I honestly might think about getting this because like you said having both devices monitoring is great, plus a ring vs a watch wearing it at night is a huge plus!
I understand that sleeping with a ring might be more confortable. But the idea of buying a smart ring just not to sleep with my apple watch is not enough appealing to me. It doesn t bother me that much and I find the apple watch also useful to wake me up in the morning by vibrating, to have a flashlight at my wrist while going to pee at night. I'm interested but right now I don t really see a benefit to having both. I will look closely at what Samsung and other big compagnies release, and probably wait the ring Apple will do.
Thanks for the video. I had an oura ring, and it was great. Customer service was great. I wanted to get another one, but I didn't want to pay for a subscription and not a big watch fan.
Just moved from an Ultraring Air to a Oura gen 3 ring. Sleep tracking, and therefore recovery, were way out on the Ultraring. Always overestimating by a considerable margin compared to every other device I own and, more importantly, how well recovered I actually feel. I used the Whoop 4.0 for a while and the data matched how I felt very well, Oura is, almost, as good so I will be stopping my Whoop subscription. Ultraring are also now looking at power plug, some of which have a monthly subscription, which may be an early indication of future travel for the company.
great observations. I've been wearing an Apple watch for years too, and I got the Ultrahuman Air mostly because I wanted something less obtrusive for sleep data (that and I'm geeky that way). Today is only my second day wearing it and it totally agree with your comments about the caffeine window. Just tell me when it's gong to open!! But the ring is super comfortable and gives really interesting data. Tonight I'm going to take off the watch and see what the ring tells me on its own.
I decided to take an intensive 72-hour course on smart rings and I think I've finally made up my mind thanks to your video. Thank you for your honesty and interesting details. I hope I can get an ULTRAHUMAN, it is an investment that I am willing to make to take better care of my health. Thank you again.
How accurate is the HR , and is there any activity to apply to make HR more Accurate like garmin watch need to enter an activity to give more power to the HR sensors to give u more accurate results. Is the ring give accurate HR in high intensity workout , real-time without applying any activity like other watch.
They do have workouts in beta, so you can start an activity like running and it will track your run and hr and all that. Just need the phone near you for that.
I did not want an Ultrahuman Ring Air, at first, and then... they contacted me and sent me a sample. I cannot wait for the integration with my COROS Pace 3!
IMO any wearable devices suck at tracking calories/workout(as of the state of tech now, inaccurate). I wouldn’t worry too much about fitness activities - especially for weight lifters
Interesting video. I think though that there is a moment in time when we have to consider whether we are overthinking all this "now I am allowed" thing, and precise calories in vs out could develop into an obsession. Bodies are not algorithms on machines, so flexibility and human interpretation are critical in self-management. These things are a useful reassurance and a prop, but are not what life should be about. Thanks for this very helpful examination of the qualities of this product.
I'm a bit late to the party on this video but thanks for the insights, they're very much how I would use it (the sleep metrics mostly). Appreciate the insights and thoughts as they're all very similar to how I would evaluate something like this.
I’d love to see a comparison between sleep and exercise data between the ring and the Apple Watch. That would be a very valuable video. Thanks for the hard work.
Does the Ring save some data if i'm too far away from my phone? Can it save data from some hours or does it need to be in proximity of my phone always? Great review!
That was my question as well. Ultrahuman says it can store data as long as it holds battery. So I went a full weekend away from my phone and when I opened up the app again it synced everything from the weekend!
I just can't get over now convenient it is being able to control your house, music, make calls, send texts. Find and control your phone, always have a flash light, a ruler, quick answers, notes typed or dictated, easy pay, record music as I record my instruments, etc etc using my watch. And I don't even remember I'm wearing it. I don't get why his watch is so uncomfortable. I don't see how a ring could do anything useful when a watch can do all that and give you so much utility you often stop using your phone at all which has been lrwcfjsllt therapeutic.
Yes, it is awesome. I am wearing my Ring Air now and... yes, Day 230 will arriving soon. I am interesting to see what else Ultrahuman gives us Users as it relates to health feedback. Nice video, Spencer.
I’ve had mine for a week now. Nothing but problems. The sleep tracking tells me I get 3-4 hours of sleep when I really get 7-8. Wake up once for the bathroom and it thinks I’m awake. Step counting is 3,000-4,000 behind my Apple Watch.
I was watching an oura video, about how the rings detect light nonrem sleep, and it sort of guesses and uses machine learning, as physiologically theres actually not a lot of indicators between light sleep and wakefulness. I think correcting results helps it to learn. If ur experiencing a lot of light sleep though u may have apnea or some mental health conditions can effect cycles too. Vitamin D good to get tested while at Drs. Hope this helps
Appreciate the detailed review. I really want a smart ring and was waiting for Samsung's to debut, but every article about it is pointing to an Oura-style subscription, meaning I'm completely uninterested. Holding off for a few more weeks but if the subscription is confirmed, I'm going Ultrahuman same-day, lol.
I’ve been trying to buy my Ultrahuman ring yet m/c has blocked transactions from that company. They say “due to fraudulent activity.” Has anyone experienced this?
@@SpencerScottPugh you know, the raw titanium was the finish I am wanting, yet now that I see the polished silver effect on you it’s quite attractive. I’m leaning toward it now.

We should geek out on CGMs sometime. I think they’re a fantastic tool to see how foods affect blood sugar and insulin. You’ll be amazed at how even “healthy” foods can impact your blood sugar. The good news about workout data and diet is that fitness trackers are notoriously bad about getting caloric burn wrong. So you’re not using false data to increase your caloric intake. Sounds like an amazing ring!
@@hypnoticlizard9693 oh right, im seeing more n more that theyre going subscription anyway, which is no go for me! Did they mention anything about that in the announcement?

That's why I will always support quality, consistency and innovation, even if I pay more than for a mediocre or even better quality copy.
