The crown Victoria is very common here in Saudi Arabia and still one of the most loved cars here
Steve i own a crown vic and i live in jeddah lol
Yup , i live in riyadh and i can confirm
that's true 😂
Interesting
Steve very true lol, I’m from Saudi and I owned 4 of them (including the p71), my cousin owned like 9 of them including the marquis and the town car, crown vics are such a reliable car
I bought a 2011 crown vic for 2k with less than 90k miles and I love it. Big car is so nice compared to my tiny Honda Civic. And the trunk space is amazing for transporting all the hooker corpses
Three Tree *He is 911*
Haha, I hear that. Sounds like you got a better deal than me though. I got my 2011 back 3 years ago for 15K when it had 35K on it. LAPD didn't want it anymore because the heater didn't work. I guess they just didn't want the car, since a $200 part later and everything was functional.
That took a ..... turn
What the fuck
I Love This Comment
I actually scared myself with my own Vic one time. I bought a Mercury Grand Marquis from a used car lot in the middle of nowhere, so on the way home I decided to test it out on the old country road and see what it can do. I looked up in my rearview mirror and had a mini heart attack when I saw a white Crown Victoria. It was in that moment that I realized I was a dumbass, because my friend was following me back from the lot in my p71. I still feel like an idiot three years later.
dude got scared by his own p71 lol 😂 😂 =]
Yess, I was hoping someone would mention the grand Marquis. I grew up with that car.
I was scared from seeing my p71 in front of the house for about a week lol.. I'd come outside like oh yeah that's me
Haha I genuinely loled hah

lol like seriously, imagine pulling someone over just to take someone's car for a spin 😂 great cop

And the funny thing is the car it pulled over is the GRAND MARQUIS.

Yup i agree, but the Dodge Charger is more intimidating, there's a lot of them in my country and each time i see one (exept the Hellcat) i crap myself i just hate to be pulled over, but i'll be fine because i don't drive like an asshole.
hector sepulveda I’ve spoke to a lot of cops and they say the charger is so much faster but not as reliable and to many blind spots. So most cops where I’m from like the crown Vic better.
Hank Hill true, Crown Vics are being replaced by Ford Explorers and other SUVs. All the old timer coppers still love em and always go for them when available.
@@guyshepard9658 I would buy a decomisioned Crown Vic Police Interceptor, put a P.A. and fake antenas to make it look like a cop car and scare the shit out of my friends. While i get the money get a 4.6 4V to supercharge it and technically.make it a Cobra terminator swap.
@@h.a.4600 I have a 2004 CVPI, and it's phenomenal. Even without exterior attachments and stuff, people still slow down in fear. It's awesome!
You skipped out on why cops miss the Crown Vic so much. It's the seats. No new car comes with seats as comfy as the Crown Vic. Especially in leather, the car is a very comfortable road tripper
I remember when my parents and I went on vacation with our Crown Vic and we had to stop at every second motel just to not fall asleep 🤣🤣
I WANT IT BACK!!!
Yes they are comfy, but here in the Midwest, rear wheel drive sucks in the snow since there isn't any weight holding the drive tires down
@@benpamperin1074 you can carry heavy stuff in the trunk like bags of kitty litter, etc. This is great for added traction.
Agree
Yes, they are indeed comfortable if it is the soft kind. My 1989 LX has the stuff sofas use, and on the highway, it's a living room on wheels.
But my main purposes for it is V8 power, durability, and "cop image".
I owned a 2002 marquis with dark tinted windows. No one would ever cut me off or pass me on the highway. When I was bored I would speed up and get behind people who drove like asses just to see them quickly slow down and move to the right lane. I also had numerous occasions when cops passed by and nodded at me thinking I was driving an unmarked cop car. I also had people standing on sidewalks give me the finger thinking I was a cop or a cab that refused to pick them up. I lost count of how many kids at my college would quickly throw on their seat belts when I drove by. The fact that the panther body is ingrained in people's psyche as a cop car gave me the most unique driving experience of any car I ever owned.... at least until one of the wheels literally broke off the car in a parking lot and I junked it.
Sad ending :(
Now that’s driving it til the wheels fall off
Sounds like a part of you man
What a lazy prick at the last part lol

Little did Ford know that in the years following 2011 (after they discontinued the CVPI) men in their 20's-30's would still be drooling over the Crown Vic, like myself, a lad from the UK who wishes he was privileged enough to be an American and owned one of these V8 beasts!
They are the staple of American engineering, fast, loud, mean, muscle and those who are supporters of law enforcement love the CVPI even more, it is an iconic vehicle that will forever be engrained into the history of America.

Nobody can look at a crown vic as a civilian car. Crown Vic’s are either seen as *cabs* or *Cops*
Raymond Jameson My dude besides the underbody shit, only difference betweeb civilian and police cars was a grille, a spotlight, some door trim, and the decklid and tailights. Besides those three things, they're the same on the outside.
Yeah, just try look the rear passenger doors. If it's normal, either cabs or civilians. If it's short, it's Police.

I've driven pretty much anything you see on the road today from a humble prius to some ludicrous sports cars like a twin turbo v8 amg or a 700hp GTR, mercedes C glass, GLE, GLS, some beemers, trucks, old diesle, stangs and all that goodie. And I can tell you that my favorite car is my crown vic. The fan boy element plays a part but I just love how it looks and handles. Some people say its like a boat and clumsy, which is true compared to all the tight germany cars out there today, but personally I love the feel of driving. It's heavy so slow acceleration and lots of weight shift in cornering, but also very, very stable on high ways. I brought the thing to, well I'll let you guess, and she does not budge at all. I like how she tilts in corners, the live axle and watt linkage is pretty outdated compared to cars with independent suspension and fancy sensors, but along with the heavy frame it's a soft, pampering car ride that I just can't get enough. I do all the work my self sans inspection, clean her twice a week and there were only a handful of people who touched the steering wheel, besides me. This is what cars looked like in my dictionary. 60 miles commute daily and couple trips to other states, got her for less than a month and already put 3000 miles on her, never had a hicup. Turns right on, engine idles buttery smooth like the first day she rolled off the line. Probably due to it being a postal security service vehicle, instead of a K-9 or a responder which probably been driven much harder. I just can't get enough of it.
BTW I am 23 years old. And fuck yes I want a grand Marquis. I would guess that when people like me die that's probably when these cars will truly start to disappear from the road. But as for now, I don't know about the other ones, but mine's still running strong. I'm giving her a lot of love and care, got under the chassis and undercoat everything I see(well not the tires and shocks of course), hand clean engine bay, pull all the carpets off to de-rust the floor(the left driver side was actually pretty bad), 91 and above only, tore apart doors to re do wiring and seals. If she needs a trans or engine rebuild in the future I will do that as well, as for now the tranny and engine feels like a new car. Educating myself a bit everyday about the car to make sure I have enough knowledge if it ever comes to it.
My previous car is a v6 mustang, not a very responsible driver back then, constantly flipping people off and swirving lanes because I thought it's cool. The crown vic also made me a more responsible and better driver, not only because I care about the car so much, but also because the responsibility once belonged to the car somehow got into me as well. Still give out some fingers occasionaly to those unfixable ass holes but overall much better driver. Oh boy there were a lot of responsibilies on these vics, now she knocked some into me. Good stuff.

Just a bit disappointed at how GL are missing out certain accuracies on some of their more recent 1/64 Crown Vics though (no door trims on the Detroit PD and Orlando PD models while the real examples clearly have them and the FPS (HomeLand Security) example has a 1970s lightbar...)

I would imagine a video about Crown Vics should have mentioned that the old ones came with the same 5.0 engine from the Mustang GT and was also offered as a wagon. Also the name "Police Interceptor" which is quite a staple on Crown Vics was never mentioned, specially since Police Interceptor (or P71) are quite beefier and have tons of upgrades compared to regular Crown Vics. Also failed to mention that the Marauders came with the Cobra's DOHC engine, which is quite worth mentioning instead of just saying "redesigned intake".
Paco Ibarra / Tofu Drift Van Paco droppin' knowledge.
Hai Paco!
THANK YOU! I mean everyone knows the crown vic as a police car, yet the video went in to LITERALLY no detail about the police interceptor.
In 1981 you could get a 400 in the wagon...
Not Cobra but Mach 1, it was the aluminum block naturally aspirated DOHC 4.6L that the 2003 - 2004 Mach 1's had (sadly the cast 6 bolt crank instead of the forged 8 bolt though.)
The 2003 - 2004 Cobra engine was a much more stout beast sporting a cast iron block and forged internals.
Paco Ibarra / Tofu Drift Van also, dont forget the taxi
Its funny that AFTER the crown vic is discontinued that now 18-30 year olds want them mostly the interceptor and the crown vic gets this massive internent cult following.
I think ford really missed out not making a ford badged performance version other than the interceptor. Mercury marauder is badass but the problem with mercury is it will always be seen as an old person car brand
They did have a performance vehicle. A company called Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) in Australia made the FPV F6 Typhoon and GT R-Spec and normal Ford Falcons with Barra engines.
Just seems like Ford didn't like its Australian subsidiary making a better car and wouldn't export them. Full sized family sedans that could easily compete with Mustangs, Hellcats etc. Even GM killed of the Holden Commodore (Chevy SS).... What's with the salty American car companies nowadays

its too bad we didnt get the modern falcon in N america though. The main reason that Crown Vics were favored for fleet use was the modular design of the power train, which was possible by the panther platform. In this way, fleet units could be driven a couple million miles by allowing easy removal, rebuilding, and replacement of the power train components as needed.
The word modular doesn't mean what you think it means. The "modular" power trains were modular in the sense that ford didn't have to retool their factories every time they wanted to do something different. it was a manufacturing term more than anything

I’m 19 and I would love a mercury marauder (my first car was a 1993 Grand Marquis LS)
Drew my current car would smoke a maurader, I just would want one because they’re cool
26, and I have a 1989 LTD Crown Victoria LX.
I AM a Chevy fan by heart, but I had a 1994 Crown Vic. in 1998 and I loved this car! I got it up to 130 mph on the interstate.
*Donut* I love ya but you missed the mark on the Mercury Marauder. It made that extra power NOT because of an intake upgrade the 4.6L SOHC received but because IT WAS A FRIGGIN MACH 1 DOHC 32V ENGINE!
THATS RIGHT, Nolan would be drivin a Sleeper Mach 1 drinkin his milk! ~chewbacca and 32v sounds~
This all aluminum 32 valve DOHC 4.6L was the same exact 4.6L found in the 2003 - 2004 Mach 1 equipped with an Automatic transmission (Because it was a 6 bolt crank :'( ) BUT Don't let this distract you from the fact that Hector could turn it into a BEAST!
CrainRacing my best friend has a marauder and it’s sooo nice
I had to scroll too far to see this correction.
And another way to put it since not too many folks even recall the Mach 1 had a special 4v motor is that it's basically a terminator motor minus the supercharger.
you are so right and i love it because i own a 2003 Mercury Marauder. it's a 300 AB because is was in between years and has features from both years. there were budget cuts unfortunately. the concept Marauder had a twin screw and was a two door convertible. the 03 and 04 production models are equipped with the 5th gen Cobra DOHC (32 valve) V8 from the super rare cobra R was droped into the Marauder, it is ridiculously power choked from a crap chip that also controls the shift points. an exhaust manifold with one i believe 1-1/2" maybe 2" pipe to exhaust the 4 cylinders exhaust ports on each side along with 4 catalytic converters (2 per exhaust pipe) being that it is dual exhaust but with an H pipe cross over. .and lets not even go into the intake box. i switched to CAI first thing. it also came with 28 spline soft axles ( im switching to 31 because i destroyed my spider gears and burnt my 8.8LSD clutch discs and pitted the berrings) but with some modifications thes car becomes a 700+ sleeper. i have performed only a few mods and i smoke everyone i see with a mustang, corvette, porsche, camaro, and sometimes supercars like lamborghinis. only in a straight line though lol id be screwed if i had to race a lamborghini on a circuit track . my MM with vin Mehm******658658 is in the shop for an E locking diff mod but i had it on a dyno a long while ago and its probably around 670rrhp
You could say that they always miss the mark. They messed up on the Cummins video and same with the GT500 video. Donut needs better Google'ers or send me the script to proof read before you upload and confidence as a legit media company will be restored. And to think I know these things naturally without Google.
Was looking for this comment. Thanks Crain.
I had a 98 Crown Vic, LX edition. It was a great car, big, comfortable and actually not bad on gas.
I'm currently on my first car as I'm in college, and it's a 1999 crown vic, with under 70k miles on it, so it's practically new. Such a comfortable car
Outstanding first car for a teenager
I liked his final line "it may be the most American car ever". It's kind of ironic since the crown Vic was, and always has been, built in Ontario Canada
Whaaa, from a Commie' country?
Ontario is America. North America. If you’re looking for the United States, it’s just to the south and that’s North America also.
Ford talbotville was the last place producing the crown Victoria. I was born in st Thomas
Psh, Canada acting like they aren’t a glorified US territory.
Yes it is true that crown vics were built in Canada, but wherever they're built, they're built good.
Maaan this car is selling like hot cakes in Saudi Arabia
I own 2 crown vics myself
alfredo5984 يعني يبي لك محطتين يخوي 😹

A Former Fleet Car found its new home with me in Germany. Love it from the bottom of my heart. Crown Vics are just awesome
Honestly? I love how the crown Vic looks.
And I have a very good taste in cars trust me.
I don't know why, but I trust this guy.
Seems like a trustworthy lad to me
They are trash looking
Source: Dude trust me
That 'To Ever Come Out Of Detroit' bit?
Right over a Detroit PD precinct which had several Caprice PPV's and Crown Vics in there...
My dad has a 1999 grand marquis ls. Old girl still kicks ass
8:52 its actually made in Canada
But Ford is still American brand.
@@LITTLE1994yes and canada is the US but not really😂😂😂
Man, they always be roasting Nolan and it's great lol. That Chewbacca sound made me spit out my drink.
Ford Crown Victoria incomparable....simple, strong, to the point....meant for serious business....no nonsense !!
Those 80s model LTD are just beautiful, great cars
Reaper: “Your time has come. I must take you.”
Crown Vic: “Was I a good cop car.”
Reaper: “No. I was told you were the best cop car.”
I want my first car to be a Crown Vic !
Do what I did just over a month ago. Buy a used P71 that was a detective car, and has less than 150,000mi. I got mine for $2400 out the door. It's my first car and I love it to death. I'm never gonna sell it. If it comes to it, I'll restore it. But it's gonna be mine forever. It was the best $2400 ever spent.
MCA der Negus You are aware the average American car nowadays gets somewhere around 35-45MpG, right?
You wont regret it, trust me ;)
@MCA der Negus Is diesel any cheaper?
@MCA der Negus hey brother, don't listen to that Enlightened Renegade asshole, you are correct my friend, gas is cheap (thank God) and for the most part American engines do get gay gas mileage.. At least now (2010+) American vehicles are making waay more HP n getting much better MPGs while doing so..
Damn i remember how I cried when i saw that video of last Vic leaving the assembly line. Not kidding.
And i am 18
I like how I just found this video the DAY after I got an 07 crown Victoria that was former police car that still has the little spotlight thing also it sounds badass
Chevy suburban has been in production for over 60 years. The true longest running nameplate in American automotive history. Do an episode on that
60? No, it's on since 1935. And its production wasn't halted during the WWII 'cause it was used by the troops.
Yep, the Crown Vic and the Suburban are just about the two best vehicles ever. Guess that's why I have one of each :D
Michael Staake lol me to.
I owned a 93 suburban 2wd, luved it but huge gas hog.
I have owned Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis as cars that are unmatched
what's more American than a crown Vic? Mac&cheese.
Payam yazdi no.... Hamburger Pizzas with apple pie for desert.
School shootings would be my answer.
Payam yazdi , mac & cheese, a Canadian invention (known as Kraft Dinner or KD over there).
Oh, remember the Chevy ad on American likes (there is a Holden version of the ad as well, available on YT, with Australian suitable answers), the one "we love baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet "? There was a survey at that time asking those same questions. "Survey said"... Football, hamburgers, chocolate cake and Dodge. No kidding!
QuakeGamer632 and don't you forget it 🇺🇸🇺🇸
actually mac and cheeseor KD is pretty bug here in Canada. I would say blad eagles and V8's are more american lol
I own a Crown Vic P71 2009 105k
Paid 4000 for a retired Ft Worth PD cruiser.
MAN I LOVE IT.
It was a childhood dream when I grew up in Denmark.
Now I live in TX and own one.
the crown vic was my first car. definitely fell in love with various cars over time but seeing the crown vic fly, i really do miss it.

Actually, disco didn't end until 1985. There were a lot of disco hits in the 1980's lol I love the Crown Vic and they're one of the most reliable cars around.
Where I live Discos still existed up until 2015...
@@yanuchiuchihaanimegamesand3907 Lol You probably live in a different country. I know that after disco ended in the U.S.A in 1985, other countries still kept it going😊.
No way!!!! They did an Up To Speed on a car I actually have.....Well I have a Grand Marquis but it's still the same car. 4.6 V8 baby!!!!
I own a 2008 Crown Vic P71 and it the greatest car I ever owned!!
Resilient hey i plan on buying one probably nexy year. How reliable is it? And does it drink up allot of gas?
Marcos Perez Perez, The P71 is very reliable & durable. I get a decent gas milage. It all depends how hevy your foot is. The parts are super cheap if need to be repaired. I get a Just so you know, be prepared for other drivers to think that your a cop and might start drving super slow in front of you...Before you purchase a P71, check the transmission, other then that its an amazing, Intimidating American icon.
I still see crown Vic police cars til this day, they are such durable cars, same with the impala and caprice
