16 years later and Oblivion Stealth is still really fun

- So this is what stealth in Oblivion looks like in 2022; as janky as it can be, its actually pretty fun. I like the enemy physics when they're sent flying by my destruction spells. Acrobats skill-tree and being able to use by bow while jumping are some of the few things from this game that I wish was in Skyrim

back in the day people used to always upload videos shooting people from roofs etc loads of cool assasssin stuff those videos are probs hard to find now but when oblivion first came out there were a lot of videos being made on youtube and stuff like machinimas too like chuck norris in oblivion

Seriously 😂 I feel so dumb been playing for years since release and somehow never done it time to hop on
For some reason archery in Oblivion feels more (for lack of a better word) impactful.
Like their weight behind the arrows and that hitting some one will kill them.
Maybe, but if you've ever shot a real bow & arrow you will recognize that both oblivion and skyrim have the most lame ass slow arrows in existence.

I have but I kind of understand why.
It looks cool and activates the monkey brain.
As much as I love oblivion. It's the other way around imo drawing and shooting sounds, animations and that thonk sound and the occasional killcam makes skyrims stealth archer definitely more impactful

No matter the moment of space time stealth archer with illusion magic will always be the best choice.

I always hated the fact that late game everyone has glass and daedric armor. Didn’t feel rare anymore.loved the game tho just absolutely loved morrowwind more and Skyrim. A morrowind modern remake would be sooo amazing
slow leveling was the ONE MOD this game desperately needed to be patched in
Definitely something I love about Morrowind, stuff was so rare and the people that wore it were hard to beat. Like this one time I went into a cave and found a enemy with full Ebony armour, was probably one of the hardest fights I had so far
You might want a mod called "Oblivion Scaling Unclusterf8cked" with U instead of 8

Haven’t touched oblivion in years and want to do a stealth build. Any recommendations for race and what to focus on leveling up?
I'm no professional, but I would say either a khajiit or bosmer with a custom class focusing on sneak, archery, acrobatics, and athletics. Also I would choose the sign of the thief. Good luck!

That’s vanilla, animations are unlocked as you increase skills

I've NEVER done a stealth build in Oblivion. This REALLY makes me want to, so... I'm gonna. What race would you recommend for this?
Khajiit obviously since they're naturally stealthy.
I currently playing as a breton stealth mage that resosrt tp bow when magika is low
Depends which type of damage you want to deal. Intelligence=more magicka for nightblade, agility for archer, strenght for backstabber.
are you using any mods? i wanna play oblivion and i want know if vanilla playthrough is good
This was vanilla when I made this, which is fine for a play-through in my opinion. The only mods I would ever install would be graphic or texture overhauls.

im sad now , i was expecting something that makes your stealth hit do even more damage but seems like its stays forever in x3.
i have 100 marksman skill the best arrows and bow i can get but still have to use over 20 arrows to kill a normal bandit at lvl 10
So funny your comment is 4 days old as this is when I started oblivion for the first time I well. I understand the leveling system and how to do efficient leveling, but at this point, best thing to do is probably play however you like and adjust the difficulty slider if enemt scaling gets too stupid
the leveling system is really dumb. if it helps, I added a spell on my bow to lower their health by a lot for 1 sec. it costs very little and kills them like 50-100 hp earlier. i forget. something i did 15 years ago
Just upgrade your bow to do 20 or 30 fire damage(you will nearly instakill vampires) or go for shock like i do

@@gabrieliuss8432 i noticed you have to do the mage guild quest to have access to the "create spell feature" in a way you can actually add everything to your attacks and drain health + more dmg to all the hits you do. With every single character even if you don't want to be a mage or have little amount of mana you still need that. Kinda sad but at the same time kinda awesome

It's kind of unrealistic how the acrobatics and athletics with water turn out in here. It's like you can just spam jumping and skipping water like a thrown rock until losing momentum. Except, you don't lose momentum - only when you wanted to sink to

Well since it is a Fantasy game, I don't think realism is gonna be an option.
