It uses a battery that you have to buy yourself, the port is only to power the thing.

I bought one ebay about £16.00.complete with ear buds and a cheap zinc battery.sorry but it's shit.tried with electro acoustic and Electrics.cant really say anything good about it.If you turn the tone control down it a bit better but clips and distorts,but not it a good way.The tiny speaker just can't cope,with anything.Sorry.
