The live version in her living room is my favorite. It’s so real and raw with emotion.
That's this version on the album, they just modulated it as the iphone couldn't handle her belted high notes and the sound became distorted. But the emotion in that take couldn't be matched so they kept it for the album. You can hear when she turned her head away from the iphone, the sound becomes different as her voice wasn't wasn't toward the mike.

In my opinion this is the most vulnerable song I’ve ever heard by her. It’s one of my favorite Adele songs of all time. I see why she can’t perform this live I can’t even listen to it without crying every time 🥺
She did an IHeart interview, and she says she'll NEVER perform this song live. She can't. She says she cried the whole time recording and it still chokes her up.

I went through a divorce too this year, this hole album means a lot to me and that's the one song that means the most, so I guess you're correct about it being really important to her to.
