  • It isn't every day a shop puts their money where their mouth is... BUT AT FLHP THAT'S EVERY DAY! With that being, said we heard you all loud and clear when we said we'd be testing all the aftermarket ZL1 Camaro Supercharger Lids we could get our hands on. First of all, we are not, I repeat, NOT SPONSORED, or compensated by these manufacturers. We invested our money and purchased these lids to test for YOU, THE PEOPLE.
The lids we are testing come from:
    - Weapon X: / weaponxmotorsports
    - DSX Tuning: / dsxtuning
    - MPI: / mechanicalpower_inc
    - Late Model Performance: / latemodelperformance
The test will compare cost, size, weight, finish, options, sound, and especially power claims. You'll see how we set the controls for this like coolant and manifold tempts, the cool-down time between dyno pulls, and much more. By the time this shootout is over, we can put this debate to rest. Erik will give his conclusions at the end when he reveals the dyno chart comparison of every lid including the baseline run. Let's do this!

I had the DSX lid, sold it and upgraded to the LMP lid. As far as sound in the car. DSX has a better whine sound, even at low speeds. IMO

I bought an mpi lid for my zl1 strictly for cosmetic reasons for car shows. Noticed a bit more wine but no significant gains as expected. I currently have Roto-Fab non big gulp, 95 mm throttle body, and flex fuel and tune. Topped out at about 622rwhp. Great content! Looking forward to seeing what BAD Pumpkin does next!!!😎👊

I have the DSX lid on my 2016 CTS-V. With the stealth package powder coat option for a more discreet look. I have not tried any other lids but couldn't be happier with the results going from stock to the DSX one. Whine alone was worth the money!

Thank you for doing the test, you spent hard earned money that you didn't haft to spend.
My 2018 ZL1 has a roto fab grey filter and borla Atak cat back, that's it, the car is about 18 months from pay off, once that happens it will definitely get a lid change in a magnuson 2650R, katech billet pump and a stage 3 cam in my 6 speed manual.
working on getting my twin turbo chevelle on the road.
72 T56 magnum, LQ4 6.0 Stock rings low boost 12 psi or less, 2 borg warner S256SX 93 octane with M1 methanol, LS9 head gasket, ARP head bolts.
So I have plenty work for now.

So no wideband on the car don’t know that the lmp goes very lean and needs to be adjusted in the tune same on the mpi. Also the stock tune limits the hp to exactly 9-9.5 psi it has a boost bypass that opens when boost increases. I can promise you the lmp and mpi both make way more power on a fbo max effort car. A totally stock car on my tune makes 12 psi so also his claim of not enough airflow is crap. This is why you do not use these people to tune your car period he doesn’t even know anything about them. I just had a 4000 lbs bolt on car run 9.15@151 mph it will be the fastest when we get a little weight out of it and get better then 600 da. Don’t bother waiting on his crap I can’t tell you just doing a proper setup the two lids do make more hp. That 9.15 car makes 830whp bolt on using e70 and the lmp lid.

    • @floridahighperformance
