Do not worry. I am still making models, but I am working on another quite tricky project and is quite time consuming, so I made in my free time another DIY video. Primarily because it is fun for me, and It is a pleasant change.
Hey David, I love that you are still making DIY and alternate technique videos! I find many content creators do videos that gives ideas on making your own tools or supplies when their channel is new, and then stop making them when they gain popularity and sponsors. So I just wanted to thank you for adding variety to your channel, and giving me low cost options to experiment with.
Thanks. I still remember the days when I started with models. I did not have an airbrush and usually asked my parents if I can buy new colors. And I am usually sad that someone wants to start with models and he thinks that he needs all the professional tools. I have a need to crete some video series for beginners. I will see.
Excelent! You are a genius. You can explain in a simple way a construction of a tool that help us to improve our works. Thank you from Argentina. Daniel
Thanks for sharing. These tools are generally too expensive for the average or new modeller. It just shows that with a little thought and patience you can come up with something that works so much cheaper. 👍
Great video man! I am sure I will try this one. Only remark will be about you handling a file. With plastic it is ok to move file forward and backward. But with metal you should only make forward move with applied pressure. Backward moves doesn't remove any material and make your file dull.
I have been following this Chanel for more than a year and every time a new video comes its so beautiful and extremely professional, keep up your good work David!✈️
Thanks for this "shot and sweet" video. Making these riveting tool will be quick and easy. I like all your videos, but I like best the ones that make specialty tasks easier.
I love watching you build models but more of these home-made tools would be great. It's nice watching you use your modelling skills to create things to create models.😁 Your tools are finished to a high standard too, don't look home-made, and probably far better quality than some of the rubbish on sale nowadays. Using steel rules as a cheap source of metal is a clever idea, nice straight edges and 90° corners ~ very handy and, of course, really easy to measure.😀 Cheers for now, Dougie.
Nice! Just a small helpful tip. Instead of the superglue for the thread, I would use a threadblocker. Makes it easier to lose the nut if the need should ever arise.
Of course! Clock cogwheels! 😮🌴 Dang it, I just spent a small fortune on "Rosie" tools last year. Please make more of these toolmaking videos. Maybe I can still save money on something that I didn't know I needed for modelling ... 😉
I wondered why you would cut up a perfectly good steel ruler for this, then I recognized you had already done so for your photoetch bender. The ruling marks are good measuring points on the bender, and good glue-holding "tooth"" on the riveting tool where smooth metal could slip out. Very subtle.
Brilliant. No way I was going to pay the exorbitant prices for the Rosie Riveter tools. I was looking at clock mechanisms, but watch meachanisms are a better idea. Thanks Dave
Totally brilliant idea. I was just looking at buying a set and saw the prices . . . very very expensive. What you produced was easily as good as 'Rosie the Riveter', which is deemed as the best on the market. I'm thinking of trying out some of the small Dremel circular saw blades that might not even need the teeth grinding down from square. I also need a curved blade for getting into the small areas like between the wing and the fuselage. This could simply be a section of circular saw that doesn't have to turn . . . similar to the galaxy riveting tool. Many thanks for heading in this direction. Should be good fun too.
i would advise using an old steel butter knife for the handle, you can cut the blade down and drill it and will probably be cheaper than the parts required to make the handle from scratch
Beautiful tools you made 👏👏👏👏 impressive, we haven't seen you build another scalp model, perhaps you'll start printing your own. We can't wait to see another video of yours.
Okay okay.... Ill tell him.... Strip / Metal strip. Wooden strip. As in striptease. Stripe .... A stripe is a line of sorts. Very different sound when pronounced. Love your tip David.
Do not worry. I am still making models, but I am working on another quite tricky project and is quite time consuming, so I made in my free time another DIY video. Primarily because it is fun for me, and It is a pleasant change.

Excelent! You are a genius. You can explain in a simple way a construction of a tool that help us to improve our works. Thank you from Argentina. Daniel
To be perfectly honest: I dont know anything about modeling. I watch your videos because your Voice calms me and I get to see the WWII stuff you make.
Руки из плеч растут . Молодец 👍👌
This video was so riveting
To have the ability to be creative is the best gift that man can have.
These look better than any tool that you can buy commercially. I made the small part folder and love these.
Best modeling channel on RUclips!!!
Wow, all these years i thought you were someone that look older.
I guess good eyes is required for doing the small details
Idk why but I tought you was asiatic

This is PURFECT! I have been wanting to make my own, just because I COULD, now I CAN THANK YOU!! YOUR AWSOME!!!
Of course! Clock cogwheels! 😮🌴 Dang it, I just spent a small fortune on "Rosie" tools last year. Please make more of these toolmaking videos. Maybe I can still save money on something that I didn't know I needed for modelling ... 😉
Nice idea but if you don't have those tools it's cheaper just to buy one. Keep the builds coming.
Thank for sharing, your work is very beautiful
I like these little tool projects!!
I wondered why you would cut up a perfectly good steel ruler for this, then I recognized you had already done so for your photoetch bender. The ruling marks are good measuring points on the bender, and good glue-holding "tooth"" on the riveting tool where smooth metal could slip out.
Very subtle.
The use of old watch gears is a good idea! Awesome video as always!
Thanks, David. Good to see you!
Your series with hand made tools became more and more interesting. All the best for You! ;)
I will warm this up: counter locking nut:) i am watching your videos with my child. Greeting from Poland

Nice tool man!
This video is unique, I was looking for something similar, thank you so much David
Now we know the face behind the masterpieces
Старая школа)) Все как в учебниках по моделизму))
I will definitly try it out! I don't have something like this on my tool rack, so this will become handy if I ll build a plane again.
Thank you for sharing your creativity 👍🏻
You have far too much spare time, friend!!😆 Love your work👍
Brilliant. No way I was going to pay the exorbitant prices for the Rosie Riveter tools. I was looking at clock mechanisms, but watch meachanisms are a better idea. Thanks Dave
Brilliant! And may be customised as you like!!!
Nice work, great idea.
Excellent tools. Nice job. Always nice to see your videos.
Nice work David, simple and effective with a great result. Time to smash my old watch!

Watch gears is a genius idea!
Thanks, nice Idea, couldn’t buy them here in Asia. But making them is no problem.
What a great idea! I was ready to buy a 'genuine' tool but having watched this, I think I will give making one a go..Thanks!
You’re a genius.
Hello, David!
It's perfect. I advise you to engrave on the holder "PLASMO", it will be very cool
i would advise using an old steel butter knife for the handle, you can cut the blade down and drill it and will probably be cheaper than the parts required to make the handle from scratch
Great little tool. Excellent job on the video!
I recommend Rolex winding gears. They are made with 516L steel, much stronger than the cheap Seiko ones made from brass.
Excellent! Again, loving these DIY videos, thanks 👍
Wow! Great work!!
Yet another amazing DIY video!
Beautiful tools you made 👏👏👏👏 impressive, we haven't seen you build another scalp model, perhaps you'll start printing your own. We can't wait to see another video of yours.
I love your accent so much
