I just got back into modelling after 30yrs in my career and, knowing things had changed since I was 10 (53 now), I asked at a hobby store what I might need to get back into it... staff was super helpful, but then this older guy (who had a TON of experience, to his credit) started bombarding me with ‘you need this and this and you need to do this and that...’ I was ‘whoa dude, I just want to build BASIC, clean kits until I’m comfortable!’ My advice to beginners is to start basic - stick with what you’re comfortable, and you’ll know when you’re ready to move to the next level... by then, you’ll have almost all the supplies and tools you’ll need, and you’ll understand how all the washes, filters and whatnot interact to enhance your builds and your satisfaction! #1 - have fun!

My father used to relax after work by building the WW1 & 2 fighting vehicles (tanks etc) he got to the stage of building his own versions of the tanks/trucks that existed in real life but not in kit form, he would take the kit that had the basic cab, chassis etc (Airfix RAF Refuelling kit was a big favourite) and either take the other bits from other kits or fabricate the required parts from sheet plastic, when he died I inherited a few hundred standard kits and just as many that he had produced as really excellent one-offs. I have little interest in them so they are carefully boxed in the loft.
Actually, is a rebox of the ICM He-111 H-6...a lot of last "new releases" of revell are reboxing of another kits of other brands and I think that's bad, because the price of revell is to high for a kit that they don't design and produce.
Mauricio CS They price of the rebox is usually significantly lower than the original kit. Look at the price of the ICM King Tiger and then the Revell rebox. It’s around a $15 difference

Don't sell yourself short. It just take some knowledge of technique (which this video provides) and some patience. Don't force anything, and most importantly remember that every mistake is fixable. Except maybe cracking a clear part. But everything else is.

I wish my builds went together this smoothly. I'll issue you a challenge from a broke hobbyist, try doing one without the airbrush. It's amazing how much you learn doing it!
August 4, 2020---Actually, you can get GOOD airbrushes (used) pretty cheap via Ebay. Got a double action Paashe that was basically brand new for $30, including shipping. Later on, when my compressor died, Ebay was there again for me. Got a combo set of single & double action airbrushes AND a compressor for $75, again this included shipping. Nephew was looking at the same set on Amazon, but the seller wanted $125?! You can guess where he bought his.
@@GrosserHund87 unless it's a 1 color paint scheme, I think that nearly everyone can see the difference beetwen airbrushed and paint brushed paint job :)
Yeah, that’s a piece of art there, such a beautiful finish. I use to use the swastika transfers and stick them round the house and drove my dad mad as he ex RAF 😂

I'm not a fan of the He.111, but I do recognize the historic role she played in WWII. Watching your video has inspired me to go out and buy this kit (Revell is OOP, but ICM still produces them). I love this paint scheme, the desert yellow, contrasted with the black and RLM green, red spinner tips. It all just comes together. Thanks for sharing your inspirational work.

yes, but really the He 111 was designed in 1930 (befor the WW2) as a fast civil Plane for 2 Crew-Members and 10 Passengers (i think).
