I would start at the banjo end of the hose to make sure it dosen't have to be twisted for a perfect fit. The other end of the hose can be rotated before you "torque" it down and that way the hose won't be twisted. Agree?
Yes, I do agree. I would also heat up the copper washers over a flame till they’re red hot, then dip them in cold water before fitting. They will seal better.
A quick tip about brake fluid if you push the brake pedal to the floor that will push the rod inside the master cylinder and this will stop brake fluid from coming out of the hose, hold the brake pedal down with a stick or long rod.
Soapy water in a spray bottle works very well for cleaning brake fluid, plus you can clean those sweet red painted calipers in the process with a rag. Avoid spraying while banjo bolts are removed.
Thanks for doing these break videos I've been wanting to do this to my car for a while and didn't know what I wanted to do. This helps a lot! I hope you're doing well Milan also!
Thx! quick question, im not a fan of when fully steering in or out the braided lines has a decent tight corner to make right out of the fixed part comming out from the caliper side, are they made to withstand that?
Pretty good video man, thanks for making it. It's helped me a lot. One point though, brake fluid is nasty and you shouldn't be getting it all over your hands, or (as you mentioned) any painted surface.
I just installed the ss lines on my 07 Speed 6 and man were the rear a pain in the ass. We ended up applying a lot of heat before we were finally able to break the connection.
Hello milan, I installed the steel braided hoses to my Honda Pilot, i had one issue, and maybe this one was defective. How much thread when screwing the brake hose to the brake line should be showing? I had about half of the threads not wanting to go in? I did not tork it just to be on the caution side. I unscrewed then out, then back in, still stayed about halfway out. So what should i do? is that normal, or I just purchased a defective line?
After loosening my brake line nut to let fluid out because the actual bleed valve is stuck from rust i guess, and i cant loosen it now it is leaking where the crush washer is whats going on should i get a new washer?
You can get a torque wrench in there, they're called "crow's feet", and they work just fine. Also if your worried about rust so much, maybe put a rust inhibitor like permatex or loctite anti-seize.
None of which you have mentioned should ever be used on brake fittings, threads or any other hydraulic connections! And this is just one more reason why shops charge $120 per hour for labor!
@@NeverEnoughPyro40 Hey there, I’m not questioning your experience as I’m just a diy’er but why would the crows foot type adapter not be suited for torquing the brake line? (also what other tool would be better to torque it with?) Thanks
Awesome vids. But I’m curious. You said brake fluid would be coming out once you removed the lines to replace with the steel braided ones, but I barely saw anything coming out… did you have your master cylinder empty before doing this project?

So my question is can you just change out oe stock hoses to stoptech ones and not have to mess with bleeding the brake lines? Cuz I just want to change the lines to save on labor from a dealership and then take it to them to bleed the brakes! So yeah buddy lmk if your car is an is300 cuz it looks it and if u just can achieve this job without bleeding brakes and just take it to a shop after 2 cut corners to have a shop bleed the brakes lines and do a brake flush which I believe is the one in the same thing I think 🤔 yeah lmk I also did your valve job on my valves from an 08 oddessy j35 engine to clean and polish the valves best video you have on the web bro it works and no other videos compare! Only thing with stainless is they have to be checked regularly and any leaks are hard to find. Im lucky to have the Boss 302 option from Ford Performance, they are a good compromise between stock and stainless steel...also comes with complete OEM hardware and superior copper washers. Since it is OEM the fit is perfect.

They're holding up great. Keep in mind when you get your brakes hot, you are in essence 'baking' them as you're getting them up to high temperatures and it will further cure the paint. My brakes look great and the sticker as well is holding up strong
Hey Milan or anyone that can help me out I found 4 big brake calipers only. if I buy these calipers can they work on a mazda 2015 3. Are big brake calipers only no rotor or pads Universal?
What you're talking about are brake HOSES - not brake lines. Brake lines are made of C-Mn steel tube when new and usually of Cu-Ni alloy when repaired. SS hoses might be an idea for rich boy cars.
