Stunning build! Just wish the video was longer! Maybe 2 episodes!
I will make two bonus videos for enthusiastic modelers. :-D
what an artist, deep respect
I think i could watch more than 24 hours of this build, every step from start to finish.
We just got back from DC and I got to see this plane in person at the Air Museum. It was quit impressive as is your work. So well done!
Beautiful craftsmanship. Your work is awesome and inspiring.
You've elevated a hobby to an art form. Utterly astonishing work.
How could 43 people (idiots) vote against this??Note no attempt to explain why. It would be laughable. This is modelling perfection. One of my favorites of David's work and it is never less than exceptional and unequalled!
Your work to upgrade the wheel wells and landing gears is a triumph. The best bench
skill of the decade is your landing light lens trick. I went to my bench right away and made one for a MK IX Spitfire I just finished. The kit supplied lens is well hidden on the floor at my summer cottage.
Many thanks for your posts. Your weathering skills are starting to 'rub off" on me.
Seriously dude, every single video you go above and beyond the call of duty to make a visually stunning and inspiring model. From the scratch building, using historical photos to make sure you get even the landing leg well to look perfect, all the way to using those same historical photos to make sure you the Era camouflage schemes spot on. Dude, I wait with baited breath for each new video and look back through your old ones for even more inspiration for my own projects.
thank you so much for your amazing videos and keep up the great work, you rock man
So much talent, creativity, and ingenuity! Great Video 👍
I’ve watched all your videos and this is the best one yet. Not because of the subject matter but the descriptions as to what exactly you are doing, when you are clear coating, what you are using etc..
A fantastic result of the Heinkle He 219 Owl.A great paint job. Thanks David.
This seriously blew my mind how detailed this is, it's incredable.
Oh my.......
The radar takes it to next level or more!
There are a handful of masters doing this level of work - you are one
brilliant
I really like the way you not just put together, but created the landing gear. Awsome!
Nice work. I read a book a million years ago by a German Night Fighter pilot called "Duel under the stars" one of the best books I ever read, It introduced me to the concept of "no good guys in a war". He went into detail about the bombing of Dresden which was, without doubt, a war crime.
oh year, the Dresden bombardment... the big problem of talking about this war crime is that there never have been any war crimes done by the US or other allied in WWII. so - by decree - they never existed. but, just for the Dresden case there were reports given by eye witnesses. and there were messages given by some nordic newspapers that illustrated the real story about that night in Dresden. this city - at that time - was a shelter point for many humans, outstanding most of them noncombatants - but civilians. so tell me some one what did the bombers expect to bomb that night? what did the air fighters expect to shot at the shores of the river Elbe? military - really? nope, they got a full hit onto the civilians - and they knew it! and - as i guess - it was intended.
@@rp8133 Yes, you just defined terrorism. Bomber Command (it was the British, not the Americans) were deliberately killing civilians en mass, to demoralise their enemy. It didn't achieve this result. By this stage of the war all humanity was pushed aside. The Americans did the same thing (this time successfully) with nuclear weapons in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Bizarrely these two nuclear attacks were less lethal than some of the phosphorous attacks such as Dresden. Many, if not all, of the bomber crews did not want to slaughter children by dropping clouds of burning phosphorous onto their homes. But they were forced to do so by their leaders. War is the ultimate act of human stupidity. The most stupid part is; the "victor" gets to write the history books and leave out the parts that show they too, were monsters. When you ignore history, you are doomed to repeat it.
You are both conveniently forgetting the London blitz where the Nazis bombed nothing but civilians so what’s the difference? This is the problem with armchair critics like you people who know little about the reality of the situation. My opinion.
I find the riveting is the most impactful detail on these models so yes, it's SUPER worth it!
It does! The only trouble is that's never as easy as David makes it look :D
I am ALWAYS blown away with your ART David! I ALWAYS look forwards to seeing another one to end my day on an inspired and happy note. The only negative is realizing my own limitations, knowing that no matter how 'nice' my models are, neither I or any one else I have seen in my 57 years will ever equal or surpass your GENIUS! Just breathtaking! You should be world FAMOUS!
I've had this kit in my model stash for 12 months now and haven't got round to building it. Now I see yours and OMG how can I build anything close to this! Superb work as usual Plasmo 10/10
Awesome as always!
True,true
The cockpit detailing is amazing!
I have watched a lot of your builds but this one really stuck out as exceptional !! Well done -
Not only a beautifully crafted kit, but an excellent video - like always. Thanks for sharing!
Stunning models. You are a master builder.
Beautifully built HE 219
The amount of details you do make these models look extremely realistic and amazing. Good work, well done.
I learn so much from you. One thing I do that gives a nice effect is to actually scratch the paint instead of painting on scratches. I add a gun metal wash inside the scratch. I dont scratch deep, just enough to dent the paint.
Sounds like an interesting technique, James!
nice idea! I personally use Salt Technique to make scratches and chipping too, but it is a bit difficult sometimes
It is a useful technique for heavy weathered japanese models or AFV, but I do not recommend if you need only a few scratches. You can easy overdone scratches and result is more or less random. Also, it requires more layers, and the whole process is time-consuming. However, it is handy technique and is good to know it.
I don't even do scratches
As always it looks ridiculously good and surreally real. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
This is not model building- it's art- simply amazing
This has to be some of your best work .
One of the best looking camos I've seen.
I like this concept of mixing a tutorial with an artistic presentation.
Watching you build a model is like taking a mental vacation. Incredible- as always!
It's incredible well worked, I think plastic modeling is not very popular because people don't see the passion and the hours of work behind it, this is a fucking piece of art, a masterpiece! All the details and everything, it gives me the necessity to get into it again! Such an amazing job man, really, great job!!
Perfection of perfection!
amazing build...…...love the way the camouflage was hand painted and the attention made to the antennas. I've actually stood face to face with a messerschmitt 110 nightfighter with antennas and exactly the same camo you've done for the he 219......spot on!
What a gorgious model! Love the cammo paint job - hats off to you!
So pleasing to listen to your voice and watch this...
A great video and a beautiful model.
Great job on a beautiful model
Thanks for doing a 1/48. Brilliant work as always.
Your the greatest diorama creator ever I've been watching this show for 3 years still never boring
Beautiful work and thank you for sharing your build techniques with us!
You sir, are an artist.
Ohledně toho opotřebení jsem zvolil variantu what if. Každopádně připadalo mi to pořád nějak nudné a moc jednotné.
Incredible work.
WOW, Awesome and very realistic model. Like the way you put those extras in it!
I find it hard to believe how people can watch one of your videos David and not press Subscribe. They are truly beautiful. Keep up the amazing work!
Awesome work!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! It very real!!!! 👍🏼👍🏼
ThT camouflage pattern is awesome. The details you apply to you’re models is what makes keep coming back as you give so much information as well. Keep up the good work.👍
Wow! Love the Uhu, and you made it look even better!
Great build, and great to see you do a 1/48th scale aircraft again.
Stunning as always , best you tube channel on here for modelling by far
It's absolutely astonishing how good people can get at stuff they do for a hobby
Those rivets... perfectly straight...loving the detail very much!
Beautiful!
Makes me want to build again.
That metal circle tool trick is fantastic!
Just stunning love your videos. Great information !!
David, I don't do any modelling, but I have to say that I find your work fascinating and your channel compelling.
Amazing. Your airbrush skills are phenomenal.
Wish your videos went on longer. So many areas not covered (not that I’m complaining) that camouflage paint is awesome. Thanks David
I know, but ordinary people do not watch long videos. However, do not worry. I will make two bonus videos for enthusiastic modellers. Lending gear and painting German night camouflage. I have a lot of hours of video material so I will use it.
PLASMO - plastic models that’s why you’re the best out there mate. I’ve even started watching your old videos again 😉
Fantastic, a great build. You are in a league by yourself.
The Bf 110 and Ju 88 might be better known but the He 219 Uhu was one bad-ass night fighter! Enjoyed the video, another excellent build 👍
An absolutely beautiful model. I really enjoy every one of your videos and learn so much. Thank you.
Incredible detail work , true expertise , amazing kit
Amazing paintwork.Breathtaking model.
Very Well Done instruction in how a great modeler does his work and tell us how. WOW!
Nicely done, the details on the cockpit are incredible.
I've also build this kit 3 years ago, but I use the stencil marking that came with it to make a near flawless scheme, it won bronze at a model and is still my favorite plane I've made.
Oh yes! My favourite german night fighter of World War 2! Thanks for your great video. You have taught me a lot about how to model through all your videos. Thanks. Keep it up.
@tacfoley That's a fat oof for the operator
tacfoley the he 219 ha ejection seats so maybe that is why he was only flying in a seat
museum quality model, created by a master artist....
Great work as usual. I love to weather my models as well. I don't use the same techniques that you do, but I get a very similar look. Don't stop making your videos. I love to watch them.
Such a sexy plane. Its armament was off the charts powerful (20 & 30mm cannon in various configs) and it was FAST. And you're right about its camo. So many people assume it's grey blotches over light blue, when it would be so much more logical (ie easier) for the groundcrews to do squiggly lines of blue over a grey base.
Fantastic work! Very impressive! Well done sir!
Great work! Just one note though the antlers on the front are not for radio but for the radar detector . You can see the radar scope on the top of the back cockpit instrument panel. The Heinkel Uhu " Owl " was a night fighter and the radar equipment was used to spot and attack enemy bombers after dark. Very advanced tech at that time. Now i hope that any body can figure out why the engines have such long exhaust pipes!
...and the tail Radar Antenna is "passive" receiving enemy night Fighter detection.
The long exhaust pipes were used as "Flame killers" in the night.
These models are beyond art they are masterpiece's !
Very impressive...really enjoyed the weathering process with the oils. Great airbrushing skills too- not the easiest camo scheme to take on...and to get it right.
Turn building plastic models to an zen-art. Fanstastic.
Brilliant work! The cammo looks fantastic - love it!
Fantastic work as always David. Thanks for posting 😊👍
Amazing work. Truly talented modeler.
Wow! amazing. I just bought myself a Revell Bf 109 G-6 and a Pro Modeller Me 410 B. They will be my first models. I'm doing a lot of research to get the right tools and learn the right methods. Thanks for the vid!
Love how you call them models, I call them works of art.
David, every model of yours is a masterpiece, amazing. you are really inspiring.
Beautifully done David. I really loved the paint work on the camouflage. Thank you for sharing.
Amazing work! And very educational and motivating!
Outstanding work, man !!! Couldn't be done better.
Excellent work David, i could sit and watch you all day . I feel that this is your best model yet , simply stunning my friend. Very well done 😃👍
Just wished to let you know how much I am enjoying your build videos you've produced. Been a member or affiliated with IPMS (usa) since 1989, and I'm still amazed at the # and quality of the kits produced today. Please continue to make models that might inspire and/or motivate viewers. A parting inquiry for you. Which kit or brand has brought about the most change. Being an aviation nut. The 1/48 scale BF109E-2/3 from Hasagawa to me is, with out a doubt, the biggest influence on future releases and the cottage industry support. Sorry for the length of this but you've stirred my modeling juices. Steve
Awesome build, as usual I get more pleasure seeing your videos, keep up the good work.
Really amazing!!! Among the best works i have ever seen! AWESOME!
Fantastic work, I really like the metal cockpit tub, never seen that before. Another work of art!!
The big metal part - that's famous TAMIYA !!! : otherwise the model would stand with the Front gear in the Air !
Another fantastic build! Well done.
i am impressed, the wheel wells, well done sir, well done
Awesome work, as always, David!
Great work bringing this incredible aircraft to life! Your technique with the landing gear was jaw-dropping, I loved that bit of added _"flare"_ ! :) Bravo sir Bravo!
You are simply the best. I hope to see Museum of Arts around the world showcasing your work. "MOMA presents Damek". This was absolutely amazing to watch.
SIR you are an artist - BRILLIANT work
