Ergo none of the guards/legionnaires could shout that they VIOLATED THE LAW until the Dominion committed war crimes in the Imperial City, which is why the Empire won the Battle of the Red Ring.

I remember I pickpocketed a guy by accident so I then went on about my duties by going through an oblivion gate, and a fucking guard comes out of the lava to stop me. Me and my cousin still mess with each other about that years after. Oblivion is such an amazing game.

Oblivion guards are not the heroes that we deserve, they are the heroes we need in our current political climate.
If you think about it, the city guards are the perfect example of the optimal judicial system.
They serve as jury and executioner, are omniscient an omnipresent, capable of detect all type of criminal scum activity, with unbreakable willpower to pursue criminal scums even literally to hell, just to bring them to justice. And they solve the problems with a simple but efficient system of paying the fine, go to jail or pay with your blood. The heroes we need indeed.

That is a guard, when you stole their armors while they were asleep on the barracks that's what they wear, their daily clothing.
Fun fact: you can have guards also attack other npcs including each other by modifying their crime gold values. : D
If you start a fight with the guards at the Arcane University and get a Mage Scholar or Apprentice to kill the guard, then that Apprentice/Scholar will always be attacked by the guards every time the cell resets. This is because bounties don't reset to zero for respawning NPCs when they come back to life. So you can potentially make it so that the university will turn into a warzone every three days or so.

4:22 The perfect scene.
My favorite part is at 4:22. It's like some weird freeze-frame thing where the character is distracted and notices something. If it weren't for the "Leyawiin Jailor" text in the lower right corner of the screen, the "Well now, what do we have here?" line could've been the player's thoughts. And the way that the mouse cursor moves over to that knothole in the door makes it seems like that's what the player is suddenly so focused on.

Maybe the guards are condemned to eternity stuck in the un-played Oblivion disks and whenever someone chooses to go back and play the game these glitches occur but the only way the guards can communicate with us, is through the scripted language that were coded with. When the guards are glitched and they say "there's no problem is there"? That is them actually saying "help!!!!!! Don't leave us alone, get us out of here!!!"
