So I got the part and installed it. And used the original external mic that came with the radio. It works but the mic needs to be close to your mouth for the other caller to hear you clear. Wondering if changing the external mic will fix it or not
Thanks will try soldering new mic.. i had no passwords that would work according to their manual. Eventually found: 3368 to get into factory but no mic options
Thanks heaps man im having the same issue 9 inch android auto mine has the option to select internal or external mic i selected external but didn't work looks like your way is the the only option i will give it a go and update also there's a way to increase the mic's volume through settings but unsure how to do it and whether it will make any difference
@@LILEVO just an update i connected an external mic successfully and mounted it near the sunvisor it works perfect thanks to you for sharing this video with everyone
@@jameshauptman2045 no originally i connected my mic to the external mic socket on The back of the unit and then selected external mic in settings but it didn't work so i connected the mic wires directly to the internal mic's connection as shown in video and of course i selected internal mic in the settings Hope this helps
I'm going to give this a try. Did you use the original external mic that came with the unit? Or did you purchase a different one?

Interesting. Didn't have any issues mounting the mic near the sun visor on the headliner area. @@ehabsnayyan49
You could have just added an external 3.5mm microphone to one of the black port of the RCA cables that plugs into the back of the radio
Microphone is making my voice sound exactly like this video. Any ideas what could be causing it ?
