    This is a Crown Victoria SAP which means street appearance package, which means its a police intercepter made to look like a civilian Crown Victoria with the chrome grill, cloth seats, and carpet etc

    Nice find Anthony…as others have commented that car has the Street Appearance Package. The FBI, Marshal Service and Prosecutors or Police Admin typically had those…that things a cream puff. It had a full light and radio package in it at one point but it was nicely decommissioned. (That was likely a gun mount under the trunk). When you land on a price I’d love to be a buyer. That car was assigned to Jody Acosta Treasurer of Falls Church VA…google you will see the City’s logo matches the ghost mark that’s on the door.

    Most don’t have the front bench seat. This was a nice P71 for a detective. The patrol ones had bucket seats for the police controls in the middle.

    None of the police cars had chipped keys or PATS. Check the driver side door tag for the code for the rear axle. Z5 code is open diff 3.27 gears, X5 is trac loc diff 3,27 gears, C6 is trac loc 3.55 gears. I bet that one has the 3.55 gears the way you took off with it. The air box under the hood pumps up the horsepower to 250. P71 cars change the VIN in 2010 to P7B. Very nice piece!

    The “box” where the pull out ashtray/cupholder is supposed to be is a console for two way radios and siren, etc. it has what they call blanks on it. When the radio and siren was installed, it would have a custom face plate to fit that style radio.
    The hockey puck on the roof is an antenna, usually for a computer but could be for a radio. And the mirror delete plates were where emergency lights were installed. Ford had mirror molds and then they just covered the hole.
    The passenger floor board was where the computer mount was.
    It was probably used as a police car for an admin type person and recycled to a city official, which is why it wasn’t all pulled apart.
    They are great cars and one used by admin and or a city official is a gem. Should be a solid ride!

    Good fine Anthony. I actually found a 2003 Crown Vic Base model that has 11,540 miles on it. It was garaged kept by original owners and then storaged-kept by 2 dealers. Nice car. Was looking for a Town Car but couldn't pass this one up. .

  • @davidlyons9992
    @davidlyons9992 Месяц назад +2

    CVPIs always came with bucket seats but the Street Appearance Package gave it a Crown Victoria badge instead of police interceptor.
    That car was likely a Detective’s car or a Command vehicle driven by a Lieutenant, Captain, Major or Chief.
    Emergency lights were hidden or low profile because it wasn’t a primary patrol car.
    The mirror lights were removed when they retired it.
    The center console had radios and other equipment that were removed, with the blank solid plates put in to cover the holes.
    Falls Church Police Dept owned it… it has odometer/speedometer calibration so that means it was used for RADAR also.
    Unmarked cars are often used for traffic enforcement here in Virginia.
    VA also has state inspections annually so that ensures it always had good brakes, steering, tires, lights and structural integrity.

    Yes i(t is a P7B, same as a P71. Yes the idle hour display, the dome light is part of the police package, SAP/ supervisor package, probably ballistic/stab proof plates in the back of the front eat backs, the missing trim on the front door, usually both sides would indicate ballistic protection. Treasurer's probably all have consealed carry permits, with the power to arrest if needed training/background. I think it will generate a lot of interest. You are right most are torn up by now. Let me know I maybe interested. I need a daily driver, have had two previous Grand Marquis a 97 and a 03.

    I’ve been a full size Ford guy forever. I own a ‘72 LTD convertible, had two ‘84 Crown Vics, had an ‘03 Interceptor and now daily drive an ‘04 Grand Marquis. And my dad has a ‘99 Grand Marquis. There is something to be said for the way those Interceptors are set up. Mine had the 3.27 rear end with Trak Lok and it was a totally different animal than all the other full size Fords. I used to run studded Goodyear snow tires on it and it was a beast in the winter! I’d really like to get another Interceptor someday. Unfortunately the rust got mine 🫤

I grew up driving the bigger cars that were very comfortable like Chevy Caprices, Impalas and Caprice Classics and I wanted to get a car to run around in as my everyday car so I don't put too many miles on my truck and I've been looking at Lincoln Town cars but my kids say I would look like an old man driving that car! 😏

    Beautiful P71.. it is a police interceptor so it has all the bells and whistles of a bonafide police cruiser such as dual exhaust, trans cooler, power steering cooler, stiff suspension, and all that good stuff. The Street Appearance Package made it look like a civilian model, chrome grill, velour seats and carpeting, and no police interceptor marking on the left rear trunk panel. Yours seems to be in great shape and hardly used or at least used gently.

    The "box" under the radio would've housed radio / siren controller most likely. Those devices would've been removed prior to selling it and the blank plates were probably put in their places. The bracket above the rear view mirror would've likely held a compact light unit. The blank mirror caps are covering the hole where mirror-mounted LED emergency lights likely were installed. All emergency equipment was clearly removed but they tried to properly cover it all up, which isn't always the case.

    This Crown Victoria was most likely a higher-ranking boss's car that got a few extra features, including the nicer cloth interior and the power driver's seat. For whatever reasons, it didn't get all that much usage. Barring something really bad that's found once the vehicle gets the full once-over, there won't be any trouble selling it for a premium.

    Anthony, I wish i had the cash i would so buy that P71 off of you and it would be my daily here in Florida. Per one of my friends whos a Police Officer where i used to live in Michigan those blank plates in the cabin were for the communications radios for the police department. That would have been most likely a Detective Car. Hence the spots on the mirrors for the lights. 2011 was the last year for the crown vic. Honestly i think it was stupid on ford killing off the Crown Vic that honestly was an idiotic move in my book.

    • @jayson657
      @jayson657 Месяц назад +1

      No it doesn’t! A 440 is a 1960’s -70’s Mopar engine. This has the same 4.6L SOHC V8 as all other crown Vic’s except a different cold air intake, dual exhaust and 3.55:1 rear axle instead of the civilian 2.83:1 or 3.27:1 axle. It puts out about 250 hp. Vs. the civilian models with 224 hp. The tall gears is what makes most of the difference.
