Thanks for the review! Where I live that Dell monitor costs about 35% more and I don't think the difference is that much so now I'm pretty confident about getting this one. (max brightness is still better than my current screen)
Nice review! I just got this LG monitor and I'm enjoying a lot. Didnt even considered the Dell monitor as it is almost double the LG34 price here due to taxes (what is a shame).
Here in Brazil the LG34WP65C-B can be found for R$ 2.699,00 (about USD 500.00), while the Dell S3422DWG for R$ 3.950,00 (about USD 740.00). It's almost 50% more... here the LG clearly has the best cost-benefit.
If someone is wondering why the difference of price, it's because here in Brazil the LG monitor is built in a tax-free industrial zone (Manaus), while the Dell is imported from the United States (then there are duties on it).
Yes, but, seems to me that guy have a costume to review in base the top of the line. It's bad because he's don't otimist and make people feeling bad about the any product that not have the most powerful configs.

I do own this monitor and I must say for an average user it is a great monitor. Nothing is perfect but this one manages to fulfil my everyday needs. Be it gaming, watching live streams and sports! A few apps still aren't ultrawide compatible that is sometimes a bummer. Also, you did not mention about LG's Dual controller and Onscreen Display app. It is good to know/have feature.
@A A hi AA. Yes, that's correct. Pixels on the edges are downward facing or maybe overlapped idk exactly how they are placed but yes, the line underneath open apps cannot be seen from a normal angle. You may need to either tilt the monitor or yourself to see that line. Let me know if you need to ask anything else :)
@アグロペスカ - ジャカレ Hi, greetings. I am sorry as I couldn't pronounce your name. Your english is perfect not to worry. Well, this monitor is good.. if you haven't used any IPS in the past I am sure you will not notice any ghosting or smearing. Yes, if your main objective is to find ghosting then you will be able to see it but only in some specific scenes. Such as white text on black background, scroll blur and low lighting scene in games.(you actually need to move your mouse pretty slow to find ghosting in such scenarios) Also, I believe Valorant cannot be played in 21:9 aspect ratio. You need to play in 16:9 even on an ultrawide. Let me know if you have any questions :)
@アグロペスカ - ジャカレ hi, I think the dell monitor which you are talking about costs way too much also, I did not give much attention to its specifications as of now. ( I will compare with mine later for sure ) Also, keep in mind pushing 3440 x 1440 pixels will require more power from your machine, I assume you have a high end pc before putting money into high res monitors. As far as smearing is concerned... you will not notice a major difference after a few days of usage. Yes, if you compare them side by side you will definitely feel something is off on the VA. But in my opinion VA monitors are the best for content consumption, non competitive gaming and are relatively cheaper than IPS. You may not find the LG monitor bright enough if you prefer bright screens. I am someone who prefers lowest amount of brightness. So for me it is fine. Colour accuracy: Fine for average users like us. Until and unless you are not doing any professional work involving colours.
@アグロペスカ - ジャカレ that's great.. even I have similar config. 3080 Ti Fe with 5600x and 32gig ram. However, my 3080 Ti FE reaches 83degree Celsius on core temps, 91.2c hotspot and 104c on Memory temp
That's a nice video! I'm planning to change my 34uc79g which served me more than 7 years, mostly for work(2D, 3D, game engines, coding) and some casual gaming. As I get used to OLED TVs and my InfiniteView 4K display on my laptop. As it is something that earns me money, I am prone to spend a lot more money than the price of this VA panel LG, but I believe it won't be worth it as nano-IPS monitors don't have enough contrast ratio. I always use monitors on darker places, as my eyes/head can't stand different types of light being mixed, so I am not going to complain about brightness. Add the fact that I can see easier in dark than during a sunny day(I cannot get out without sun glasses).
Thanks for the review. This monitor can be bought in my country for around 380$ and Dell S3422DWG is for 500$. I'm still curious if ghosting is that much worse on that LG so it't woth to pay much more for that Dell.

Hi there.. I am thinking about buying this monitor. Does it need any software installed on the laptop. I work from home and my work laptop cannot have a software installed on it .
Hi, I would like to ask you the minimum distance from the monitor to the eyes. At my gaming station, the screen would be about 50cm from my eyes. Is this okay or too close? Thank you
I have an Asus laptop with integrated UHD 620 GPU and HDMI 1.4. Will my laptop be able to display 2k on this monitor ? I'm not getting a clear answer anywhere. If you could please help me.Thanks.
I noticed when I plugged both my Xbox series X and PlayStation 5 in the monitor in both hdmi ports at the same time, only one of the systems would run in 1440p 120hz, and the other would run at 1080p 60hz. But both work in 1440p 120hz if only one is plugged in. Do you know a way around that? Or is the monitor not able to handle both systems together.
Hi there! Please, do you know if this monitor has the dual link function? I'm looking for a ultrawide monitor I can split the screen in halfs using 2 different computers! many thanks!
@A A I just got mine today and I have that problem too. A friend of mine also bought the same monitor at the same time I did and he also has the same problem, but he's using Windows 11 which has more padding around the taskbar icon which elevates those underlines on an active program a bit more than in Windows 10 which has it displayed at the very bottom pixels of the display. I really hate this problem though and I'm going to return mine for a refund. I have to assume all monitors of this model will have this problem.
Ya the LG is priced at $399.99, and that dell is $449.99, I have a question about the refresh rate dell is 144 Hz vs LG 160 Hz does that matter when gaming since these monitors in refresh rate are not the same big number difference if you can notice it? I am trying to watch videos to see what's the best gaming monitor I can find, for my birthday a few months away still and price matters, I think. since it's not the same between these monitors, I would be getting it for gaming with say an pc with a Nvidia RTX 2080 card, and maybe plug into my Xbox one x console or an Xbox series x if I ever get one if its locally in stock somewhere near me.
160hz is nice but 144hz is also nice. I would say everything above 120 is fine. So woudn’t base youre decision of this. Also check if the consoles can even hit that many fps.
I would like to get this monitor for gaming & video editing, the gaming part is fine but I really don't know if getting a VA panel for video editing would be a good idea, and the other ultrawide IPS 2k monitor from LG is like $700 haha
I've researched both heavily seems only difference is the 65 model has high adjustable stand and speakers while the 60 model is only tilt adjustable and has no speakers

Having a bit of an issue getting my Dell XPS15 with 4k UHD 3840 x 2160 to properly display on this monitor? Using an 8k HDMI cable and simply plugging in the monitor shows my desktop with two large bars on the side. If I go into the LG menu, Setting/Input/Aspect Ratio, I can switch it from Original to Full Wide. Now the bars are gone, but the screen is stretched horizontally to make that happen. All windows and text, etc, is stretched. I've tried a few things to fix that but haven't found the right combination. Can someone help me with this, is it even possible, or do these monitors always stretch the input signal to make it fit wide?
Could you go over the image and color settings? Mine arrived this week but I thought the monitor was pretty bad, I had a gk750f before this one but I'm thinking of returning it.
What refresh rate can you get out of the HDMI2.0 port? I would need to connect this monitor to 2 PC, so I could use the DisplayPort only with one, and with the other I would be stuck with the HDMI2.0. thanks

The hdmi ports are probably different
30% off on amazon right now for sale at $350! Might pull the trigger …. The Dell monitor you compared it to is $80 more. I CANT DECIDE :(
I'm also on the same boat, I would go with the GIGABYTE G34WQC instead.
Hi there! Please, do you know if this monitor has the dual link function? I'm looking for a ultrawide monitor I can split the screen in halfs using 2 different computers! many thanks!
Can I use this as an office monitor ? My Mac won't support two screens so I need an ultra wide monitor
thank you so much for actually having "cons", so many "reviews" these days just read off the marketing sheet like there's no competition to consider.
Have you tried turning the britness up on the monitor
This panel is selling for $350 on Amazon vs $430 for the Dell. At those price points, which would you recommend?
having the same debate with myself right now. Im wondering if on prime day the dell monitor will go on sale
@@shahimpanjwani8547 yea I'm keeping an eye out on prime day to see if anything drops.
Been looking at the same 2 monitors on Amazon lol, hoping prime day delivers :)
@@Jerry-do4ji yeah I really want the Dell because the lg is 5 ms response time compared to the Dell being 1ms
@@Jerry-do4ji looks like prime day delivered. The Dell is $389.
no USB? couldn't power my macbook with it? all that screen space and not even 4k?
I can order the dell for €20 more is that a better monitor overall?
I wonder can my laptop HP Envy X360 with ryzen 7 5800u support this monitor?
and it works with VESA monitor arms as well?
plz review - Benq EW2880U. I dont know why its not getting noticed. Looks like a nice monitor.
this is one of the newer monitors? How come they didn't put the new menu system with this one?
Just bought it after watching your Video, the dell one was 75 bucks pricier.
I’m actually in the market and I get $50 off on eBay with capital one this one comes out to $417 total might purchase
@A A i mean that would make the monitor unusable, dont think that issue us a real thing
@A A dont have that
@A A just buy and return if issue is there
@A A I just got mine today and I have that problem too.
LG has 160hz 8bpc
to get to 10bpc you need to reduce it to 144hz, so it's on the same frequency as Dell.
This monitor is supposed to be HDR 10 Why couldn't you get it to do 10- bit color depth?
I would like to get this monitor for gaming & video editing, the gaming part is fine but I really don't know if getting a VA panel for video editing would be a good idea, and the other ultrawide IPS 2k monitor from LG is like $700 haha
VA is not good for photo or video editing. You need a quality IPS panel. Colour reproduction on VA isnt very good
@@momo_the_great6969 VA panels are pretty on par nowadays.
@@Devin7Eleven OH hell no. I just bought a brand new VA panel and it is nothing like my IPS panel when it comes to colour reproduction.
You can edit on a 17 inch CRT no problems too but your photos will look like trash when you look at them on a real monitor
🤣🤣🤣🤣
is the brightness really bad? i’d mostly be in a dark room
What difference does LG 34WP60C-B have to LG 34WP65C-B, excuse my ignorance, thanks.
I've researched both heavily seems only difference is the 65 model has high adjustable stand and speakers while the 60 model is only tilt adjustable and has no speakers
In Netherlands, Dell 3422DW is Euro 355 and this LG for 430? should i go for Dell?
Hi,
If you use it with 2 computer, how many clicks (or time) it takes to change the source ?
I would use it shared between my work and my home desktop ,many often changing the source hdmi
Consider using a KVM switch then, it allows you to use one mouse, keyboard and display with two or more computers
@@TheHackerguy100 Thanks
I tried a KVM once , it was horrible ,randomly switched sometimes ,it was glitch as hell.
And for my work laptop I use its own laptop keyboard.
So I am still interested how long it takes to select the desired hdmi source.
Comment on it if you can ,please.
LG 34WP65C-B or ODYSSEY G5 34 ?
I’m going to buy it right now, i want to play with xbox serie x. Can it play at 4k 120fps?
Does it have the mounting holes in the back?
Can you help me?
I set it on the display port of my videocard, but it wont show the full 160hz of refresh rate.
Question, does this monitor need speakers? Cuz currently I have no sound lol
It’s good for a 3070ti?
Would this monitor be worth it if it’s on sale for $300?
yes
Compare it with the 34gp950-b
Is this better than HP 34c?
I've been trying to decide between this one and the Samsung LS34A650UXNXGO
Samsung ls34a65ouxnxgo
I got the LG for $100 at a yard sale so it beats the heck out of anything in that price range imo LOL
This monitor have function duall controller? I can controller my pc and my notebook split screen ?
Could you go over the image and color settings?
Mine arrived this week but I thought the monitor was pretty bad, I had a gk750f before this one but I'm thinking of returning it.
This one support two inputs Picture in Picture?
This or MSI Optix MAG342CQR?
What refresh rate can you get out of the HDMI2.0 port? I would need to connect this monitor to 2 PC, so I could use the DisplayPort only with one, and with the other I would be stuck with the HDMI2.0. thanks
Will it work just as well with Mac as Pc
