There was no time for the real ones get any kind of kid gloves treatment as most of them toward the end were being assembled and cobbled together in the forests.
I took a break from building my 1/48 scale B-24 Liberator thinking that after 50 years of building models I had been doing pretty good. Until I saw this video. Back to the drawing board. This guy is a master modeler, and that's an understatement. Happy New Year to you and yours from America.
In the beginning I thought I'd skip the video at points, but when I realised a masterpiece was being created out of a very basic model I stayed watching in awe.
David Damek is undoubtedly a class apart in the modellers community; he's not a professional modeller anymore but rather a Master modeller who belongs to the categories of Mig Jimenez, JM Villaba and many others masters, I have been seeing is progress and he is astonishing the development from a professional to a Master. Time for the big brands in Model Community look at this amazing modeller. Well done again David
If you think plasmo is great which he is check out Rojasbazan B17 flying fortress all metal scratch built the most Astonishing model of a b17 you will ever see!!!
Outstanding! Love your detail and paint work. Everywhere the exact right amount of sheen. Nothing is overdone and everything blends together to create that awesome "hyper realism". Incredible job on the exposed engines and the wear and weathering! I can almost smell the oil and fuel! Makes a LOT of professional model builders for classic Hollywood movies look like beginners! Thanks for sharing your incredible work!
I must admit...this is truly an incredible work. It is obvious that you love what you do and that leads to the unbelievable models that you create. Thank you for sharing.
Excellent work! Videos like this need to be shown to small children and babies so they will grow up with a passion and respect for the scale modeling hobby!
David, it's truly amazing how you add all the details into your models. This is gorgeous! I can't wait to see more of your models. Thanks for sharing your builds.
I had to pick my jaw off the floor after watching this. The detail on the cockpit and engines especially is off-the-charts brilliant. Superb work and thoroughly inspiring.
Yet again, you bring us excellence beyond the measure of us mere mortals! It is both deep erudition and joyous delight to watch you work, and to marvel over the finished model.
What a skill! This brought me back to making models as a teenager. It really makes me want to start the hobby again! Your attention to detail and skill are amazing. Thank you.
zam023 I disagree, although snapfits are in no way an indication of skill level, I think the opposition wanted to make a point about the complexity of the model
I feel that Snap-Fit models would be a good starting point in model making. I'm merely a beginner, my first and only completed model is a Pro Modeler 1/72 Bf 109 G-10 and I feel that if I had started with a snap model, I would've done a much better job.
omg so im fresh back into modelling after a 37 year break and i choose to do a me262 (hobby boss) as its a fav of mine, im half way through it, watched a couple of builds and im thinking well hmmm mines as good if not better then i watched this one !!!!! blew me away !!!! what a fab build chap
The last few days I have spent some time watching your videos and I realised you have given me such pleasure that I had to take some time to write you that I love your work. Most of the models I see, even the really good ones, look like well-made toys but your work goes far beyond that. I find every single method you have developed to do things amazing. I like how you always modify the original model adding details yourself, I like how you always spend time to exaggerate the smallest detail (e.g. rivetting) and then how you add by yourseld all the little extra microdetails (eg wires, pipes etc), I like the way you do the weathering and make it look old and used. I think that the main difference of your work from all the others is that you don't use a single key method to achieve high realism. You use all the keys and also, in every single model, you invent and develop your own new keys. Keep up the good work!
Just awesome! What is so amazing is as you watch the video and see all the hard, concentrated effort to show how the different techniques are done for detailing, you can't fully appreciate it until you see the still photos and how realistic it looks. Just Amazing and Awesome!
100 hours? You know, it’s possible that putting one of these together on the assembly line took less time, back in WW2. ABSOLUTELY incredible attention to detail! Particularly liked the radar antenna!

What a beautiful first class job! You certainly have a lot of patience, a good eye for detail and technical experience. I bet the damn thing can fly! Thanks for sharing.
A great modelling job on a great model of a great aircraft, the first jet night fighter in history. The photos of the actual Me 262B I have seen show the top of the wings and stabilizers to be a solid color, RLM 75. Unfortunately, much of the detailed interior will be covered up when the fuselage halfs are assembled. But at least there is photographic history of the assembly and painting.
Très beau travail, comme d'habitude. J'ai beaucoup apprécié le travail sur les trappes d'accès moteur et celui sur les volets baissés. Le travail de gravure des plaques et génial aussi. Merci
Very well done. It is a beautiful presentation of an historical icon of that period. I'm impressed by your level of craftmanship to produce such an excellent model. Thanks for posting this.
That is without doubt a fantastic job .even way too much detail that will never be seen .your absolute attention to detail is amazing . Keep posting you inspire us mere mortals !
David... That has to be one of the most beautiful things I have seen in a very long time... A true labor of love by a master... Well done & thanks for sharing this with us...
You sir are the Da Vinci of the model world. Your models need to be in an art gallery. Perfect. Truly inspirational work. Always a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing your secrets. NEVER STOP!!! :) All the best to you.
Fantastic job, congratulations dude! In my opinion this one is the best airplane you have built so far. I totally enjoyed every single second of your videos of this build.
As usual imaculate build only one issue extremely few 262s had no putty filler or pinking tape on their rivets and panel joins. Even so the paint was applied so thinly almost exclusively over bare metal with no primer that it was visible just as you've shown in your paint. Fantastic job just got motivated to build my Trimaster kit of that vatiant as well as the 2a to go with my 1a I hate putty all over the model though it does help paint the panel lines with RLM 66 to simulate the putty.

100hours 😨😨😨😱😱
what!?
You're crazy
A normal modeler needs maximal 6 hours for a very good model
But you build in 100 hours an amazing model
Nice work👌👍👍👍😉

What do you mean by "professional modeler"? Do they sell their finished models?
@raymond perrault Yes. Many are commissioned to build models for museums, displays etc.
