Something I like to point out. Knuckles doesn't call Classic Sonic fat anymore, but Classic Sonic rubbing his belly during that cutscene is unchanged. Since Knuckles asks him where the rest of Angel island is, it looks like Classic Sonic ate the island. 😂

Story pretty mid to me. It was the bare minnimum for not forgetting human emotions but didn't do much with bring black doom, maria, and gerald back.
@@CosmicStudios397 Nah, mainline Mario games are the bare minimum of story. But I agree that it wasn't the most complex either. If you ask me, Dark Beginnings is insanely more complex and well-written than the actual game.

You say its weird that Tails doesn't remember the Chemical Plant but then he says "This is defiantly the Chemical Plant" which you didn't mention. Tails was more unsure in the original so this version fixes it

Forces had 7 whole zones, 4 of which were entirely unique and the other 3 where fully redone
Plus Sunset Heights is THE promotional stage when Forces was advertised at the time
Actually, Forces also remakes Grand Metropolis from Sonic Heroes, meaning there are only 3 original zones. City, Mystic Jungle and Eggman Empire Fortress. City probably being the most memorable one, that's why it was chosen, probably.

It just shares a similar name.
Like Sonic 2 metropolis.. and however many metropolis stages there are in other classic games
Also metropolis isn't quite as iconic since it wasn't the main marketing piece.. but it's still pretty much just as loved.
It's even been used to represent the series in things like the Olympic games
Orbot and Shadow have the same VA, so it shouldn't be surprising that Orbot would show up at some point.

I really wish Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) got an actual level representation. I really wanted to see Black Comet get redone like the 06 levels have.

I'm enjoying it so far. I do wish it could be a little bit longer with an extra stage or two. Its very well polished and yeah those cutscenes are awesome

Yeah, but it only uses 1 type of Wisp for big part of the acts. They could have put some more, maybe Hover and Cube, to mix things up.
The wisp stage is a lot less terrible when you realise you can boost on the gears

The gem Metal Overlord shoots is a reference to Knuckles Chaotix with one of the bosses being a prism itself, the thing he's shooting at Shadow

You can turn lives on in the settings
You know what's weird? The drop dash is a toggleable skill for Classic Sonic, but it's part of Modern Sonic's default moveset. Honestly I wish it were flipped around, I always like the drop dash on for Classic but with Modern it ends up happening when I don't want it to and I roll off platforms to my death often.
The reason they made Kingdom Valley from 06 is probably because Shadow in 06 was PEAK!
And I'd also would love to see 06 getting remaked or a Sonic Movie about 06
I beg to differ about amy because she was annoying asf being so unnecessarily clingy twords sonic and all of the characters were dying of dementia in the OG version. Also the sonic fight isn't a adventure 2 reference, its at the point where you reach the shadow boss fight in sonic generations.

A Sonic '06 Remake called "Sonic '26" would be hillarious
Metal Overlord wasn't the only Sonic Heroes boss to appear in Generations. The Egg Emperor appeared in the 3DS port of the original game, along with the Biolizard and Big Arms bosses. I understand why the 3DS would have a reduced number of levels but even there it has a completely different level set including Emerald Coast, Mushroom Hill, Radical Highway, Casino Night, Water Palace from Sonic Rush and Tropical Resort. Sega should add them into Sonic Generations & Shadow as a DLC.

2. the drop dash was in a mod for classic sonic in the 2011 version and was added for modern sonic in the 2024 version and for shadow as a mod.

Something I can’t understand is why Classic Sonic’s Dropdash is an equitable skill, meaning it can’t be used in Challenges, but Modern Sonic’s Dropdash is just built into his move-set???

Hey National, McDonald’s had just released the set of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe toys last week & guess what one of the characters they seriously add as part of the set 😅 remember one character related to Peach that nobody asked for?
I just finished the Shadow portion of this game myself and let me just say that this... is the most beautifully written Shadow's been in almost 20 years!!! Seriously, the gameplay is so smooth and the moveset for Shadow is hella fun Finally, his character in THIS game honestly gives his from Sonic 06 a run for its money and the story is; imo, the best one since SA2. Speaking of SA2, Shadow crying is something I haven't seen him do since SA2 in 2001, 23 years ago. I was 7 when the OG SA2 was released, but that's besides the point. The fact SEGA's bringing this formula back is a huge step forward in the right direction. And I love how they execute Shadow opening up to Maria & Gerald. While Shadow's character from Sonic '06 is 🐐-ed, it makes me happy; in some sick sort of way; to see this side of him that I don't think we've seen since his own game in 2005. Now I'm sure we have our own opinions on that game, but the scene at the of THIS game reminded me of how he felt so emotionally & mentally broken and yet still found the strength to move forward and never turn back (not to quote Crush 40). For me personally, that was just so beautiful to see again. All that is why Shadow the Hedgehog is my favorite Sonic character and one of my All Time Favorite Anti-Heroes...

In the end and like you, my only complaints are that I wish it were a bit longer and that there were more levels from other games Shadow's been in to play. Other than that, Shadow Generations has a 9.5/10 score in my books

Only took SEGA almost 20 years to finally "get" Shadow again, now I hope they do the same for Knuckles.
Shadow doesn't need wings. He has air shoes and when he came out of his thing in SA2 he Flys up to get the surface with Eggman with his air shoes and then after that 1 cutscene they never brought it up again

Few things i want to say:
2:49 thats called a game mechanic my friend. Just like how classic sonic can actually go to the past and future, but not in the games. And super sonic can last up to 2 weeks accoording to either sonic advance 2 or 3.
3:42 sega didnt choose what stages were coming to generations, they made a poll on their account(it was either facebook or twitter), and asked what the fans favourite stages were.
