I'm not telling you to drink, do drugs, smoke, party or any other stuff like that. There is way more things to do in life than that. I feel like the easiest and most accessible way of making that change is going to the gym, whether it is to workout, do cardio or even boxing. Us Dragon Ball fans are also really lucky with how much free motivation we can get lol. But generally, just try out some random things even if you don't expect yourself to like it because even if you don't, that unique experience will make it worthwhile, rather than living with the regret of not knowing whether or not you would have liked it. Go for a run, read a book, write a book, draw, paint, pick up an instrument, join a band, listen to some obscure genre of music, try to befriend some random guy you usually pass over, climb some trees, use a different path to go back home, get yourself a pet, dance no matter how cringe you think you might look doing it, try gardening, try some random sport no one's ever heard of, craft a super-hero costume all by yourself or build a rocket. Just live. You won't have enough time to do everything, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do anything. Already having wasted time doesn't mean you have to waste the rest. You only have one life and won't have another shot at it, so make sure you live it. (This also applies to video games between. Trying new types of games you think you would never like is the best way to find fun in games when you think it gets boring.)
I'm pretty sure the 164 characters is the base roster, based on the wording of official sites and such. They did say it has the largest roster of any BT game and they wouldn't be able to say that if that wasn't the base roster.
Every transformation for them is a own character...so goku has like 15 slots...its the same char but with differend transformations...but they say its a differend character. So at the end the 164 chars are at the end like 30 chars in total....scam

Ha 30 to 50 of those characters are going to be just different versions of Arale, Goku, Vegeta, Fusion, Gohan, Majin Buu, Cell, Frieza, and Trunks. In truth there's really only around 60 characters.
Now obviously there's gonna be DLC for a video game, but I don't like the idea of paying $70 for a game no matter how much content is packed in it. But I'm also worried that they might pull the same shitty move they did with Xenoverse 2, Kakarot, & Breakers. They need to stop adding micro transactions into these games. It's hella scummy and greedy.

It'd be an exaggeration if i say games nowadays aren't expensive, but as a game developer myself i can fully understand it. Games nowadays need a lot of fancy animations, graphics and performance just to keep up, with the current market of games, or it'll be labeled as trash, lazy and many other negative adjectives. And it's always a stretch when people say that games nowadays are more expensive than games in the past because duh, graphics get better, time developing the game increases while games in the past could've been coded in a year of two but now because it needs to follow high standards set by the gaming community it takes a lot of time which should be self explanatory. And next thing the video was ok in my opinion but you mainly focused on the characters which is literally not the only thing in the game because it has almost endless possibilities It has a story mode starting at Z and ending at Super which is much more than any game ever did (it is only focused on 8 characters tho which is acceptable ) but that is not even all in addition to the classic story you also have the possibility to play what if sagas which to my knowledge is a first. Next you're able to do custom battles and the customization is almost "endless" thus only limited by your imagination and you are not even chained to only create you can also use the custom battles others have created. When they say 3 days early access, what they actually mean is that you get to start playing right on time when it's ready while everyone else is just blocked from starting the game when it's ready to be played.

For the season pass I'm pretty sure they mean you'll get those 20 characters automatically as they are released, the only ones confirmed finished for now being the Super Hero androids. They aren't going to have a full roster of 20 DLC characters readily available from the start and I don't think they mean withholding base game content as a season pass either.
Thank you for mentioning what a lot of creators don’t. As much as I hate to say it, this is Ubisoft’s pricing plan. It doesn’t matter how much content is there, this is a ridiculous price.

I don't think dlc characters for fighting games are a bad thing, there's hardly any fighting game these days where the base roster is enough for the entire game's life cycle. The alternative is we go back to the devs releasing the same game for full price with adding a few characters and a balance update. If they're intentionally holding back ready characters that's scummy. But I think in this case, you pay to unlock them early, Gogeta and Broly will probably be unlockable in story mode.
I know the game is expensive, but after waiting 17 years, and also knowing the way dragon ball games are in the sense of always getting updates years after release (ie. Kakarot, FIghterz, Xenoverse 2). I think it's definitely worth it.

I find it strange to complain about the price and dlcs. Like dlc hasn’t been in the gaming industry for over a decade. The game also comes out 4 months from now. Nobody is telling anybody that their obligated to get the game. You have months to save up 70 for 164 characters on a game that is massive in scale compared to its ps2 predecessors

(hell i remember some games going for 70 in the ninties like "street fighter alpha 2" if you need an example.) a 70$ game today would cost about 42.50-ish $ back in 2004. you are literally paying less than back in the day. the reason why we have so many microtransaction is literally because there is a need for more revenue. some people see a big game like alan wake 2 or spiderman 2 and think that they easly make their money back. they barely do. alan wake as of may this year still hasn't turned a profit and from the last sony hack we also know that spider-man 2 barely made profit. dead space remake one of the best games last year was a flop as well. yet we have people getting angry at EA for not greenlighting a remake of the seond game. why would they? it's a failed product. it's a luxery hobby that over all remained really cheap.
You can unlock things in the base game it's already been confirmed, you're paying to get some characters off the bat, early release and a few other bonuses.

Alright, a few things: - The Season Pass characters aren’t included in the base roster (164) and I have no idea how you could think otherwise - XV2 still doesn’t have a Complete Edition (because it’s actively getting supported) You “didn’t have to pay” for more characters back in the day because, instead, you paid more for sequels that, more often than not, were essentially a balance patch + around the same amount of characters as a Season Pass and a half.
You could just save your money and replay Raging blast 1 & 2, even Tenkaichi 3 through a PS3, ALL on a 4K TV. Many TV's do their own version of up-scaling 'on the fly'. I have found the resultant effect to be quite unique and close to the memories we had of the anime ( which was pre HD....although they did remaster them later. The same is true for all xbox360/ ps3 games.
I just hate how greedy companies are getting. “Oooh, we should make the BASE game over $100 and if you preorder it you can play the game less!” “What if we make the digital deluxe almost $200 and give them every character in the game but because we’re lazy we’ll push those characters off till later and make it DLC and say that they’re getting it as a bonus for wasting their money!!
ngl, i happily paid the $118.17 for the ultimate edition, I was saying months beforehand i'd pay 200 dollars if i had to, and when the time came, I was going to get the collectors edition, but the $200 price point was too steep for me and I realized there was no way I'm spending $200. I've been waiting around 13 years for a tenkaichi 4, so the 118 I paid is good enough for me, I get DLC & some bonuses, can't wait to play the game

Im pretty sure nobody wants to be told what they should spend their money on but like you can just wait if the game is good or not before you buy it yourself instead of spending 100+ dollars on a videogame that isnt even out yet. You realize that the 164 characters IS the base roster count right?……..and the dlc characters coming down the road are just going to add onto that count. And the early unlock of characters is exactly what it says it is, you get the 3 versions of Gogeta (super) and Broly (super) as early unlocks, (you’ll be able to play them the second you turn the game on.) meaning you’ll be able to play them earlier than you would if you didn’t pre-order, because you then don’t have to unlock them like you normally would. I really don’t understand how this is so hard to understand…
I still play BT2 which is my favorite. Been playing since its release which soon will be 20 years and im not bored of it yet. The game is fun which is the most important part of it and what i fear will happen (as it usually does with most games) they will make this game more competitive and probably (I HOPE NOT) add seasonal characters you have to buy and not unlock >.> Also the community will be toxic 100% F that
Yes BT2 is also an amazing game. I never played it back in the day when released but play it now most days because of a RUclipsr called ZeroAnnihilated.
I will admit, I can definitely see the gripes of the money. Hell, I live paycheck to paycheck but I will still buy this game. As for what the Gogeta and Broly are, yes they are an instant unlock and they are already in the game via the base trailers we have gotten show casing them in their many forms. As for what the dlc means, to be fair we have seen nothing of Daima because it doesn't exist yet so we can safely say that its not gonna be a "they are already in the game they are withholding things from us" type of situation. The game is going to have 164 characters on launch and with 184+ from the three dlc. What the third dlc is after Super Hero and Daima, no clue. Who is the mystery character? No clue. We only know this guy has never been in the budokai series before so thats like...tons of characters. I will agree, the three days early thing is meh. We don't know much about the other special things they are adding like what does Shenron do or what does Super Shenron do, I'll be willing to wait out for more info on it in another interview or something. October is still pretty far away. And not too mention this game is bringing back its story mode, I know another way to go through all of dragon balls story for the 16th time hooray, but this time they let us choose and alter the story. SSJ Goku against Great Ape Vegeta, Krillin and Goku vs Raditz instead of Piccolo. All interesting things they have shown us and with how the models look with each new trailer, its got me interested. Originally I did want to go for the premium collectors edition but after seeing whats going on my xbox store its looking like a no go. The ultimate edition is probably what I will settle on, better than just passively going for Xenoverse DLC over and over again only to have nothing to do for months or even years at a time. And yeah, I agree on the Fighterz DLC, 8 bucks for one character...I'll wait for a sale dog lol. All in all, this game seems huge and with Goku's english VA saying he had 60 to 80 hours of voice lines recorded...I am interested. However, I will wait a bit longer before pre ordering now. Maybe after the next trailer. The statue looks hella cool though, would be excited to actually have it but budget is budget. Also the cover arts not that bad, could be worse.

While I usually don't condone these Pricings, I would lie if I said I didn't expect it. Bandai Namco knows how much this Game Series means for a lot of People Worldwide. On the other Hand 164 Characters is a lot. That is way more than even the usual Dragonball Game. Hell, Xenoverse 2 had around 90 Characters at Launch.
I get what you're saying, but games like this and other fighting games are the only games I'm okay with there being seasons and DLC. More characters means more reason to come back and updates. Fighting games are like the only genre where this fits. Back in the day you'd buy a fancy version a year later with more characters and essentially pay the same amount you're doing now. But I also get you're speaking from the perspective of a New Zealand er and it's really expensive over there. And games in of themselves are expensive so even if I don't agree I get that it just feels expensive and sucky for what it meant to entertainment
I'm not trying to justify it, but video games have always been an expensive thing. Just look at prices from the 90s and brand new games reached the $90 mark on the SNES.

@Ramble1234 Oh for sure. Games are weird because they used to be SUPER expensive. Then they went down to a regulated price of 50, and have slowly gotten more expensive. Still technically a good "value for dollar" proposition since you can pay 60-70 once and get hundreds of hours out of a game, but I get that people are tight now adays and would never be grudge someone for thinking this is a hard buy. All these games coming out in October and my wallet will be hurting.

Usually a deluxe edition is bad choice of money but when you consider what you are getting for the higher tear it the best bang for your buck. $1.50 per character is cool.
Honestly. I'm keeping my salt shaker until October 7-11th. Deluxe and Ultimate editions are okay to me tbh. But that DAMNED ABOMINATION of a Collector's Edition really pissed me off. Im so tired of getting modified statues and cheap merch for DB games. Like come on!, over $200 USD for A Metallic Bookmark and Trading Cards?!. It becomes more and more real that this could be the evolution of XV2's constant milking of profits with DLC for another decade... And I can only hope to Lord Zeno this wont be the case...😮💨
And the PC Edition's contents aren't my main reason for thinking this way, btw. The Season Pass and the first pack being related to DBS: Super Hero (a movie that's nearly two years old now) is such a lazy move for the devs that it only means "Give us more money" to me. I may buy Ult Edition just so I have it all. But Collectors editions should provide more than just recast/re-molded merchandise made by Bandai and Season Pass codes...
Agree with everything you said. The last few seconds about DLC cut deep and brought me back to the good ol' days of ps2 and BT3. Then the PS3 came out and online with wifi was built in.
I see your points but I have to disagree because 70$ is the price for all PS5 games recently while last gen games were 60$ which is a slight increase due to it being a next gen game and the other editions include a large amount of content while also paying for multiple dlc which are additional characters outside of the 164 roster which is a large amount of dlc as a whole. I wouldn't say dlc means that a game is incomplete because it is content that they couldn't fit into the game at launch because of both time and budget and had to add these characters later especially something like Daima that will possibly come out after the game which is similar to a 8 year old game like Xenoverse 2 that included characters that included characters that came out after the games launch which added more content to the game which isn't that much different from needing to buy new versions of the same game or yearly sequel ls with minimal updates in order to play characters they couldn't play in the base game.
I mean, I have been waiting 17 years for this game. This will be my first time ever buying an ultimate edition. Also base game will release with more characters than Tenkaichi 3 so it's not like you are not getting a whole lot of value for $70.
Hey, I agree that a lot of games these days are designed with season passes in mind. I don't mind paying for DLC when it's worth it, like the Fromsoft Souls games. But I do miss unlocking things through gameplay in older games. One thing I don't miss about the old Tenkaichi games is having to buy three different games for almost the same experience. I started with Tenkaichi 2, then got Tenkaichi 1 because 3 was too expensive. I'll never miss having to buy those games three times, almost always at full price. I'll take Sparking Zero with its season pass any day.

I'm trying to be super positive here. But i think the season pass is 20+ characters in addition to the 164 included in the base game. And you can unlock Gogeta and Broly by playing through the story, they're just early unlocks, there was another game that did this, it was either a Dragon Ball game or a Naruto one, i can't remember which. There's also an anime BGM pack mentioned in the japanese version of the pre-order site, which is a big yikes, but i knew they were going to charge for them.
I'm just gonna wait for a steep sale to get everything. I stopped getting big budgeted games at full price years ago. Thank god for steam sales and Bandai Namco puts games on sale frequently.
Same. I never buy games at full price. I can wait pretty much for any game, especially with the backlog that I have. Was hyped for The Witcher 3 in 2015, played it in 2017. Same goes for FF7 Remake. Came out in 2020, played it only after it was discounted on Steam at the and of 2022. And will wait for Rebirth the same way. I can wait years if I have to.
I think something to consider is that the original tenkaichi was released in 05 at $60 and then we paid for a full price game in 06 for another $60 and again in 07 for another… you guessed it $60. Now we pay $70 for a fighting game and then DLC over the span of years rather than having to buy a full price game every year.

There's not much reason trying to fight it either because SO MANY people will continue to pay for unfinished games, with crappy season passes slapped on them, and they don't care that they'll never own any of it in the all digital future.
How is this game unfinished without dlc? See I usually agree with this, I never buy anything above the standard edition and I've only preordered 1 game in the past decade. When a company listens to fans and goes above and beyond like this I literally do not care, I already preordered the ultimate edition for 110$ usd.

While she is honest, the crux of her video is based mainly on a misconception by her. Most evidence suggests the 164 characters will be the base roster. Hell most the DLC characters will be from a show that won't even be out when the game releases.

Yea that’s definitely it. They did say Base roster which means before dlc. I personally don’t mind DLC like if you have a complete game then DLC Is great for a game. Like in smash every new dlc trailer broke the internet but I don’t have any and smash has been an awesome and complete game for me
BT3 was 160 characters. Sparking Zero should be 164 characters as it is the next game and it states that it will have the most playable characters, the other 5 characters if you get a deluxe edition, ultimate or collector's means you're getting those 5 characters early without playing the story
I literally even bought the game Twice! I bought the 210€ editon for the figure and then the standard edition again to have it as a digital game. Also the prices are normal... every game costs 80€ and up to 100€ including the Season Pass. Nothing new here. It's been like that ever since the PS5 was born.

I’m literally in the process of making my first video back in a long time to talk about the new Call Of Duty and the hype around it, as well as the new American football games. We’re paying more for so much less, and the average person can no longer afford it. What’s even worse is larger content creators buying into the hype. This is such a weird take, they're doing the same stuff they did 8-13 years ago except putting more effort in now. And you act like it cost more, games hardly cost more than then used to, in the mid 2010s they averages like 60$ so I don't understand your complaint. I know our currencies are probably different but I'm curious how it is for you. For me a 60 -> 70$ difference isn't that big, and we're getting better games. This game is more complete in its base game than xenoverse is with its shit ton of dlc. And with 40 more characters at launch than xeno 2 has with all its dlc. I don't understand your point. The standard edition in 70$ for a higher quality game than when we were paying 60$, and just like before you have to pay for dlc if you want more stuff, your acting like the game isn't complete without the dlc when it's more complete than any game before it

I think there are some ways to get the game at a lower price, like talking to a friend from a third world country where the prices are lower for them (on Steam only I think). You send him money and he buys it and sends it as a gift to you. Like me I bought the ultimate edition with 70$ (40$ less).
I hardly ever buy new games, still happy with my BF4, fortnite, Fallout 4 and old Rockstar Games. So I'll pay alot more than $60 for the full DBZ Sparking Zero experience. I'm honestly so happy to have a new Tenkaichi game.
Honestly people should just wait until Christmas or after. I know it’s a couple of months but I guarantee you can probably get the game with dlc packs for $60 compared to paying $110.
I can understand why DLC is a good thing for online games. In order to keep online servers active, there needs to be new stuff once in awhile to keep players coming back. Sparking Zero is gonna have online gameplay, so it is gonna be a necessity. With that being said, it does seem way too expensive. If they already have it ready at launch, then let it be in the game at launch. This is just scummy.
I do think that making fighting game that succeed a prior game required a lot of revamp and upgrade to the gameplay and do something different to make it standout. It get to the point despite charging for a full price, these sequel games have contents that just samey to the prior games.
164 characters is the base roster don’t worry. Also DLC isn’t inherently a bad thing it extends the life of my favorite games. Let’s not act like DLC = Unfinished product, the game is certainly complete with the biggest launch roster of any DB game and stunning visuals. I feel like the easiest and most accessible way of making that change is going to the gym, whether it is to workout, do cardio or even boxing. Us Dragon Ball fans are also really lucky with how much free motivation we can get lol.
But generally, just try out some random things even if you don't expect yourself to like it because even if you don't, that unique experience will make it worthwhile, rather than living with the regret of not knowing whether or not you would have liked it.
Go for a run, read a book, write a book, draw, paint, pick up an instrument, join a band, listen to some obscure genre of music, try to befriend some random guy you usually pass over, climb some trees, use a different path to go back home, get yourself a pet, dance no matter how cringe you think you might look doing it, try gardening, try some random sport no one's ever heard of, craft a super-hero costume all by yourself or build a rocket. Just live.
You won't have enough time to do everything, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do anything. Already having wasted time doesn't mean you have to waste the rest. You only have one life and won't have another shot at it, so make sure you live it.
(This also applies to video games between. Trying new types of games you think you would never like is the best way to find fun in games when you think it gets boring.)
To be fair , BT4 Is still bigger than any game previously + DLC is less expensive than a sequel. All those years back you had to buy a whole new game

I'm pretty sure the 164 characters is the base roster, based on the wording of official sites and such. They did say it has the largest roster of any BT game and they wouldn't be able to say that if that wasn't the base roster.
Every transformation for them is a own character...so goku has like 15 slots...its the same char but with differend transformations...but they say its a differend character. So at the end the 164 chars are at the end like 30 chars in total....scam

Ha 30 to 50 of those characters are going to be just different versions of Arale, Goku, Vegeta, Fusion, Gohan, Majin Buu, Cell, Frieza, and Trunks. In truth there's really only around 60 characters.
Now obviously there's gonna be DLC for a video game, but I don't like the idea of paying $70 for a game no matter how much content is packed in it.

It'd be an exaggeration if i say games nowadays aren't expensive, but as a game developer myself i can fully understand it.
Games nowadays need a lot of fancy animations, graphics and performance just to keep up, with the current market of games, or it'll be labeled as trash, lazy and many other negative adjectives.
And it's always a stretch when people say that games nowadays are more expensive than games in the past because duh, graphics get better, time developing the game increases while games in the past could've been coded in a year of two but now because it needs to follow high standards set by the gaming community it takes a lot of time which should be self explanatory.
And next thing the video was ok in my opinion but you mainly focused on the characters which is literally not the only thing in the game because it has almost endless possibilities
It has a story mode starting at Z and ending at Super which is much more than any game ever did (it is only focused on 8 characters tho which is acceptable )
but that is not even all in addition to the classic story you also have the possibility to play what if sagas which to my knowledge is a first.
Next you're able to do custom battles and the customization is almost "endless" thus only limited by your imagination and you are not even chained to only create you can also use the custom battles others have created.
In conclusion to my chunk of text please don't judge a price of newer games some are justified unlike Ubisoft games but from what I've seen from sparking zero the 70$ price tag is more than justified if we consider all the stuff that we get and stuff that we will get after the release.

When they say 3 days early access, what they actually mean is that you get to start playing right on time when it's ready while everyone else is just blocked from starting the game when it's ready to be played.

For the season pass I'm pretty sure they mean you'll get those 20 characters automatically as they are released, the only ones confirmed finished for now being the Super Hero androids. They aren't going to have a full roster of 20 DLC characters readily available from the start and I don't think they mean withholding base game content as a season pass either.

You're right.
I don't think dlc characters for fighting games are a bad thing, there's hardly any fighting game these days where the base roster is enough for the entire game's life cycle. The alternative is we go back to the devs releasing the same game for full price with adding a few characters and a balance update.
If they're intentionally holding back ready characters that's scummy. But I think in this case, you pay to unlock them early, Gogeta and Broly will probably be unlockable in story mode.
I know the game is expensive, but after waiting 17 years, and also knowing the way dragon ball games are in the sense of always getting updates years after release (ie. Kakarot, FIghterz, Xenoverse 2). I think it's definitely worth it.

You can unlock things in the base game it's already been confirmed, you're paying to get some characters off the bat, early release and a few other bonuses.
Sparking zero is also unlocking things by playing, the pre-order bonus just means you can do it slightly earlier. And no, you dont need to pay extra

You “didn’t have to pay” for more characters back in the day because, instead, you paid more for sequels that, more often than not, were essentially a balance patch + around the same amount of characters as a Season Pass and a half.

Yeah, you have something that's been on a lot of some of our minds who haven't said it much publicly thanks.
You could just save your money and replay Raging blast 1 & 2, even Tenkaichi 3 through a PS3, ALL on a 4K TV. Many TV's do their own version of up-scaling 'on the fly'. I have found the resultant effect to be quite unique and close to the memories we had of the anime ( which was pre HD....although they did remaster them later.
The same is true for all xbox360/ ps3 games.
I just hate how greedy companies are getting.

You realize that the 164 characters IS the base roster count right?……..and the dlc characters coming down the road are just going to add onto that count.
And the early unlock of characters is exactly what it says it is, you get the 3 versions of Gogeta (super) and Broly (super) as early unlocks, (you’ll be able to play them the second you turn the game on.) meaning you’ll be able to play them earlier than you would if you didn’t pre-order, because you then don’t have to unlock them like you normally would.

I still play BT2 which is my favorite. Been playing since its release which soon will be 20 years and im not bored of it yet.

Yes BT2 is also an amazing game. I never played it back in the day when released but play it now most days because of a RUclipsr called ZeroAnnihilated.
I will admit, I can definitely see the gripes of the money. Hell, I live paycheck to paycheck but I will still buy this game. As for what the Gogeta and Broly are, yes they are an instant unlock and they are already in the game via the base trailers we have gotten show casing them in their many forms. As for what the dlc means, to be fair we have seen nothing of Daima because it doesn't exist yet so we can safely say that its not gonna be a "they are already in the game they are withholding things from us" type of situation. The game is going to have 164 characters on launch and with 184+ from the three dlc. What the third dlc is after Super Hero and Daima, no clue. Who is the mystery character? No clue. We only know this guy has never been in the budokai series before so thats like...tons of characters. I will agree, the three days early thing is meh. We don't know much about the other special things they are adding like what does Shenron do or what does Super Shenron do, I'll be willing to wait out for more info on it in another interview or something. October is still pretty far away. And not too mention this game is bringing back its story mode, I know another way to go through all of dragon balls story for the 16th time hooray, but this time they let us choose and alter the story. SSJ Goku against Great Ape Vegeta, Krillin and Goku vs Raditz instead of Piccolo. All interesting things they have shown us and with how the models look with each new trailer, its got me interested. Originally I did want to go for the premium collectors edition but after seeing whats going on my xbox store its looking like a no go. The ultimate edition is probably what I will settle on, better than just passively going for Xenoverse DLC over and over again only to have nothing to do for months or even years at a time. And yeah, I agree on the Fighterz DLC, 8 bucks for one character...I'll wait for a sale dog lol. All in all, this game seems huge and with Goku's english VA saying he had 60 to 80 hours of voice lines recorded...I am interested. However, I will wait a bit longer before pre ordering now. Maybe after the next trailer. The statue looks hella cool though, would be excited to actually have it but budget is budget.

Agree with everything you said. The last few seconds about DLC cut deep and brought me back to the good ol' days of ps2 and BT3. Then the PS3 came out and online with wifi was built in.
I see your points but I have to disagree because 70$ is the price for all PS5 games recently while last gen games were 60$ which is a slight increase due to it being a next gen game and the other editions include a large amount of content while also paying for multiple dlc which are additional characters outside of the 164 roster which is a large amount of dlc as a whole.
I wouldn't say dlc means that a game is incomplete because it is content that they couldn't fit into the game at launch because of both time and budget and had to add these characters later especially something like Daima that will possibly come out after the game which is similar to a 8 year old game like Xenoverse 2 that included characters that included characters that came out after the games launch which added more content to the game which isn't that much different from needing to buy new versions of the same game or yearly sequel ls with minimal updates in order to play characters they couldn't play in the base game.
I mean, I have been waiting 17 years for this game. This will be my first time ever buying an ultimate edition. Also base game will release with more characters than Tenkaichi 3 so it's not like you are not getting a whole lot of value for $70.

Hey, I agree that a lot of games these days are designed with season passes in mind. I don't mind paying for DLC when it's worth it, like the Fromsoft Souls games. But I do miss unlocking things through gameplay in older games.
One thing I don't miss about the old Tenkaichi games is having to buy three different games for almost the same experience. I started with Tenkaichi 2, then got Tenkaichi 1 because 3 was too expensive. I'll never miss having to buy those games three times, almost always at full price. I'll take Sparking Zero with its season pass any day.

Was hyped for The Witcher 3 in 2015, played it in 2017. Same goes for FF7 Remake. Came out in 2020, played it only after it was discounted on Steam at the and of 2022. And will wait for Rebirth the same way. I can wait years if I have to.
I think something to consider is that the original tenkaichi was released in 05 at $60 and then we paid for a full price game in 06 for another $60 and again in 07 for another… you guessed it $60. Now we pay $70 for a fighting game and then DLC over the span of years rather than having to buy a full price game every year.

There's not much reason trying to fight it either because SO MANY people will continue to pay for unfinished games, with crappy season passes slapped on them, and they don't care that they'll never own any of it in the all digital future.
How is this game unfinished without dlc? Dlc is at most a luxury that most people will or won't get, the base game already has more characters than any dragon ball game before it, Including xeno 2 with all its dlc, and if your someone that likes the graphics and the gameplay then it's just a higher value version, and that's just the base game so I don't get your point. The game is complete without dlc and you don't need to get it, it's more complete than any game before it

There is no season pass. I don't know what you're talking about. All you get with the deluxe edition is early access to Gogeta and Broly and a secret character.

See I usually agree with this, I never buy anything above the standard edition and I've only preordered 1 game in the past decade. When a company listens to fans and goes above and beyond like this I literally do not care, I already preordered the ultimate edition for 110$ usd.

What gets me is that it’s 70.00 USD now. But that’s for almost any and all games that come out nowadays which I hate. I’m still buying the game regardless but I wish the starting price was 60.00
See this Is why Hidden Is one of my favorite RUclipsr’s because she Is honest with her viewers that and she Is hilarious but, she Is right gaming use to not be so costly. Now a days you might as well take out a loan to even game. Same goes for IRL things as well.
While she is honest, the crux of her video is based mainly on a misconception by her. Most evidence suggests the 164 characters will be the base roster. Hell most the DLC characters will be from a show that won't even be out when the game releases.

BT3 was 160 characters. Sparking Zero should be 164 characters as it is the next game and it states that it will have the most playable characters, the other 5 characters if you get a deluxe edition, ultimate or collector's means you're getting those 5 characters early without playing the story
I literally even bought the game Twice! I bought the 210€ editon for the figure and then the standard edition again to have it as a digital game. Also the prices are normal... every game costs 80€ and up to 100€ including the Season Pass. Nothing new here. It's been like that ever since the PS5 was born.

The more we give into the hype and impulse purchasing of these egregious prices for less content the worse it’ll continue to get.
I’m literally in the process of making my first video back in a long time to talk about the new Call Of Duty and the hype around it, as well as the new American football games. We’re paying more for so much less, and the average person can no longer afford it. What’s even worse is larger content creators buying into the hype. It’s a lot easier to be hyped about a game when you’re getting flown out to demo it and you don’t have to worry about that next paycheck.

This is such a weird take, they're doing the same stuff they did 8-13 years ago except putting more effort in now. And you act like it cost more, games hardly cost more than then used to, in the mid 2010s they averages like 60$ so I don't understand your complaint. I know our currencies are probably different but I'm curious how it is for you. For me a 60 -> 70$ difference isn't that big, and we're getting better games. This game is more complete in its base game than xenoverse is with its shit ton of dlc. And with 40 more characters at launch than xeno 2 has with all its dlc. I don't understand your point. The standard edition in 70$ for a higher quality game than when we were paying 60$, and just like before you have to pay for dlc if you want more stuff, your acting like the game isn't complete without the dlc when it's more complete than any game before it

I think there are some ways to get the game at a lower price, like talking to a friend from a third world country where the prices are lower for them (on Steam only I think). You send him money and he buys it and sends it as a gift to you. Like me I bought the ultimate edition with 70$ (40$ less).

I hardly ever buy new games, still happy with my BF4, fortnite, Fallout 4 and old Rockstar Games.
So I'll pay alot more than $60 for the full DBZ Sparking Zero experience. I'm honestly so happy to have a new Tenkaichi game.
Honestly people should just wait until Christmas or after. I know it’s a couple of months but I guarantee you can probably get the game with dlc packs for $60 compared to paying $110.

I can understand why DLC is a good thing for online games. In order to keep online servers active, there needs to be new stuff once in awhile to keep players coming back. Sparking Zero is gonna have online gameplay, so it is gonna be a necessity. With that being said, it does seem way too expensive. Also think that even if you buy DLC, you should still have to unlock the content in the game. Having to unlock characters, etc. Is a huge appeal of games in general. If we just get the characters then there's not much reason to play it. Let's have something to grind for! Also day 1 DLC is ridiculous. If they already have it ready at launch, then let it be in the game at launch. This is just scummy.

I do think that making fighting game that succeed a prior game required a lot of revamp and upgrade to the gameplay and do something different to make it standout. It get to the point despite charging for a full price, these sequel games have contents that just samey to the prior games.

164 characters is the base roster don’t worry. Also DLC isn’t inherently a bad thing it extends the life of my favorite games. Let’s not act like DLC = Unfinished product, the game is certainly complete with the biggest launch roster of any DB game and stunning visuals. I understand the money standpoint but that’s also a two way street, games are 100x of times more expensive to make than in 2007 sometimes games aren’t financially viable without DLC
