@@abryant78 You don’t have OBD2. You’ll have to contact him and see but I don’t think you can use the same tuner in the video. That device requires OBD2.

I had a 96 with a mustang gt tune on it after the computer was replaced after 12000 miles. The car was a blast to drive. The car was crazy off the line when it was wet out. If it wouldn't have been for the frame rusting out around the rack and pinion and bending a lot of parts I would still be driving it today.
Thats why i sold my 99 Gt cos its a unibody no frame and the grand marquis and crown Victoria have a full frame 1000 times better

Yes, it actually scared me because it revved up over 6k and was pulling the whole way, chirped 2nd for the first time ever. His tunes include a trans tune too. I chose 8 on the firmness scale. I'm lugging like 1200 pounds of gear so I needed something to give this old girl some life back.

Marty does a good job on tuning the engine. Biggest compaint I have on his tunes is his transmission adjustments. Shift points are held WAY too long. My car would be well passed red line before it would shift into 3rd. And the stiffness of the shifts is neck breaking. Tune on engine was nice and woke the car up, but had to do some customizing on his tune file to adjust the shift points and stiffness to make the car perform nicer and make it more driveable.
Were you able to make all of these changes yourself on the device? Or did he have to do it?
So if what he sends you the shifts are too firm and the wide open throttle takes too long to shift you can change these things yourself on the device?
@@LaffyGaffy69 you have to contact him with the issues and he will reconfigure the program for your tune and send you a new tune file to upload to your car. If you know how to tune cars you can do this yourself, but you have to know how to reprogram and tune vehicles which would basically mean that you wouldn't have needed him to do it for you in the first place.
Hey Mr. Random! Going to look at an 08 CVPI on Saturday! The interior has been gutted and the guy says it needs new rear bearings (which I’m pretty sure I can do myself) and it needs a lot of exterior cosmetic work. But, supposedly the engine is strong, the transmission is good, and the AC is cold. And it only has 109 K miles. Plus, the guys only asking 1200, and I’m hoping I can pick it up for eight or nine. Wish me luck! Also appreciate any advice on other things I should be looking for when I go to check it out.

I have a datalog tune from him, I have PI heads on NPI bottom end, MHS stage 2 cams, 2800 stall converter, 04 police air box and zip tube, 3.90 gear. I'll have to get another video of it.
i was gonna go with 3.90 gear but 4.10 was cheaper..lol Have you timed your exact 0-60mph?? My all stock 09 P71 has done a best of 8.4 seconds..
@@P71ScrewHead I'd have to do some math to figure out exactly what 60MPH is because my 98 uses a speedo gear and you can't adjust the speedo with a tune. Closest gear is the 23 tooth black gear which is for 3.73s, that's what I'm running.
Looks like it would be 62.73MPH on my speedometer.

What year was that car with the 7.4 0-60 my stock f150 did that with 93 no tune 😬 and it was a 01 with 220000 miles did the 0-60 with a GPS device I was thinking about getting a vic but I might just keep the truck or do I just got a factory freak on my hands 😅

I lost soo much bottom end power doing this to my exhaust..Even thought I have the custom 93 oct. Marty tune for my car..I have the side out exh just before the rear tires and no cats..Sunday I`m having some Flow Masters and tail pipes put back on.. It sounds awesome,but performance is really affected(For my car). After going back and forth with Marty we decided that there`s just not enough back pressure.. Other`s may not notice or mind the loss in bottom end power/torque..
Yeah unless you start doing some serious engine work deleted cats and mufflers are just louder. The Marty tune is actual Dyno proven. That part about the k&n and muffler delete are butt Dyno proven haha.

Well I spent 4 hours with an old buddy of mine(70 years old) retired exh shop owner,putting my exh. out the back to the rear bumper.It sounds and RUNS so much better now. Do what you want,but my car ran like shit with little to no back pressure

How do I order them Marty tune?
I really want to do this but I cannot justify it. I want a manual transmission so bad and the cheapest I can figure on doing it is gonna run me between $3k and $4k. It is gonna be much easier for me to just trade my Mercury for a Mustang or sell it and buy a Mustang. Looks and sounds like a lot of fun though. I DEFINITELY 2nd the muffler delete and drop in K&N air filter.👍🏻
Problem with mustang is there nose heavy and crown vic and grand marquis are 50/50 and will handle better than a mustang

@Sov92 I imagine it is if you have the money to spend on it. I don't have it and for most people it isn't practical at all. It is much wiser to invest your money in a newer sportier sedan. The panther cars are a diamond in the rough for poor people. Not people who have money to waste.

Bought a mint 08 vic pi for 650 bucks couldnt be happier with it. Was considering a marty tune but does it lose the cruise ability? Idk how id feel about firm shifts and all that, plus i have 2 mustangs for having fun in

I have a 2010 P71 Vic 110k miles 7k idle hours. Have muffler delete K&N drop filter did 7 on shiftiness and 87 tune. Don’t abuse my rides only drive 10 miles 5 days a week hoping this tune doesn’t fuck up my trans.

I bought moser 31splines a Detroit truetrac Front and rear sway bars, 2 widened rims a metco driveshaft loop, arp watts link stud and ford performance 8.8 diff master rebuild kit. Hawk brake pads too. That doesn’t add up to $5000 but $800 shipping to border then more shipping to my place. 1 US dollar

So I have a 2010 Crown Vic and I want to put some aftermarket parts on it, like a throttle body spacer but I can only find ones meant to fit a early 2000s mustang 4.6l nothing specific to the Vic is there any difference
Try a ford expedition spacer. i heard it fits a Crown Victoria

A throttle body spacer will do NOTHING to improve the performance in your Crown Vic. Actually the opposite.

For me? I drive about 80 miles a day in my 03 LX civvie, so I'm not giving up my 30 mpg highway. I probably wouldn't get the same results with my 2:73 gears anyway.

It is on the sticker located on the ECM... Just take a picture of that sticker and send it to Marty, he'll find it immediately.
Alright someone school me... if i decided too get a 93 tune what injectors would i need , what fuel filter should i use ? Is a 89 tune worth it ?
If you are getting a "Marty tune", the tuner device that he sends you will have 3 sperate tune files for you to choose from. 87,89,93.... essentially the timing settings and some fuel ratios are adjusted on the tune files from each. Octane rating on fuel is a number that tells how combustable a fuel is. The higher the number the slower it takes to ignite, so if running a higher octane you want the timing adjusted to match or likewise for lower octane. Typically engines with tighter tolerances, higher compression ratings, etc. are run with higher octane tunes and run best on higher octane fuels as you can maximize the potential of each power stroke of the engine running. Running a fuel with different octane versus how the engine and tune is set up on a vehicle will cause it to not perform as well as it could (in either way). Running higher octane gas is not going to give you more horsepower if motor is not setup and tuned for it. Also running lower octane isn't going to rob horsepower if motor is setup and tuned to run lower octane. For something like a stock 4.6 liter engine in a Crown Victoria, injectors are not anything to really worry about changing out from stock. Now, having them new, functioning properly, and clean would be important but changing their size to increase fuel flow, etc. is not something really that will improve much on any tune on these stock engines in a car that you are going to be running around on the street. Stick with stock size injectors. As for the "Marty" tunes, you can easily switch from one tune to another of the three or take the tune file out and have it back to the stock tune as well. When you use the tuner device you will save a copy of the vehicles stock "factory" tune that is currently on the vehicle. You then install the computer file for the new tune of your choice on the car. Go drive and try it out, if you don't like it or want to try another tune, you go through the process and uninstall the current tune file that you have on it and install the tune that you want to try next or reinstall the original factory tune file that you saved on the device in the beginning. That is all there is to it. The particular device that Marty uses (as shown in the video) can be purchased on its own and can be gotten for your particular vehicle as well (Crown Victoria or what not) and comes from SCT with tunes from them as well that are close to what Marty offers as well. (less expensive, as Marty sells you the SCT device and then sells you his tune files) You can also customize the tunes themselves with the SCT device (obviously works better if you know what you are doing and have vehicle on a dyno to watch performance differences as you make adjustments). The tunes definitely will wake up the old 4.6 and makes the car more fun to drive. Crown Vics were NEVER a car that could really get out of its own way, by installing a different tune on them, they do actually scoot and have a little life in them. (No the tune will NOT make it the fastest thing on the road, they are still heavy and old and under powered but they do get some more ponies running)

Question, I have an 04 Grand Marquis and it allows me to disable the over drive (its a button on the gear select), will the marty tune let me still disable the OD to get a little better gas mileage in town? I would definately go for the 87 oct. tune.

First off, the tune doesn't affect operation of any other objects on the vehicle, so yes your switch to disable the OD will still function as it would without the tune. The tune adjusts engine timing, air/fuel ratios, transmission shift positions, transmission shift stiffness, etc. Secondly, turning off the OD while driving in town is not giving you better gas mileage. If you are worried about gas mileage, a Marty tune is not for you. Your gas mileage will decrease as that is not what the point of the tune is. The tune is to increase horsepower and performance which uses fuel to do that.

only works for one type of car
Product is designed to only work on 1 car at a time. It retreives and saves initial vehicle tune data and specs and then uploads other tune files. If you use on another vehicle, you have to clear the saved data (wipe device memory) and start over on another vehicle which then will not work on first vehicle any longer if needed to reboot or reinstall stock tune, etc. You can use it on other vehicles but it is best not to. The tune files loaded on device from Marty are specific to a specific type of vehicle.
After a couple thousand miles on my Marty tune the car and I couldn't be happier...Marty makes fat girls fly.

My 2011 Crown weighed 5400lbs with all the police equipment did 9 secs . Police Package Crown Victoria does 7.5sec without the police equipment. If you want to go faster take out the cage 🤷♂️

As for 0-60, after installing 4:10's, 7.2 seconds before the tune. At least that's what a phone app said... After the tune, I'm guessing mid sixes. I'm only guessing because, prior to the tune, I, had a weak fuel pump and a wiring issue, later identified when Marty, himself, did a data- link with my car. However, even with a bad pump, 264,000 kms, and a wiring problem, it left a newer firebird from a light. I swear by this tune. It's worth every penny!
