iI followed your cleaning and detailing steps to the letter with one exception. I used a paste wax after claying but before the ceramic. The result is truly outstanding with a smooth, deep gloss shine. Thanks for your advice. I must have looked at 100 professional detailing posts after yours. I got 100 difference opinions about how to do things. I'm glad I stayed with yours.
Awesome tutorial. I started using a leaf blower before I was the car for the engine bay and trunk to get leaves out that make there way in there and after I dry it off. Brake buster works really good at loosing the brake dust and other contaminants from your wheels.
Great video and explanation of the use of the various processes. My cleaning method is very close to yours except I use a random orbital polisher after the clay bar to remove any scratches. I too am a big fan of the ceramic sprays. Though I use a different brand, it works very similar to what you use. I live in Colorado and I've been tracking the performance of the ceramic spray over the past 12 months and it works exceptionally well on the top surfaces and front fenders, water beads extremely well for 6+ months even with the extreme sun we have in Colorado (one of my cars stays outside year round). Where it needs more frequent application is on the doors, rear quarter panels and tailgate during the winter months due to the magnesium chloride deicer applied to the roads. The ceramic spray also is helpful when used on a snow blower housing as the snow glides off much more easily instead of sticking and clogging the chute.
Thank you!!! Using a polisher is a great idea, I've used them on numerous occasions. I still use ceramic spray and once the weather stays nice, I plan on using ceramic coating. We've had great results throughout winter as well. Good feedback and thanks again for the support.
In this demo post did you wax the Mustang prior to doing anything? Also Maguire makes their Ultimate Wash and Wax. Will this be ok for applying some type of wax coating if the car has never been waxed. I'm not really into hand waxing (by hand or with an electric buffing device). Good video but it does raise some questions for the neophyte.
No, the Mustang was not waxed beforehand. The wash and wax soaps are great. However, the wax additive doesn't provide a long last protection. Yes, you can wax the car after the clay bar/washing instead of the ceramic spray. Ceramic spray and wax are similar in purpose; they are protective coats that protect the clearcoat as well as make the car shiny. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like.
I'm using McGuire's Ultimate Wash and Wax for the initial washing (twice), then claying, then rinsing, then McGuire's Ultimate Liquid Wax and THEN followed by the Turtle Wax ceramic spray. Is it ok to use the Ultimate Liquid Wax before applying the ceramic spray? Keep in mind this 2013 Honda CV-S has never been waxed. Are the Wash and Wax and the Liquid Wax treatments redundant? Is it ok to apply the ceramic spray after the Liquid Wax? Any conflict here? Thanks for all your help.
I have a question about the ceramic coating If you wait to do the second coat the next day will you cause scratches in the paint due to all the dust to that accumulated overnight, I'm having this very problem for some reason my car attract s heavy dust after waxing I want to try this ceramic coat but I don't want to cause more scratches when applying the second coat
That's a very common issue. The good new is, you don't have to wait for the next day to do the second coat. According to Avalon King, "allow the vehicle to dry for 1-2 hours before deciding whether or not you need to add a second layer of Armor Shield IX. While not necessary, a second pass does help guarantee that every square centimeter of the vehicle has been coated." From what I read, the second coat is not required because Avalon coating is not designed for laying. The second coat is for "just in case you miss a spot" scenario.

Thank you for the support. Leaf blower is not a bad idea.

Man I’m exhausted just watching this. I’m paying the guy $180 lol
Lol. Understandable
Love this!
Don't you need a special lubricant when doing the clay bar? Or is your soap solution good enough?
You are correct. Lubrication is very important. But yes, soapy water does work as a substitute to the Quik Detailer provided
