Getting into a game like Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, especially after its long run of 8 years, can be a daunting task. It feels like stepping into a bustling city where everyone seems to know where they're going except you. But the biggest barrier I found when trying to get into Xenoverse 2 wasn’t the game itself but actually the store page.

The total price of the DLC is misleading on steam, and that's a flaw on that store page, it puts both the individual DLC AND the passes together, so you're essential doubling the price.
It's still a odd choice not to have an option to "buy all the passes" instead.
I understand That people are cringe but there's good people in the fighting game community like any other Xenoverse just might have a few extra undesirables in game / people with anger issues. So look it's a community good people and bad people co exist

i get that feeling about fighting game communty but steam is the worst paltform because of all the modder palying in offline so alot of events are unable to get partys the piece for xenoverse 2 is less than what on steam store because dlcs packs with the pack and signals are sold side by side buying the base game and each dlc that says pass and pack set cost not on sale i 150 dallors the that with legend pack set for the xenoverse 1 story added and conton vote pack i did not incude pre roder and music packs in the caclation becuase dlcs are sold beide there none bundled sets the peices are much higher to start out each pack has it own singal pack version and is set version of all dlcs in a given season some of them have 4 pack some have 2 pack bundled with a slight discount the ps4 version i and alot of firends palying alot of the communty takes it kinda like a mmo less like aaenra fighter there is alot of stuff you cant really do with the ai they give you for teamamtes even i bad palyer in xenvoerse 2 is better than a bot palying to it best so online is ususlly not that toxic beside the random ppl kicking you because they invited firend to a lobby for a pq and did not put slots clsoed because lazy dont go into aerna if you dont want to fighting game communty vibes
Not only that, but the items tend to go on sale basically at random, and all separately. And the switch version used to have exclusive dlc with the legends patrol, which is no longer the case, but they do get the preorder bonus for free, not that that matters when the PS5 and series x will be getting every dlc for free with a $60 new version. So like, now the switch version is definitely the worst, it used to be great for the exclusive stuff and the free dlc, but I mean literally that doesn't exist anymore.
Xenoverse 2 will LITERALLY outlive us at this point lmfao

They would be stupid to make a third game. Packing in more than $161.90 worth of paid dlc into “another sequel” and only charging someone for it all for only $60 is a horrible business decision. They’re already adding stp to the game because of losing profits from people modding their saves and tp medals and such. That says it all really,
@@HiddenChannelWith how they kept pumping DLC for XV2, but seem to have had interest on working on other games like FighterZs, Kakarot, Breakers, and now Sparkling Zero, I kinda doubt there will be a third game.
I feel like once we get Sparking Zero, and if it’s to out expectations, then not as many people are really gonna want a XV3, maybe that’s me.

This is definitely a problem for users that have played the game as well. Pretty much a lot of us don’t wanna keep spending $30 every few months for more mediocre-solid at best content for a game that came out nearly 10 years ago.
At this point I’m ready for them to end the support for this game and just give us a bundled rerelease that includes all dlc content in this game

I guess the devs realized there wasn't a point in making a Xenoverse 3 when 2 is profitable enough as is and lacked the issues the first game did. The game was capable of surviving on content updates that were also less taxing on the devs to make than a whole new would be as well.
As someone that has kept up with the DLC since the game's launch, ohhhhhh yeah, there is so much goddamn DLC

That way, there's no need to scower through the store pages looking at release dates
I am currently playing Xenoverse 1 before going into Xenoverse 2. I looked over the Xenoverse and the huge list of DLC's was definitely the first thing I was like "oh no". Currently playing Xenoverse 1 over first even if it might be similar to the second game. Though base game first, DLC's second that's my motto. If I do enjoy the 2nd game as much I do with the 1st one right now, I will probably get the DLC with Frost in it because Gods know I absolutely adore Frieza race. I love their design!
As a veteran player I am happy to see you step into the world of XV2. But I do agree that their is a better way to sell this game which is actually already out in Japan only. In Japan you can actually obtain the ultimate edition, containing all the DLC and it's dumb that it's locked to the JP version. Well except for Chronoa which is an event-exclusive character but you can use Save editor on PC to unlock her. Overall I agree with your take and I hope you can stick around to enjoy the content. Also since you're on PC check out a lot of the mods from the community like Revamp which remasters the game in a whole new way and I actually prefer that version.
3:15 I've been playing/uploading Xenoverse 2 since release even I dont interact with the community. Trust me, there are a lot of people that trash talk you if you use a move that they don't like. Even thought the game is +7 years old, im glad that its still receiving updates and the next update is coming up soon.
small bit of advice for anyone who finds themselves with a similar problem, in the settings in steam, dlc can be enabled or disabled if one wishes to play the base game first
I'm gonna say the cliché thing that has been said millions of times in this community:
*Modders do be carrying this game.* You try to rationalize with a fanboy, they instantly get passive-agressive because they can't accept that this game has been on a HUGE decline for years, quality wise.
I know this is not the main topic of the video but as a long time player who has 100% both XV1 and XV2 and have literally nothing else to do in the game other than destroying sweats in PvP, this game is DRY AS HELL. Because they don't like taking advantage of good ideas. Greed goes first for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 devs and publishers.
If you get on the shoes of someone who truly likes Dragon Ball, you would understand. That said, great video.
I played XV2 from launch and bought the first 6 DLCs. I stopped playing after DLC 8 because I got sick of the updates breaking the mods on PC.

I was actually thinking the same thing about the story jumps while watching others. Hopefully the June Update changes that however.

Yeah I regret not being able to keep up with all the DLC. Though now there is going to be a new upcoming Xenoverse 2 Ultimate Edition that will contain all the DLC released so far. For 60$. That sure beats paying over 400$.
Wrong on the dlc cost. “Best case scenario” no sales no tax all bundles and even with the music packs it currently comes to $161.90, but this is about to increase. That cost does not include the base game either. It’s certainly not over $400 for everything. And, who said they were doing that lmfao

Anyone watching and considering playing : DO NOT BUY NOW!! Wait for the next gen versions as it seems they’re holding off on releasing an Ultimate edition that holds all DLC up to the upcoming DLC. Anyone considering buying DLC, the best versions of abilities in the base game are locked behind some packs as well as “meta” moves that are most relevant/used in PvP
I hear the new Ultimate Edition which will have all the DLC might only cost $60 so that ain't bad for any new players looking to have everything

I really like Xenoverse 2, It is so much fun! I really like the selection of characters. I feel that it can be repetitive yet has lots to do
when it goes on sale you can get the game and all dlc for around $20-40 so do with that what you will.

42% of that are packs that are also included in bundles. Another 10% is just music from the anime, and another 3% is just the story mode from Xenoverse 1. So fortunately it's nowhere near as bad as it looks.
Though I'm basing it on the US prices so the percentages might be different in your region.
Playing PQ's with friends and rando's are fun, ESPECIALLY if i could get mods to run online with buddies

I'm happy i bought everything, just not all at once, and all on sale, including the dlc. Buying it all over time was the best for me.
Okay, but buying this over time and playing tf outta it, worth it, every penny. Especially when the game was alive and my friends would catch fades every day and we’d run fades online. Then PQs? XV2 has earned the title of a hood classic

Theres an ultimate edition coming up with all dlc packed into one for 60$. If you want to buy this then just wait for the ultimate edition to come out and get that to save a lot of money
I'm going to round up here. Right now on Switch the base game is on sale from 20 to 10 bucks. But there's a bundle that includes 7 DLCs.
The bundle pack claims that buying everything separately would cost 60 bucks. The bundle cost 50. But there's a 40% off of that price. So 30 bucks.
But that bundle includes the discounted prices of the base game and some of the DLCs.
If I bought everything separately and no discounts, it would cost about 90 bucks. So, would you rather pay 30 bucks now or possibly 90 later. FOMO is hitting hard lol

DBX2 and its DLC frequently go on sale every year sometimes multiple times a year on XBOX and Playstation.

The Japanese Ultimate Edition has all of it coming for $64.00. But we are waiting to see if there will be an English Equivalent.

I played the first Xenoverse, but didn't have internet in my house so all my characters were capped at lvl 80 and I couldn't update that to accomodate to 99. So basically I fell off a cliff. No matter what I was unable to finish the side missions because like Dragonball I literally was not strong enough
a key thing is there’s only 15 paid dlc packs and most are bundled together. what steam does is list EVERYTHING including the individual packs
If you're playing on steam or xbox you can uninstall specific dlc from the game until you're ready to play them, which is what I did recently when I got the deluxe edition but didn't want to play the dlc yet

A new edition will release soon with all the DLC for a total of 60$. OR the alternative, which I would suggest for everyone is to buy the game and all the DLC on key reselling websites. I managed to buy the game and all it's DLC for like 40$ just by looking for great sales and discounts on key reselling sites.

I bought the game and some of the dlcs while it was on sale since toriyama passing (RIP Akira Toriyama😢🕊️) and all their dlcs were like 5-10 bucks

played it on Xbox racked up almost 2000 hours about 300 on PS4 I switched to PC and thought about getting it but that DLC Cost plus the game is like buying a console I might just get a Xbox Series to play exclusively Xenoverse
Also consider how many 1 time events that you've missed. All with outfits you can't get elsewhere. Not to mention unlocking some characters like the festival characters, the supreme kai of time, and oh god, can we unlock demigra and the others once tp medals are gone, i didn't consider that.
This must be a steam thing on consoles we have sets that bundle stuff together. It has like 3 or 4 dlcs in one and you buy them all run you about 75$ to 125$ cheaper when we have sales. They playing yall foreal on steam.
And then there's me, on a DBZ kick, buying the game and some of the DLCs upfront, spending hours making a character and doing the tutorials, only to learn I don't actually like how it plays but have played it too long to return it. =(
Real I played the game hella in the first year and I beat the campaign and had the first year and I’m getting back into the game and I got some dlc from my friend game sharing then special edition and I login and I’m just like wtf do I do 💀

I think DBXV2 is the only game that I have found where more than half of the roster is all DLC Characters

Been playing both xenoverses since their beta's both are great games a true introduction to the dbz fan dream. Sadly bandai's greed prevents them from making xenoverse 3 a full open world experience at least that's what I like to imagine lol.
Love that their are still new players enjoying xenoverse take it slow enjoy the journey.
To be fair, the real reason as to why this game has gone on as long as it did was to give Sparking! ZERO the development time it needed.

Also some DLC has it's own continuous story so there's an order to that. (The Fu stuff I'm pretty sure IS DLC, right).
Just a quick correction. You don’t need to be on stream to take advantage of sales. All the dragon ball games go on sale pretty much every month on every platform. You can get base xenoverse 2 for like 5-10 bucks regularly on the psn. Same with fighters with the first season pass for about 15 Canadian. This also applies to xbox and switch, tho I see them on sale on PlayStation more.
sometime next month I think, there's doing to be an ultimate edition with all the dlc besides the upcoming, except tp medal purchases and music pack for like $65 total. which is like only $5 more than a new base game. I think Japan has it now.
