Sterling Ball’s contribution to the design of the Stingray Bass is vastly overstated- he was a tester and Leo always had a bunch of them

Fascinating. I don't however believe that Leo Fender would have provided anything to Ernie Ball (coil winders) while he was still making guitars (G&L) at CLF Research, especially because he had fallen out with Tom Walker. He was unhappy that he missed out on equipment from the MM amp factory when it closed apparently

Curious why they use the plastic mother of pearl over real mother of pearl? Is it due to not harvesting from ocean or due to cost cutting measures?

Bring back the Armada - that was a brilliant guitar. They just needed to be in more attractive finishes, and have solid colour options.

It’s a shame there’s no one there actually building the guitars… I know there was a flood etc… so do it on another day, we love seeing these living sculptures actually being created… you know? I honestly skipped through it coz nothing was happening… there was no “here’s Andrew he’s in charge of final assembly” or “here’s Michelle, she’s in charge of colours and finishes” etc… it’s just an empty factory. It’s people that make a company not just a product. Everyone has product but not everyone has Andrew or Michelle etc…

@stepato Hi there! Thanks for checking out this video, we really appreciate your thoughts and feedback. Whilst we were visiting San Luis Obispo earlier this year California was struck with the worst flood and storm in decades. Due to this event the entire factory was shut down and all workers were sent home for their safety. Within 30 minutes of us arriving the factory went from being fully operational to completely shut down. We would have loved to have delayed the shoot by a day, but due to our tight schedule that just wasn't logistically possible. Our 10 day trip was fully booked and involved countless hours of driving and flying, even the slightest of delays would have risked the trip.
Although the circumstances of this video are far from ideal we believe it offers a unique insight into the world of Music Man and brilliantly highlights their truly incredible build process.
We would also like to once again thank the entire Music Man team for their incredible hospitality and generosity. They don't just build awesome guitars...They're also awesome people!

No. This tour happened a long while ago. They came to the US did a bunch of tours before Jack made hi announcement that he was leaving.

      @concernedcitizen939 Год назад

Couldn’t have been too long ago. He’s referring to the flooding from the recent hurricane that came across Southern California last week.

@@concernedcitizen939 I don't know about the weather there, but the announcement of Jack's departure was 5 months ago and it was a while prior to that they announced doing some different things and were planning a trip to the USA ... I think for NAMM; which was mid April. They had said they were going to tour the Music Man, Suhr, and Tom Anderson facilities. The Tom Anderson & Suhr tour videos were released 3 months ago. I've been waiting months for them to release the Music Man video.
So unless something happened with the scheduling and they had to return with Jack afterwards, then this footage should be at least 3 months old already.

Hi There! I just thought i'd jump on and clear up any potential confusion. This Music Man factory tour was filmed during our California content road trip back in January 2023. We decided to delay this video for a few months as we have been waiting for the perfect time to officially release it.
The flood mentioned in the video is referring to the catastrophic storm that hit Southern California back in January 2023. This flood caused terrible damage to the area and is the reason behind the Music Man factory being shut down. Within 30 minutes of us arriving the factory went from being fully operational to completely shut down. We would have loved to have delayed the shoot by a day, but due to our tight schedule that just wasn't logistically possible.
As of March 2023 Jack is no longer working with Peach Guitars. There is absolutely no bad blood on either side and we of course wish him all the best in his future endeavours. Jack is, and will always remain a close friend of the company.
Hopefully this clears up any confusion!
      All the best

I love their guitars, but I can’t play them because their necks are soooooo small.

Try a few Sterling versions. They're much beefier. I have the Cutlass CT50 hss and Stingray ray34 bass in firemist silver. I hate tiny little necks, and these are way fatter.

I love my Kaizen, but I have a slight issue with the top of the body shape - it sinks my forearm ever so slightly and my wrist is a bit strained because of that. But the neck is actually great - I have a 7 stringer, and it is just perfect :)

Everytime I've watched one of these MusicMan Guitars factory tours, I'm increasingly amazed at the numbers of these super high end JP models and the like. I always wonder who the hells buying all these damn things? They look like a complete logistical and in many ways structural nightmare! Using mahogany in a neck through construction like that, is just plain stupid. I don't give a shit what it supposedly does for the sound. Mahogany is a piss poor wood to try'n use for a long thin neck. They end up having to scarf joint it anyhow, so why bother? Sure seems like alot of extra work to sell some guitars. I love my Cutlass hss and Stingray bass. Guess I'm oldschool.

never been a fan of Ernie ball, music, man, guitars , or their sister company, Sterling, considering the fact they do not offer one single production model left-handed only super expensive custom shop ones, I’ll stick to Schecter and kiesel, who at least care about the left-handed community
