The singer, David Draiman, is a metal singer but as a child was trained as a Jewish Cantor. Most people don’t realize that he can actually sing rather than just belt out metal songs. To this day he still takes voice lessons. I’m old enough to appreciate Simon and Garfunkel but this version is my favorite between the two. ❤
the performance of this group shakes every cell of the body. I also grew up in the era of Simon and Garfunkel, but this band's performance is like a thunder storm, shaking body and soul. Not everyone can do it, but they did. The entire performance, masters of musical instruments and the incredible power of the singer's voice, power that shakes you to the core of your soul.
I said he should make a movie all his videos he should make a movie first time I heard it I'll never get over it and I still listen to it it's been over 3 months now I love them they're from Chicago his first name is David I can't remember his last name but he is the mom
Enjoyed the reaction, Disturbed has many great songs, on the heavy side Down with the sickness is their most famous song along side Sound of silence and totally opposite end of the Spectrum too. Other top sings are Stricken, Indestructible, Bad Man, they do other great covers like Land of confusion, if I ever lose my faith in you, Shout. Lighter side songs Don't tell me Duet with Ann Wilson of Heart, Hold on to memories and A reason to fight. Enjoy!
If you want a softer side to Disturbed react to A Reason to Fight official live video or for a full heavy side Down with the Sickness live Rock AM Ring 2008 (uncensored version). David Draiman was trained to be a counter in the Jewish faith as a child. When David heard this song in the finished form he actually cried because he hadn't heard his voice in that range since he was a teenager. Disturbed does a lot of songs about mental health and how people who are different are treated in society. The whole band has delt with depression and addiction at some point in their lives. So they write about their experiences in life. David was friends with Chester Bennington from Linkin Park. He was affected by Chester's passing on July 20, 2017.
One of my favorite bands! They have some bangers! Check out “The Light” and “Are You Ready?” If you like it really hard, then they are most famous for “Down with the Sickness” but I don’t want to scare you away if you’re just getting into hard rock.
The song was written as a warning about the effects of tv on society, thus the neon god. In this version he is angry the warning was not heeded. We now have computers in our hands, we text, not talk. Everyone’s head is bowed down to their phones. We really messed up.
I do not call this a cover song. It is an experience and stands on its own merit. Cover or not. Does t matter i. It is its own power and emotion. If you don't get chills, or emotional or tears then there is something seriously wrong with you. Davids voice is so amazing.

Listen to Disturbed's Don't Tell Me, featuring Ann Wilson from Heart. Outstanding song with two of the best singers in the business.

someone said S&G’s version was a warning, Disturbed is the anger of people not heeding the warning.
Love your reaction! Yep what a voice. Need to watch the live version on Conan. Luv from Australia ❤️🎼❤️🎼❤️

One of the few remakes that's better than the original. 😎
One of the best covers ever done, imo. The only one close is Shinedown's cover of Simple Man.
100% my top 2 as well. 1a and b and nothing else.
3:42 Is that a cow farting in the background?
Live that conan is better.
And remember, he was sick that day.
Hated the original
Not so much hated, but the original was kinda... meh. No real depth of sound. Maybe too pretty, for the message?
