I’m at the level where every riff still looks hard here.
Start slowly, first learn the notes then practice with a metronome
@@JefeInquisidorGOW yeah I agree a lot of people forget about using a metronome with scale and finger exercises. They go straight into learning covers and don’t focus on the technique. I started getting sloppy recently so I’ve dedicated at least an hour to starting at 60bpm and going up by 5 just to get disciplined again

Away from actual guitar practice, Start studying music theory and guitar theory. Once you have a better grasp on scales, Chord Progressions, intervals, Knowing about augmented & diminished chord, Etc. Then learning how it connects to your Guitar playing, Will make you a better all around musician. Two good RUclips channels to get started with are, 12 Tone, And Adam Neely. Between those two I’ve learned a great lot about Music theory the past year and a half. Has made not only my piano playing better, but has made me more confident in picking up an instrument I’ve never played.
Power chords FTW. With respect to the previous reply, Skip guitar theory blah blah blah. Depending on the genre, many successful musicians wrote amazing music with very little classical knowledge. IF the idea of studying guitar theory makes you want to die then don’t do it. It will only scare you away. Drill scales and chord progressions, invest in a metronome. My brother used the Yousician app and he is making respectable progress on an hour per day.
Honestly that’s one of the factors of why Nirvana was so successful, so simple, yet so good sounding and it just sounds right
Also Linkin Park is super easy to play
'Good sounding' is pretty subjective. I appreciate some of their tunes but as a Gen X I'm sure you know where my opinion lies.

@@11DNA11 Yeah, easy to learn harder to master. Guitar is all about muscle memory and finger agility. I get the the riff fast too but play it for 5 minutes without any error. That takes takes some practice.
