Well maybe not the greatest but certainly a fine band! Ian McCullogh had a great vocals! I’m an old guy who grew up listening to 60’-70’s music! Echo and the bunny men caught my ear!
My favorite song by these guys. One of the most underrated bands ever.. I am a long time fan and this was as good as it was in 1989. Ian McCulloch's voice sounded amazing considering the problems he had from cigarette smoking. Just outstanding.
What the hell! I can't believe I've never seen this before today. Absolutely flawless, I can't believe some of these folks in the audience just standing there with no emotional excitement... They'ed have secure watching me if I were able to see this incredible performance.
Iconic post punk band and awesome song. Glad I got to enjoy their music since the 80's when gems like this and many more were brand new, all the way up 'til now and onward. Hardcore Post Punk/Goth/New Wave/Coldwave/Synthwave etc. fan for life. *_ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN RULES..._*
Good to see Echo and the Bunnymen still rocking out, great version and on main stream TV, shocker.! And, I agree, hate the bud light promo all over the video too... Ian sounds like he did back in the day...LOVE ME SOME ECHO&BMEN!!!!!!
Yes, this is a very impressive performance of a great song. And yes, that Bud Light signage lording over the stage is totally obnoxious. Do they really need to have a promo as backdrop to a live performance?? Come on, Jimmy and crew. That's wrong.
Love this band in growing up in their times with all other in this era, purchased all there LP's , big follower , they had it going on . Miss there sounds it was great live'n Those Times. Personally started produceing silkscreen Tee shirts myself to promote this great band . Only to bring there talent to the threshold of there greatness. Cheers to em All, in the stage performances. 👍👍🎶🎵🎸🥁 Fantasic Vercheosos
clayton vernon. C'mon dude. I love great music and I've been to a LOT of live performances but I feel zero need to sway and clap during the performance.
How did I manage to Miss this on TV ? Wow they sound just as good as they did back in the 80's. I just wish Ian Mc Culloch would take those Sunglasses off so I can see his Gorgeous Brown Eyes.
Heard it for the 1st time in 88 ..riding with a hot secretary in our miami office down to the keys..the 80s baby ..I was 32 now 62..wish I could look up that lil hottie and do it again .
Am I seeing a different video mix from everyone else? Vocals and Wil’s guitar are buried under a murky keyboard, and the drum gate are on too overwhelming everything with a bunch of chiming synthesized crashes. You almost have to lip read to get the vocals. Either the original mix is off or whoever uploaded the video did something to it. Shame, Wil’s guitar playing is spot on but so muffled nothing can be made out. Ian does stop after the solo to have a sip of a cocktail, so I guess he’s true to form. I remember ‘86 and the New Order OMD tour, they were amazing. Met Les and drank a crappy beer with him and GUESS WHAT? It was a Bud Light. Dun dun dunnn....
I recently revisited their first five albums-not a bad apple in the bunch! One of the 80's best bands ever..
Man what a great band!..I'm in my 70s now, where did the time go, listening to this makes me want to go back and do it all over.
take me with you please
Let’s go!
Time. Slipped. Into. The. Past. Very. Very. Fast!!
Life is a vapour. Time evaporates quickly.
Real talent …we miss great music by accomplished musicians. This is amazing …
I agree - one of the best bands ever. I have always loved them. This song never fails to send a tingle down my spine.
Wow!! They still got it. I love this band
This song inspired me to venture out into the new sound of the'90's.
Greatest band of all time, and most people don't even know they exist.
You right !
Hardly any one knew of them .
Echo and the Bunnymen
Great stage name.
I bought there Lp's
Was good stuff
So good..
Not actually true.
My favourite band of all time, I still get that buzz every time I see them.

Still got that unbelievable voice
I was in college when this came out. This was and IS my college music experience.
What the hell! I can't believe I've never seen this before today. Absolutely flawless, I can't believe some of these folks in the audience just standing there with no emotional excitement... They'ed have secure watching me if I were able to see this incredible performance.

At 60, I still need my dose of "Heaven up here" regularly...
All my colours still gives me goosebumps...Jimbo, jimbo jimbo...
This made me dance....I had no control.
Fantastic voice!!
I have NEVER heard him sound this good since this "comeback"... What a set of pipes...
Ian could sing!
@@Sean-wp7st he was such a a fantastic crooner, which is so rare in Rock
I saw Echo and the Bunny Bunnymen and the Cure in Minneapolis 38 years ago. Holy shit!
@@Sean-wp7st one of my great regrets is I passed on seeing them when they toured with New Order.

So much talent in the '80's. I'm sure there is a lot of talent still out there, but the record companies will never let us know about it.
ahhhhhh you're actually very right.
Especially with the shit rap they shove down our throats...
Good to see Echo and the Bunnymen still rocking out, great version and on main stream TV, shocker.! And, I agree, hate the bud light promo all over the video too... Ian sounds like he did back in the day...LOVE ME SOME ECHO&BMEN!!!!!!
I wonder how they sound in 2021?
Yes, this is a very impressive performance of a great song. And yes, that Bud Light signage lording over the stage is totally obnoxious. Do they really need to have a promo as backdrop to a live performance?? Come on, Jimmy and crew. That's wrong.
Going to see these guys tonight in MONTREAL ! Cant wait
He sounds great!
Heard this during a U2 gig.... And here I am!

The '80s were a special time for music.
Best fucking band to ever play Kimmel! Cheers to Echo!
Ian sounds amazing. (deleted- apology)
clayton vernon. C'mon dude. I love great music and I've been to a LOT of live performances but I feel zero need to sway and clap during the performance.
What do you expect from crowd to do ? head banging or circle pit?
Thanks for this. They really are in a class All Their Own. I Appreciate. :)
These guys sound as good as ever. Ian's voice is still fantastic!!!
how come you heard it and i didnt??
That was so freakin awesome!!!!
great band
Sounds better here than he had in years.
Ian McCullough has a real set of pipes...
Beautiful !!!
Sounds just like 1987... Timeless song
3:25 thanks for the Emotional Rescue...cool stuff
Ahhhh I remember all those adorable now 'cougars' lol in the front row! 80s were a blast ;-P
Excellent
Sheer class.
1970 to 1980..... awesome music times...
Amazing
Outstanding band
Nice! Really nice! Ian is becoming iconic, almost godly.
Superb...

.
i jump up and down
Tight.
If you think I don't like E&TBM. You're wrong. Been a fan since I was 13! In 1983! Even if they don't like me.
Fnckin' cool.
In 1987 Ian professed that EATB were the best band in the world. I'll say they and U2 were 1A and 1B.
Hate the Bud Light shite, but Ian sounds great. Happy to know he can still sing
Bud Light sponsors this live music segment on Jimmy Kimmel's show.
If this were the 80s that audience would no stand still. They would all be dancing in their own zone. That was my generation.
LAIKA AND ZIMBO MY FAVORITE DOGS AND ALL MY FRIENDS I LOVE YOU MORE STRONG!!!!
Excelente
@xlerosx Hey I'm only 14 and I only heard about this band last summer because of the movie Donnie Darko, and now they are one of my favorites :)
2:12 SugaAAAAaaaAA
Pete was the man - totally agree!
IAN YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!

the shit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
jimmy brown made of stone...awesome ian..
BRILLIANT Performance.........I just watched Coldplay murdering this song LOL.
Me too! I heard the first verse and clicked over to this one
Sounds just like the recording.....how many bands can do that today ?
Love this song
Great song! Great performance! The sound mix could use some tweaking, tho...a little more compression...
Dig that little homage to The Rolling Stones near the end!
Mac showing the Americans how it’s done.
Dig the old people rocking out
Willis was known to spark one up!
I loved going to there concerts, the chicks were hot. And guaranteed
holy shit they sound the same
Ok, what happened to the mic check? Can't hear crap?
Is that James McCartney on bass?
Sound check...
Man, what's with that rythm guitar ?? You can't hear Will on lead at all !
Great song but nobody does Bunnymen drums the way Pete DeFreitas did.
@bookwormgal1996
You are to be congratulated on finding Real music!!!
damn if you do and damn if you don't.....
and somebody's gonna get laid
Damn baby aged, they're still great, though! I hope that the Band is playing nowadays!
Yeah it's like they got older...like everyone does...
Ian is real
Coldplay, listen to how it's done. And weep
Grew up with Echo so why are you trashing Coldplay? They are quite a good band also.
@@xoxxobob61 you're right. But Echo and the bunnymen never sold out in a way coldplay did.
Was it the 80's? No, really?
@bookwormgal1996
What?!?!?
this makes me sad.
Resembles Liam Gallagher.
