So happy to have found your videos. I'm 5 weeks in after a motorbike accident resulting in a non-displaced fully broken proximal humerus on my left arm (along with other injuries including a bad left leg). The gap in info between what hospital/doctors/physios give during brief appointments and what practical tips are needed is huge (and a bit scary). I've watched ahead through your videos to understand how things could progress - and it's really motivating to see a realistic path ahead that I can look forward to! Each week when I start a new video it's quite challenging, but by the end of a week or two I can confidently do the exercises - the best tangible measure of progress I've found and great motivation. My physio also thanks you :) Thank you for helping me to get moving again with such positivity.
Thank you so much for your soothing and encouraging videos! I wish that I had found them earlier, but am starting in where I am and looking forward to progressing through them to healing. I am beginning Week 5 of a non displaced proximal humerus fracture. This happened the day after I was released from my orthopedic doctor from a fractured clavicle. Prior to that I had fallen and fractured bones in the left foot. It's been a challenging 7 months, but I am continually amazed at the healing properties that were placed in our bodies! Your videos will be a decided plus in the process! Again, thank you, and sending encouragement to fellow 'works in progress'!
What a journey, Debi! I think i'm going to do a series on improving balance just for you to do so that you never fall again. You are becoming quite the overcomer and know that you are getting better every day. Thanks for telling your story.
I broke my bone five weeks ago after two week my doctor was very happy at how well I was healing, he has me extending my arm straight out and straight up, this is getting easier. Now I am 68 a widow, live alone, everyone says I am doing great, I feel I could do more. I listen for I want to be me again. My hardest things are washing my opposite shoulder, washing my hands, wiping off my countertop, tabletop. These are pain full, I do till it gives me pain, then stop.
Hi Adam! Scandinavian here, I am so grateful I found your videos and that thanks to the internet I can have my own personal trainer in my living room! I'm in week five and I've been doing the exercises every day since the last two weeks, when you appeared in my feed. I'm looking forward to the sessions every day. You have a very soothing voice and your instructions are the perfect balance between nudging and caring.
Finding your videos is a God send I feel so much better when I watch your videos they give me motivation to do this, because I was just moping around feeling sad. Your voice alone uplifts my spirit thank you. 💐
Thank you Dr. Fields! I am in week 4 after proximal humerus fracture and am getting so much out of your videos. Your guidance is not only helping my body heal, you are helping me mentally embrace the journey and improve my overall well being. Most sincere Thank you! Deb
Thank you Dr.Fields for helping me stay mobile. I am week 7 post fracture/displaced shoulder injury. It has been really challenging as I caught a nasty flu just about week 5.5 so I was not able to go to my PT. You saved the day!! I love this passive video on my stiff sore achy mornings and I am exploring the next video selectively. I am an older female but determined to heal. TY so much for the inspiration
You are precious and so is that shoulder. Keep up your wonderful journey back to full strength. If you hit a plateau, find someone that will do some ESWT on it. Take care
I am so thankful I found your videos. I am at 4 1/2 weeks into this and appreciate not only the movement but the education and positivity. Thank you, Dr Fields
Hi. Im now week 7. Youre videos have been amazing, inspirational, thereupeutic and technical. You reasure and encourage and I thank you from the botom of my heart for being part of my journey to recovery thus far. X rays at first weekly are now monthly, Physio each second week. I can access your videos and have you talk me through your programes any part of my day and you always cheer me up.
Hi Dr Fields,i am at week 11 after my non displaced humerus fracture and still finding it hard to move on from your week 5-6 video. Afraid of not being able to regain all the range of motion i had before.. I am 53 y/o. Thank's for the really excellent videos by the way. Wouldn't know what to do if it was not for your videos !! I go to rehab two times a week and do your videos daily.
Hello Dr Fileds, Hope you are well. Very good sequence, pretty engaging for the pectoral and triceps but helps a lot the self-massage at the end. I think the pain of the muscles is normal as they were resting for a bit. Kind regards from London UK! Annamaria
Thank You Dr. Fields! Week 7 after proximal humerus fracture (non-displaced) and I found your rehab videos. The improved mobility I have experienced in just 2 days doing phase III in the morning and Phase IV in the evening is miraculous! I have set my alarm on my phone to do these at least twice a day! I could even pour my coffee with my injured arm this morning!!!! Thank You!, Thank You! Thank You!
I'm scared I won't heal as I'm in stage 4 renal failure. My progress has been slow and painful and I'm not getting much help. I'm concerned I will never be able to lift my left arm independently even though it's a clean fracture. I can't drive or look after my dog properly.
Hi. You are very kind and helpful . I like your style , but everyone is so young. I mean that is good for everyone , but I am 71 years young , so how is an older lady go about healing safely . I had t7 thru my sacrum fused unsuccessfully before the fall due to scoliosis , so not only am I old I am compromised. EEEKKK , How to heal? I am sure I won’t hear from you , as I think I scare everyone.
I found these videos on week 2 of my non displaced proximal humerus fracture and within a couple of days of doing the exercises I noticed significant improvement. I am now on weeks 4-5 videos. Do I still do the first 4 weeks exercises as well as weeks 4-5 every day?Thank you so much for doing these, they are so helpful and your voice is very calming.
Thanks for your kind words. If you are in weeks 4-5 then do that plus one of the previous videos/day. Probably just the previous series. When you get beyond week 6 you can start doing some of the stretching and massage gun videos. I will be mentioning them in the upcoming videos. Way to go!
I know it's exciting to move on but I would continue with the first 2 videos and progress to this video at week 4. My one exception would be if you asked your health care provider by sending them the link and having them approve. You have a journey ahead. Let's make sure it is only forward progression. Take care
So I got my fracture January 2nd, wasn't bad enough for surgery. I was supposed to make a therapy appointment last week but I neglected to do it. I also stopped wearing my sling around mid-week three. Was that a mistake? I'm 34 years old and in good health. I still have pretty limited mobility. Is it too late to start therapy? Will I suffer long term for waiting to long?
I'm broke my hunerus in 3 places in April 3 I still can't raise my arm or behind my back that after physical therapy will I ever get it back or should I get another opinion another doctor he says there's nothing else I can do ?
Branch into my Yin Yoga for Shoulders video and find someone that does ESWT on the shoulder. You're going to have to work hard but where you are right now is not where you have to live
Dear Mr. Fields, I am a physician from Brazil and have been following your videos. I had a proximal humerus fracture and I found your guidance AWSOME, to say the least. Keep up the good work. It's problably helping thousands of people out there, as it's helping myself. All theese words just to say: THANK YOU!
I found your channel today and I love it. I'm an occupational therapist and I do a lot of shoulder rehab. I love the sound of your voice and your explanations are simple.I also love your holistic approach.
Hi Adam, I had a full resection and cadaver replacement of my left humerus due to bone cancer 5 weeks ago.I’m excited to start PT. Would you say these exercises are relevant to my recovery?
You are really going through quite a hurdle. It will be an honor to go through this with you. Just get an "okay" from your doctor to do rehab at this time.
Beginning week 5 of a non displaced proximal humerus fracture, these exercises have been so helpful, thank you. I hope you realise what a good thing you’re putting out into the universe 😊
Hi Adam, big thanks from the Netherlands! I am now in week 4 after proximal humerus fracture non-displaced and your videos are awesome and super helpful ! It’s like having a personal trainer and doing the exercises “together” makes you persevere! 😅
My mother recently had a nasty fall and broke the humerus bone. She was looking for an alternative to her local pt appointments. What an absolute blessing to find your channel and these videos ❤
Thank you! I stayed in the previous level as dictated by my healing process, but this will be great for where I’m at now. Again, your positive words boost my spirit and are a healing balm 🙏💫
I imagine, at this point, you have had x-ray confirmation that the fracture is healed. If you haven't, go get one to give you some peace of mind. You need mobility and the courage to go into that. Otherwise, you could get frozen shoulder. Keep bravely moving forward
@@dradamfields The final x-ray is in a week. Healing confirmation from a doctor with fresh x-rays will give me the courage needed. Finding your channel has certainly helped me. It has never been about the pain as much as worrying about hindering the healing process. Thank very much you for the response.
I am in week 4 now and have been following your videos every day since my accident. I am so thankful that I have this encouragement while going through this.
Coming up to 4 weeks post injury and getting stronger everyday. I'm definitely a happy soul watching these videos and doing the exercises. The physio last week told me I'm 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule for recovery from this type of fracture 🙂 and consultant informed me from the x-rays that the bones are healing very well. I'm already back on the turbo trainer and hopefully within next 4 weeks I will be back on the bike on the road. Full of gratitude for this wonderful resource and think soon I'll be ready to move onto Weeks 5-6 video.

I have a proximal humerus non displaced fracture on 5 November but am working at your level 3, week 4 to 5, just taking it steady as l’m an older person, 63 F and have other conditions that hold me back a bit. I am definitely gaining more movement and less stiffness and pain each day because of these excellent exercises and shall move up to the next phase in the next few days. You are only counting the numbers 3 2 1 and not showing the movement in your bad arm. It is not helpful at all.
They are isometric exercises
Just contract the muscles
