Honestly, lip syncing backwards is fairly easy. First you lip sync forward and then you reverse the sync data. But it does look better with a waterfall in the back.
I love how this song starts. It doesn't start, there's no opening chord, no beginning riff, nothing to signal the start like a normal song would. A Hard Day's Night might have the most intricate layered opening chord, one that hits your ears like a speeding train, but it's still an opening. A start. This song doesn't have a start - just one moment there is no song and the next you're in the middle of a song. You are aware, somewhere in your mind, that the song has begun, but you feel as if you've been already listening to it for maybe five minutes already and you're right before the guitar solo. The vocalist is singing the refrain and the backing guitar is keeping the beat, you look at the lead guitar and you see him drinking some water, drenched in sweat, ready to continue where he left off. You have been standing here in the crowd for half a concert now, but it has only been a moment of real time. This song doesn't start and it doesn't end, it's a constant existence that you just become briefly aware of.
That’s because technically, you are listening to the end of a different song. The previous song on the album this came from ended with “And on and on and on”, which was extended into this song both to create a seamless flow and to extend the joke of it going “on and on”. It’s like how some DJs, when going from one song to another, will extend the end of the last song into the beginning of the next to create an enhanced listening experience.
This animation never fails to impress me with how perfectly it matches both the feeling of this song and the little individual notes and beats. Every vocal detail is very clearly portrayed with the visuals in a way that matches extremely well.

If you think about it, SFM is a perfect fit for Neil's Mouth remixes. They're both about taking assets that already exist, changing them so much that they become their own thing, and then distorting them until they're pretty much unrecognizeable.
Someone made actual SFM porn of this. Like, they got the 'el jefe summer shades' scout on the exact same map and had them banging, and alluded to a reference with the caption on the post being 'YOU'RE MY WONDERWAAAAAAAAAALL'
Beginning at 1:41, while scout is singing backwards, notice that the waterfall in the background is falling in the correct direction. That means the animator had to sync the voice backwards, rather than animate it front-ways and then reverse it. That's damned impressive.

Putting aside the fact that you animated this song, a great feat on its own, can we all take some time to appreciate all the tiny details, mainly the facial animations and body language. The facial animations and body language manage to express so much, and give insight to the thoughts of the characters at that point in time (mostly with the Scout). They can tell stories about the then and there, sometimes related to the music, and sometimes completely seperate. And, while they can be a bit silly, it fits the theme, tone, and music. Heck, they are better and more expressive in this than in some animated movies made by major studios such as Disney or Pixar. I have serious respect for you, especially concidering that you managed to do all this in an animation of what is basically a YTP of an existing song. A good example is at 1:36, where after the Scouts finish their quartet, they all look around, confused at the setting they are in now that they have a chance to inspect it, and also wondering when the next scene will start. There is a minor exception of the heavy in the bottom right at 0:53, but it's funny enough that it can be excused.
