sounding just as good sitting in their living room as it does on the album. And I've been listening to their music for at least 5 years (Coffee was the first song that caught my attention I think) and I never knew they were from right around the corner in Durham, NC! I like them even more now. :)
First time to ever hear your music and I'm from South Africa so I've never been exposed to this type of sound. I believe you guys will change the world with your music, the first joint was life-changing.
Drummer of 25 years here and a huge fan! Missing your show in StL because I help care for my disabled nephew now or I’d absolutely be there! You guys are amazing and an inspiration no doubt. One day I will see you all live and check it off my bucket list. Until then I’ll be vibing to your beautiful music every day! Thank you for keeping me sane during quarantine in the past and still moving me with your music to this day ❤ much love
I can't forget how I came across them originally but i gotta say, one of the most inspiring voices. sound is so different. her voice does something to me (in a good way).
I love how they have probably sang this song hundreds of times , yet that first smile from him is like it’s their first time 🤍 . And she’s a cutie with a light so bright . Blind meeeee👊🏼 shine on
Their first TDC for NPR was so full of this loving energy between the two of them that I became a fan right then and there. They look like they are on the same wavelength and they are so excited to ride it together. You cannot help but smile. Thank you Sylvan Esso. Thank you NPR.
Loved thier original Tiny Desk Concert, one of the best of all time. This, from home TDC just makes me smile, the very essence of Sylvan Esso. So simple, so pure, so clever, so talented so loveable.
I only found out about Sylvan Esso via Tiny Desk and I loved their stuff right away. As someone who cut their teeth on Kraftwerk and OMD, Thomas Dolby and Jean Michel Jarre, I've always welcomed fresh, energetic new electronica content. This was a blast to watch. Especially Radio. I really appreciated that new Tiny Desk (home) concert.
I think part of it is that they don't need a super in depth mic setup to record. All they need is one decent microphone. They probably don't have to worry too much about echo either since they just need to record her voice rather than the sound of the room.
I found them through their first Tiny Desk and they have held a special place in my heart ever since. Just waiting for them to tour the UK and I'll be happier. This session is also very lovely.
I don't usually listen to music like this, but I've always been very impressed with everyone in Mountain Man, and Nick Sanborn's production works magic accompanying her voice.
Both albums have been my go to for every sleepy driving time, always when I run, and for naps and bedtime for the babies. It started with Lucian after birth(2016) and now my Lucian and Lola are 2 and 4 and we all are listening faithfully
My god how much I love these two. So much joy when they are jamming. Thanks NPR, their first appearance on Tiny Desk made me fall in love with them, this one just makes me grin from ear to ear !
The first Sylvan Esso concert I went to is still one of the best I've ever been to. COVID sucks but it will make the next time I see them all the better
I first discovered them like a month ago in quarantine - I was watching the Tiny Desk from several years ago. Lo and behold, another one!!! Her voice is carrying me through these rough times :)
Saw them at red rocks, it was amazing, so good live. I just got a little sad watching this and not knowing when we can go to live shows again... At least I live by one of the world's greatest outdoor venues (Red Rocks) as they will probably be able to hold shows sooner.
💛 Please take me back to Eaux Claires 2015 on a sweaty summer day under a tent with these two lovely folks and so many others shoulder-to-shoulder dancing
Found these two a year back from, you guessed it, NPR tiny desk and now rockin to their vinyl. What an eclectic and in tune band and couple. Her first group Mountain Man is pretty solid too.
The simplicity and soulfulness of your music makes me weep for all the things that could have been. Your music is a gift and the candor of your performance exudes the very spirit of why music exists. I love you, Sylvan Esso!
'die young' might be my favorite love song of all time. "I had it all planned out before you met me, I had a plan, you ruined it completely... I was gonna die young, now I gotta wait for you, honey"
I literally just discovered this beautiful sound in the middle of the night! I'm grateful for finding new amazing artists! I couldn't wait for this notification.
Sylvan esso opened for a band in Indianapolis years ago, and I've been in love ever since. I don't even remember the main show, they ended up fully impressing me and put on such a fun show!
blessed by this queen and king while i sip on hot fennel tea, wash the dishes, n wait for my almond milk yogurt, lemon bundt to finish bakin in the oven . 🍋🥰
That voice...........I hope she takes it somewhere beyond that couch. A beautifully, explosive, expressive instrument. Looking forward to the next step.......
Thank you for recording what you could. People here in the comments are complaining but not understanding and appreciating the time you took to do this because in reality you didn’t have to. Thank you
Me forty seconds ago: "I've literally never heard of Sylvan Esso"
Me now: "I absolutely love Sylvan Esso!"
Same

You should most definitely watch their in studio tiny desk concert, it's one of NPR's top viewed on here.
This was me with their Tiny Desk. Now their S/T is one of my favorite albums released in the last many years. They're so good!
Me now: "Woops I now own their entire discography on vinyl."
Their first performance with tiny desk is still one of my favorites. Their energy is so infectious.
Really, I need to look that up
First thing I saw on Tiny Desk and still one of the best.
Their first tiny desk is how I discovered them. So agree with you!
No phone call from Dad this time. What an omission!

They would be dope neighbors to have!
I would be creeping them out dancing along the property line

If I could see one concert after this pandemic is over, let it be Sylvan Esso!
i’ve seen them about two years ago, best experience i’ve EVER had
I've seen them twice now ... looking forward to the next time they come to Austin.
Dude, I saw them at Disney Concert Hall in LA. Such a chill band. Very special live. Keep a look out for concerts in your city!
I saw them in Knoxville a few years ago on their What Now tour!! I bought a single ticket the morning of the show, and it was one of the best nights of my life
They were my last concert *before* the pandemic, here in Durham, NC.

Where can I find the film? Is it streamable?

Durham puts out some great artists.
at 4:10 she sings "bathing in the red glue breen" instead of red blue green and just laughs and keeps going haha awesome

I'm obsessed with this version of "Radio".
The distortion at 11:18 that lingers into the verse!
And that amazing vocal improvisation at the end ❤️
