I've been playing sims since SubLogic FS on the Apple ][, thirty-some years ago. I haven't been this excited for a sim release in... well, ever. I had nearly stopped simming entirely the last few years; this one will get me back in the virtual 'pit with a gleam in my eye.
at first I thought the chopper next to you was the actual sound of DCS huey and was like, wow, i'm definitely not buying this. But then you did your startup and now we're good again.
My opinion has changed and hands down DCS Huey is far superior than TOH ..I can't wait to fly this awesome bird..The amount of detail looks like the real deal from all the vids I have seen ..This will be a tool in training new real world pilots I guarantee it.
You would use it with the combined arms module that's used in DCS: world, you would use this to cart SAS to areas or pick them up or do rescue missions, the DCS sims aren't easy to learn or play but once your used to it they are very good, actual A-10 pilots use the DCS A-10 sim to play on in free time, and follow real life procedure at all times while in the sim.
Scenery,immersion,...I think the UH1 model looks great all the detail is awesome sound is spot on but w/o camera shake looks flat..I hope some more vids get posted to change my opinion any release date for US? Can't find any info besides the press release on every site
Couldn't identify half of the switches you were throwin. Did you do another tutorial where you took more time to explain identify what the switches are called?
Because if helicopters are the motorcycles of the air, the Huey is the CB750 of helicopters. There've been more than enough Apache sims; go find one and play it.

Looks nice but what would you do with it in DC world? Should have made longbow. You know something that could blow tanks up not just fly over them.

Immersion so far but I will wait till I play this sim before passing judgement DCS BS felt like I was in a box and the ground was moving not me..I am hoping they improved the level of immersion...Anybody know where other vids of DCS UH1 are posted ??

It would have been nice for you to narrate what switches your flipping before you flip them. Remember the A10 Producers notes where he talks about what each switch does and why he flips it. It's sad watching you pan looking at an airplane take-off and not talking about the switches. Please over dub on this one new relevant audio. TOH is somewhere between a simulator and a game. DCS is the hardcorest high fidelity study flight sim on the PC. so only by definition it's a different genre. IMO, the concept of TOH is great, but something with the flight model and controls is problematic. i know there is a new mod that improves the physics..need to try it..but i still prefer a realistic sim like DCS.
I quite like the idea of the huey over an apachie egale dynamics aren't allowed to do an apchie sim anyway as they do them too good and the US army doesn't want the enemy being able to work out ways of dropping them real quick, even though there's videos of achie being taken out with RPGs and the dust in iraq fucks them up real quick so they simply drop out of the air at any time. They aren't all that good in the desert that's from people working to fix them up all the time.
This game has the Huey gunship in it... You can load it with ammunition and stuff.... They wouldn't have made this a game if they didn't have weapons for it xD
Start up is lacking any "real" procedures hope it's not a auto start. Graphics look great and the sound is awesome but no camera shake a Huey is not gentle it's a very bumpy ride.
First of all, no one is going to make a fully functional, realistic version of an apache. It is still considered one of the most technologically advanced helicopters in the world. Making it into a game that is sold WORLDWIDE would be like treason, selling your countries secrets away...
and we fly this in Georgia, how realistic! till ED or third parties start making more themes (and why Nevada????) most aircrafts are just silly flying in Georgia. E.G. this needs a Vietnam theme.
The most pointless waste of time after DCS: Mustang. It's like watching water boil.

First of your full of yourself. As pointed out there have been several apache sims. Second off I have ka50 but want a US helo and not one that's going to be a big target in dcs and have nothing to do like this one will be. If I want that I'll play p51.now take your butt hurt feelings and go away

I like the shake at 6:18 coming through TL. I'm cautiously optimistic that you guys might just pull this off some day.

I'm assuming that, since this wasn't a gunship Huey, we are actual, useable skids and can do troop transport missions?

Somebody told me that user controlled AI aircraft are unstable in the latest patch.... and this came from an admin on an aerobatics server :)
