So jealous of those beautiful California cars. Living across the country in the Salt belt, everything is crusty and rusty here. I’d love to fly over there and buy a clean California Vic and cruise it across the country back home to Buffalo.
I wasnt financial free until my 40’s and I’m still in my 40’s, bought my sixth car already, earn on a monthly through passive income and got 4 out of 5 goals, just hope it encourages someone that it doesn’t matter if you don’t have any of them right now, you can start TODAY regardless your age INVEST and change your future! Really nice work. I like to start with cars more in the $3000 range that don't need paint jobs, then be in the $7500-$12,500 for Crown Vic lovers who really want a nice car. So much, as you say, is just really taking the time to clean well, and fix everything. No stories, no excuses, no it only needs this, nope. Car is perfect, no problems. All fluids and filters changed.
I just bought a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis in like new condition with 47,000 miles on it for $9,000. It doesn't need anything. Looks like it just came off the showroom floor. I bought it off Craigslist from an older couple living in a retirement community. I changed the oil and filter, transmission fluid and filter, along with a new transmission pan with a drain plug, rear axle oil, and coolant. It all looked like new. It had brand new tires and brakes on it. There is a place in Anaheim, CA called Wild Rose Motors that has a lot of completely refurbished low mileage Crown Vic P71s. Their prices are a bit high, but if I wanted one, that's where I'd go. I just prefer the Grand Marquis as a daily driver and for long distance trips.
Owning a Crown Vic has always been a dream of mine - I'm from the UK. They are pretty hard to get here, and the ones you do find are fully kitted out to mimic American police cars for use at shows. Great video, really enjoyed it!
I'm on my second Grand Marquis since 2005. The only reason I sold the first is the second presented itself in 2013 at 40k for $3500. Too good a deal to pass up. I would have bought your Vic in a heartbeat with no squabbling. Luckily my Marquis has only 100k on it and I expect to drive it till I can't drive anymore. These cars are fantastic and well deserve the love they're getting on RUclips.
Smick job! Personally, if it was my car I would have added a chrome grille and chrome rear panel, just to dress it up a little, and I probably would have gone for some factory alloy wheels from the Lincoln, is it? I’m from Aus so don’t know exact models. You’re right about an engine bay clean too, I flipped a few cars and I always cleaned the engine bay and even painted the engine block if it looked crappy.
I watched this with my 10 year old son we wer so impressed we learned a lot !! Love your video and the ending was hilarious 😂 keep the videos coming ! I have new standards on deep cleaning my car out !
That's awesome. I just bought a 1999 for $1200 at an auction. Runs great but it looks kind of rough. Deciding on if i want to restore it to keep it or flip for a bit of profit. this video helps a ton.
You're beginning b-roll was at the Lake County Sheriff's Office in my County! That's so awesome that you were up here. Wish I could have met you and perhaps let you search my patrol car. 🤣
on my 3rd crown vic and 2nd p71....w/o a shadow of a doubt i highly recommend it. even tho i made mine sound like a mustang gt from the 90s by cutting off the h-pipe 2wks after getting it its a great car minus some forks in the road for repairs and typical issues its a 10/10 for me
Excellent refurbished cop car, Rick!. I would definitely buy a good used car from you if I could get my company to Pony up the money so I can have a personal supervisors car.
Really well done video and really nice work on that car, tons of attention to detail. You really don't see a lot of that around especially when someone is trying to make a profit. Kudos to you on that, you really did do a lot of good to this car. My only hope is that you used some sort of rust treatment on that roof and any of the areas with visible surface rust. Just sanding, degreasing, and painting it is not removing or treating the rust in any way to stop it from coming back. Painting over sanded rust while skipping the crucial step of treating it will do nothing but make it look pretty for a very little while. Give it 8 months and that roof will look exactly the same as it did before, especially somewhere with snow and salt. Fingers crossed man.
Very nice! I did basically the same with mine, only with a Marauder theme. I bought a 2007 P71 and a 98 Town Car for $600 at auction. I used pieces from both to make leather seats, used a center console from a 05 Mountaineer, map light/sunglasses holder for a early 2000s Sentra, pieced a grill together from 2005 Grand Marquis and the grill from the vic. I sold the Lincoln for $400 to a derby guy. I bought a Marauder rear spoiler, some cheap mustang rims off Craigslist, ebay brake kit, had the transmission rebuilt, flowmaster exhaust, 4.10 gears from an explorer. I have some fog lights and bezels for a 2005 Dodge Ram I am going to graft into the front bumper. All in, I have about $2500 in it. I should have used better paint the first time. I did a rustoleum paint job. It has been about 5 years and needs paint. I'll spend a few hundred this spring and do a better job. If you have one with a charcoal interior and need to match pieces, Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze is a pretty close match.
Done this a few times with crown vics. Great job! Like you said in the video during the engine wash, I'd recommend covering or removing the alternator first. You won't notice problems at first but I've seen it eat the bearings like nobody's business. Just something to watch for, as replacing the bearings in the alternator SUCKS on these cars.
Awesome, Video Rick its really inspiring. So we not going talk about how Rick has added a Official LVMPD Light Bar on the Vegas Project (14:58) I can't be the only one mind blown about this. 😳
I recently purchased a Ford Crown Vic. I was in the market and a man I know posted one very near my home. It wasn't his but it was his friend. 105,000 Miles. 99 model. Not a police car. I think it is probably a base model judging by the car stereo. Either way it seems to be a really good car. They ride incredibly smooth. The 4.6 V8 has a lot of pickup. Coming over the road truck driver so I will only be driving at about 40 to 50 days a year so fuel economy is not such a big deal to me. I was surprised at the handling.
What a great video! Always enjoy seeing the 'behind the scenes' on things like this. I know the car market is getting difficult right now, the pricing is completely nuts. Are you still finding deals? I know in Florida the government auction cars are selling for big money.
Thanks for watching! Hit that like button! And share this video! Have great weekend !

They are the steel tube frames with a fitted tarp that covers it and they close on both ends.
