Their first concert was one of the shows that helped me fall in love with Tiny Desk to begin with. I hope everyone swayed like seaweed in Ursula's cave while listening.
Makes so much more sense now lol…I thought she said “seaweed in a earthless cave” Between the shattering of my mind from experiencing their music for the first time there just weren’t enough pieces left to unpack how you could have a cave with no earth, let alone one with seaweed inside
So happy this has happened. Sylvan esso has blessed us with 2 performances, 1 beautiful film, and entire live album during quarantine. Thank you guys for keeping me sane.
I love how they have probably sang this song hundreds of times , yet that first smile from him is like it’s their first time 🤍 . And she’s a cutie with a light so bright . Blind meeeee👊🏼 shine on
Drummer of 25 years here and a huge fan! Missing your show in StL because I help care for my disabled nephew now or I’d absolutely be there! You guys are amazing and an inspiration no doubt. One day I will see you all live and check it off my bucket list. Until then I’ll be vibing to your beautiful music every day! Thank you for keeping me sane during quarantine in the past and still moving me with your music to this day ❤ much love
First time to ever hear your music and I'm from South Africa so I've never been exposed to this type of sound. I believe you guys will change the world with your music, the first joint was life-changing.
Their first TDC for NPR was so full of this loving energy between the two of them that I became a fan right then and there. They look like they are on the same wavelength and they are so excited to ride it together. You cannot help but smile. Thank you Sylvan Esso. Thank you NPR.
I don't usually listen to music like this, but I've always been very impressed with everyone in Mountain Man, and Nick Sanborn's production works magic accompanying her voice.
I found them through their first Tiny Desk and they have held a special place in my heart ever since. Just waiting for them to tour the UK and I'll be happier. This session is also very lovely.
Loved thier original Tiny Desk Concert, one of the best of all time. This, from home TDC just makes me smile, the very essence of Sylvan Esso. So simple, so pure, so clever, so talented so loveable.
Both albums have been my go to for every sleepy driving time, always when I run, and for naps and bedtime for the babies. It started with Lucian after birth(2016) and now my Lucian and Lola are 2 and 4 and we all are listening faithfully
The first Sylvan Esso concert I went to is still one of the best I've ever been to. COVID sucks but it will make the next time I see them all the better
I only found out about Sylvan Esso via Tiny Desk and I loved their stuff right away. As someone who cut their teeth on Kraftwerk and OMD, Thomas Dolby and Jean Michel Jarre, I've always welcomed fresh, energetic new electronica content. This was a blast to watch. Especially Radio. I really appreciated that new Tiny Desk (home) concert.
Saw them at red rocks, it was amazing, so good live. I just got a little sad watching this and not knowing when we can go to live shows again... At least I live by one of the world's greatest outdoor venues (Red Rocks) as they will probably be able to hold shows sooner.
💛 Please take me back to Eaux Claires 2015 on a sweaty summer day under a tent with these two lovely folks and so many others shoulder-to-shoulder dancing
blessed by this queen and king while i sip on hot fennel tea, wash the dishes, n wait for my almond milk yogurt, lemon bundt to finish bakin in the oven . 🍋🥰
I found these two over your channel @NPR Music - And I fell in love, I cant describe how much I needed this sound in my "life". Love them!! Thank you so much for another one!
It's so awesome seeing someone using a sweet modular setup in a live performance! You don't see all that much of that, so when I saw the thumbnail I knew I had to give it a listen. It did not disappoint.
Thank you for recording what you could. People here in the comments are complaining but not understanding and appreciating the time you took to do this because in reality you didn’t have to. Thank you
Thanks tiny desk, thanks sylvan esso!! I specifically searched up their tiny desk from years back, after getting their song coffee stuck in my head last night, perfect timing to find this one as well!! ✌🏼🖤🎶
Check out "With" their new live album ... Tidal has it as a Masters series in MQA. Nothing new but new arrangements of old stuff, its SO good! Edit: Amelia plugs it at the end!
This is amazing. I first heard you on NPR a couple years ago and instantly fell in love. Seeing you sing and enjoy yourself here has made my week. Keep being awesome!
I love this so so much, the organic process between them in the living room making some kind of magic together for us. It is so kind of them to share it.
Greetings from Wake Forest :) It's surreal seeing such talent from nearby. I'd really love to learn more about your guy's setup; I'm really interested in learning more about synthesizers and you guys seem to have a good grasp of the performance aspect of it. Great job!
Sylan Esso, one of the many things I miss about moving from the Triangle. I still have fond memories of your concert at the Carrboro Farmers Market several years ago.
@@abdurrazzaq2314 stank face is a disapproving look. It's a great line. My boyfriend also has a wholesome look...when he gets angry it's pretty adorable. I giggle every time.
You guys have kept me going this past crazy, covid (crovidzy?) year! Yes! You both: Sylvan Esso and NPR Tiny Desk Concerts!!! So much amazing music i have discovered thru the "concerts"! I have just found comfort in the old and new music put forth by this surprisingly Carolinas Duo Band. Amazing and movement inspiring!
Will never get over her voice. I just really like it a lot!
And also their energy ❤️
you might like Mountain Men then (her old group or they might still be active kinda)
her voice reminds me of regina spektor
Their first concert was one of the shows that helped me fall in love with Tiny Desk to begin with. I hope everyone swayed like seaweed in Ursula's cave while listening.
Omg I remember that. She's adorable.
Yeah, it was my first Tiny Desk. Amazing.

Married, happy and making music, living the dream.

So happy this has happened. Sylvan esso has blessed us with 2 performances, 1 beautiful film, and entire live album during quarantine. Thank you guys for keeping me sane.
What is the film?
Where can I find the film? Is it streamable?
Kae Falcon The WITH documentary on RUclips. Checkout their channel!
Jay Brown WITH - it has live performances from when they had a 10 piece band with them and they share their thoughts on the experience. It’s lovely.
Yuss!!! My daughters have grown up to the sweet sounds of Slyvan Esso...over here in NZ
My sons too!! I took them to see Sylvan Esso in 2017 and remember their faces when the bass picks up in Could I Be...🤣
was awesome to see them at Laneway Auckland a few years back!
Same here x Aotearoa hard

Oh thanks Man! I was looking for this!
really cool to see them do a live set with a modular synth, not easy
This Tiny Desk is what introduced me to Sylvan Esso. And they're now one of my fave bands!

Why would anyone dislike this??
I saw Sylvan Esso at the Laneway festival in Auckland, NZ a few years ago.
Highlight of the day, honestly.
Her voice over the electric sounds just make my mind melt... Perfection in my ears!
Me forty seconds ago: "I've literally never heard of Sylvan Esso"
Me now: "I absolutely love Sylvan Esso!"
Same
You might also like their live Tiny Desk!
You should most definitely watch their in studio tiny desk concert, it's one of NPR's top viewed on here.
This was me with their Tiny Desk. Now their S/T is one of my favorite albums released in the last many years. They're so good!
Me now: "Woops I now own their entire discography on vinyl."
Synth god! Vocal goddess! Magical amalgamation of human talent!
partial gear list if it helps anyone
thank you! my boyfriend asked if I could scroll and see if anyone mentioned which Roland that was lol didn't have to go far!
I came here for this. Thank you.

Such quarantine goals. Love Amelia’s energy all the time!
it's been 2 years since I saw them in concert.
That last 30 seconds is exactly what they should never lose. Wonderful! :)

There was something about the chaotic rhythms that made me anxious. Her voice was soothing.
The first Tiny Desk (Home) Concert and still one of the best! I replay this all the time

Hi, FL! Glad you had a great start to the day!
Sadly didn't know that they were married to each other until now. Makes this band even better!!!!!

Go Durham! Wish I was their neighbor! Cool weather with the windows open and jamming to this.
This is my favorite video on the internet.
Bring them back for a Tiny Desk (not at home) Concert, please. So excited to be seeing them at the Greek Theater --for the second time next week!
It's very fresh sound! Thanks!
This tiny desk concert just made my day
Just freaking perfect 😍
(Had to watch it twice just to make sure it soaked in good 👍)
OH ... wonderful... Great Show. OH wow...that song RADIO blew my mind... superb live rendition.
Hey nice set, and the occasional loose cable connection makes it feel even more homely.
Been listening to them since before the first tiny desk ♥️♥️♥️ more in love with them every time I hear her voice
