    Thank you. That was very helpful. Short, sweet and to the point. My problem is the patience factor. Once I have the model covered in primer, it's ready for the paint shop, but I do like to try new things and if it adds to the aesthetics of the build, I'll give it a whirl. I think that's a run on sentence.

    Wow. I finally understand how to do this. Thank you so much. Coincidentally, I happen to be building the Tamiya P-47, but I will be using the little chief markings. Now, I need to buy the Rosie the riveter. I bought the Trump one and I can’t get along with it. There is no visibility. Thanks again.

    Kangero releases Topdrawings and MMP books distribute Scale Plans for many AC including the P-47 in 1/72, 1/48th and 1/32nd. I own both types for both Bubble Top and Razorback. Once you have those you can make as many copies as you like off your printer.

    Good tutorial. Although it looks time-consuming it does make a difference.

      The hardest part is finding out what aircraft would show them. The P-51D wouldn't as it was puttied and laquered, but then the P-51B and Ds show rivet dimples after they've been in service. I'm doing a Spit XIX PR and D without the riveting right now and it feels like it's missing something :)

    So, having a little trouble putting this into practice. I have my P-51D blueprint. Panel on drawing: 23.19mm. Panel on model: 32.42mm. Now, 32.42/23.19 = 1.398.
    In Photoshop, to print on on sheet, I scaled down to 63.55%. Now what is the relationship between 63.55% and my scale of 1.398%? In your tutorial, when you enter your 83%, the drawing is at 100 percent. Doesn't that mess up all your measurements? How to I re-scale my drawing, in consideration of the re-scaling already done to initially print out the drawing. Hope this makes sense. I'm all dressed up with no-where it go.

    This is useful, thanks for sharing. I’d likely use this to replace rivets lost to sanding or to busy up some panel areas but maybe as my confidence grows I might look at doing the full monty on kits such as the Matchbox Stranraer. 😅 Any tips on doing raised rivets?

    • @TheModelGuy
      @TheModelGuy  Год назад +1

      Raised rivets are a mystery to me. I know there are 3D ones available from Eduard. So maybe cut off ones as you need them?

    Thanks for this!! I tried using a blueprint and it drove me crazy. My solution was to create fictious rivet lines and the result was busy enough for me. Question: what is the advantage of riveting after the kit is together? Doesn’t that complicate riveting the compound curves of the fuselage? Thanks!!!

    • @TheModelGuy
      @TheModelGuy  3 года назад +1

      There are advantages and disadvantages . If you rivet before the parts are together, you run the risk of losing them during clean up if fit isn't great. But they are easier to do. The opposite is for riveting after assembly. They are trickier in some places but you don't have to worry about losing them.
      For riveting around curves, I'll roll the model instead of moving the tool. Gray ensures no sudden kicks

    Hey Model Guy! Are you able to sell your scanned images for Rivet patterns 1/48 Planes at all? 1/48 Airfix Sea fury, 1/48 P47N T Bolt( N may use modified Tamiya M kit. etc.), 1/48 Tamiya Corsair. I plan to make 1/48 Accurate Miniatures F2G Super Corsair( I wish I could down size that canopy by the thickness of the vac. form though?) I am trying to acquire some more of the Rosie Riviter tool sizes now, but scanning is beyond my current capabilities.

    • @TheModelGuy
      @TheModelGuy  2 года назад

      I could send you what I have but you’d still need to scale them to your printer. I grabbed them off google. There is an article for ether 1/48 Sea Fury where a guy made all of the corrections to the kit. That’s world reading over.

      Lol. I’ve been jazzing up my planes for years now. Eduard kits, resin, plumbing. Riveting has always eluded me. I tried a few times and messed it up. In my stash, I have an 80s Monogram 1/48 B-58 Huster, my all time favorite. Ultimately, I would like to build it with rivets, in NMG. It will take a lot of practice before I am confident enough to work on that kit. BTW, I ordered your yellow tweezers too. They look great.
