    I wear leather straps over bracelets, feels better on my wrist, specially when I travel to humid counties where your skin expands.

    I think that looks incredible on you on the strap. Hugs the wrist well. You should wear it that way more often. Also, I love your videos where you take your watches out on a date. It’s spending quality time with each one and documenting it. I like that idea a lot. I’m headed back home now to unbox my Pepsi!

      I’m envious of you, once again! Enjoy the experience of your brand new GMT Master II. Nothing else like it in the world.
      It’s nice for me to have the option of switching out to a leather strap on my older Rolex. I can always go back to the steel bracelet whenever I want.
      I’ve gotten some positive feedback on my short car trips, so I’ll try to do more of them.
      I’ll keep an eye out for your next video!

    Your piece looks great with that brown. That white dial is a strap monster.

    I currently have a dark brown leather NATO strap on my vintage Rolex "Thunderbird" / champagne face. Love the combination and I think it may be a more versatile look than with its gold-and-steel Oyster bracelet. .

    Both bracelet and strap add nice contrast for one another.

    If it was your only piece I’d have kept it on bracelet, but this definitely works well given your wider collection. Also, leather seems more appropriate on 4 or 5 digit references like this one. Anyone tried a leather strap on a modern 6 digit Rolex?

    I like the look of the bracelet as I believe the integration of it on the modern ones is perfect. That being said your strap is really nice on that white dial. I your title is right too, but the fact is there’s so many straps on the internet you could really be spoilt for choice, almost too many options if you ask me!
    Nice watch

    The leather strap is of superb quality, but the Rolex bracelet is significantly better for this watch.
    As for the rattle with the hollow centre links:
    - use nature's own 'glide lock'...for people with very slim wrists and highly tapered arms, such as mine, and I suspect yours, , try moving your watch a half a cm towards the elbow. Viola, a perfect fit and no rattle
    - consider this. On the one hand Rolex builds ever more sold bracelets which increases mass, and then Rolex moves to Ti alloy to reduce mass...Your hollow centerlink bracelet is the lightweight/sports version of the Rolex bracelet. By extension the four digit reference folded Rolex bracelets(super light) must have been been the racing variants.

    Actually, it looks like you would be fine with straight bars as well

    • @sc1
      @sc1  Год назад +3

      yep, straight spring bars actually work ok on pre-modern (5-digit) Rolex, But it would be too tight in the very recent models, and would need curved bars,

    Interesting. I've spent (too much) time the last few days looking for a leather strap for my old Omega Seamaster 2251.80. I don't dislike the bracelet but it'll be a change. Your DJ looks good on leather. It's a tricky business choosing the 'correct' colour and style.

    • @sc1

      I found out that I was better off customizing my leather strap, instead of picking from whatever was offered. Saves time and money in the long run.

      @@sc1 My issue was deciding on the colour more than anything so I decided to try a couple of mid-range straps. Fortunately I like them both. Video just posted.

    Thanks for the Video. I've been wondering the best ways to do thins. I have been thnking about changing to a leather strap on a 1984 Rolex Perpetual Datejust. I've always prefered a good leather strap to the metal bracelet.

    Prefer the Cordovan Leather strap, I have a Crocket and Jones Cordovan dress boots and this leather patina and age better without wrinkles unlike regular leather

    • @sc1
      @sc1  Год назад

      I only have 1 pair of black Cordovan Boots, from Alden. Absolutely no wrinkles, like I would get from my calf leather shoes. But unfortunately I took a fall from the ice on the pavement this winter and scratched them up pretty badly. I purchased a Deer Bone, and will be trying to bring them back into good shape.

    The lugs are too long and too low for a bracelet.
